I found your channel several years ago as I was searching how to make a succulent ball. The video was great & very informative however my arrangement did not turn out well 😢. But through my failure I have learned so much about succulents & landscaping from your videos. My mom who lives in Georgia (her garden is like the cover to a better homes & garden magazine) came up to NJ visit this spring and was so impressed with all my new plants & flowers. Everyone kept saying oh I can tell your mom was here & I said she was but this was all me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My kids gave me the best gift for Christmas this year. They gave me a 3 tier raised bed planter and 12 months of succulents! I'm so excited to start arranging beautiful succulent arrangements! Thank you for inspiring me. I absolutely love your videos and you're the first thing I watch every morning
My husband and I always watch your videos together! We were watching one you and your Mom were doing and she was wearing your hooded sweatshirt, I told my husband I loved it and he surprised me with it for Christmas. Best Christmas gift!!! We went to your parents Christmas open house because of your videos and they were wonderful! Everyone there was very helpful and it was a great day. We did go to the road to your house and stopped at the private drive sign, did not want to invade your privacy, but it gave us a prospective to where things were in your videos. Thank you for all you and Erin do we really appreciate all of it and the people you are is what makes the videos so good you never need to apologize for anything!!
I've commented on this once before but I'll say it again. I've never been a fan of succlents.......until I saw your arrangement that you did outside a while back and then this one today. Absolutely beautiful!
This projects of your's hooked me up to watch more about ur channel Laura since about 5 or 6 years ago even Proven Winner vids. I love ur dish/fairy garden and i learned a lot from you specially we have this school competitions on making dish gardens where students actually made it and Im just coaching. Keep it up and more power to your channel I really enjoy watching your u doin those projects and ur garden. Im always looking forward to see ur videos every day and everyweek it makes may weeks complete. Thanks😘♥️🌴🌿💚🍀
Love learning more about succulents Laura! I had to laugh when you got your pen out to make the holes then promptly laid it down and used your finger! I do that type of thing all the time. Even bring gloves out to use them, seemingly unconsciously take them off, lay them beside me and get in there with my hands. Then when putting my tools away I need to go out and find my gloves! Lol. Merry Christmas and it was wonderful having my morning coffee with you today!
I know you think your channel is mainly outdoor plants, but I first found your channel years ago when you did your first succulent arrangement at your old townhome. I was new to plants, and I was told succulents were the best to start with. So I did one of those “succulent of the month” things. I soon discovered that I am a heavy waterer, and I should of started with regular houseplants. But thanks to your channel and the knowledge you share, I know exactly where I went wrong. I lost 99% of the succulents I received in the mail to over watering. Now (I guess it’s been closer to 6 yrs) I have over 200 houseplants and 100 succulents in our home. And all are thriving beautifully thanks to the things you have taught me through the years. Your channel is always my go-to for plants. I even have a section of water plants that are still doing amazing after 3-4yrs!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and giving me a direction to an actual hobby I love!!
This takes me back years ago when I was searching YT for succulent videos and found your channel, back in your townhouse. I still love succulents but now I garden too. Thank you for all the wonderful, educational and inspiring videos you've created over the years!
I really love how these look. I’m gonna keep my eyes pealed for containers that would work for a project like this. My daughter does similar things with African violets. She now has dozens where once there was only one.
An African violet video would be awesome! They are so whimsical and colorful in a mixed variety arrangement. For me I find them a little fussy but I’m probably doing it wrong.
Good morning Garden fam hope you all had a great and safe Xmas. Laura I just bought my first succulent the other day and had no idea how to set the pot up so I definitely have some ideas now thank you for all you do!
Laura you really have such a touch when it comes to these arrangements. thank you for taking the time to explain what you’re doing and why, it helps so much! You have strengthen my knowledge with succulents and each time I work with them it gets better and better. Thank you! As I was listening to the music and watching you place the succulents, I could almost hear you saying, “oh there’s room for one over here and one over there, and yes I can fit at least three over there!” Lol - Beautiful job!
I became a succulent dealer after watching and learning so much from your site. Love, Love, Love the new arrangement. It is so amazing watching you whether in your studio or out in the yard or just simply being with your family. You inspire me to be better at gardening and changing up old habits for new ones. I have you and Aaron to thank for the time and all the effort you put into helping guide others to be better at something that they might not have thought they could do. Thank you for all your time and thoughtfulness in the projects you air and the descriptions to follow, it not just useful but insightful, even for us avid gardeners and beginners alike. I pray you all shall have a porperous and healthy, wealthy and wise New Year.
You have the wonderful gift of being a great teacher and also an inspirer, by your enthusiasm over your projects! Yes I was inspired to cut some of my succulents as you showed & have a go at this! Thank you!
Laura your channel always teaches me knew things, for one: I grew up thinking succulents were always fake plants...LOL - after watching you for years now I have a new respect for them and want to try them as a house plant. :) Love your channel and look forward to watching every morning (now M-F and on Sundays) while enjoying my coffee and planning out my garden.
I believe I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary of subscribing. I have gone back and binged GA videos. Your old videos inspired me last winter to go get a low bowel and order from Mountain Crest. At Thanksgiving someone asked where I bought my arrangement. I had such pride in saying I created it! Makes me want to get online order a few new things and freshen it up. The leaf propagation really does work. KY Zone 6b
It was obvious how much I talk about my favorite gardening channel to friends and family throughout the year based the Christmas gifts I received ---- A hoselink, a pair of felco pruners, and a metal tub to make a raised bed 🤣💚🪴 -- I am excited to put them all to use and so thankful that I ran across your channel last year when searching how to make fresh Christmas garland. Thank you for doing what you do! Praying blessings over GA and your family in 2022. ❤
Can you do a few recap of the outside garden videos? Maybe a before/after of some of the changes, or your favorite visages with commentary on why? I really miss the outside, and I have exhausted the photos from my small property... you're sitting on tons of videos and 5 acres of gorgeous - kick down 😁
Ah, this video brought back some memories! The first video I saw from you guys was a similar dismantling of a succulent arrangement. I was like "why is this lady killing these poor plants?!". I have been watching every video since, and I even made some succulent arrangements myself. You guys also inspired me to start my own garden. It's very eclectic, because I love just plopping down plants all willy-nilly, but with every passing growing season it gets tidier. Thank you guys for making my thumb a little greener one video at a time!
Thank you for today’s inspiration! I just spent a very satisfying hour pruning and repotting my succulents. I also have a nice selection of leaves for propagation!
I’ve never been a big fan of succulents, but I really liked the Christmas arrangement and this one is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for helping me expand my gardening horizons! 💚
I love how you pack them all in so tight, I can't get them as tight as you can....need more practice probably! So beautiful, love how it turned out! It was so funny when you said that you don't know how you want to do the arrangement, design wise, 😅 hilarious to me....because I am the same way. Fun to watch! Laura, you came such a long way in video making, you became so much more comfortable, is like your second nature to you now! I so enjoy seeing you and Aaron grow in this regard. Even your mom and your sister is worming up to it, your mom is so used to it right now she doesn't mind really! What an absolute pleasure to be apart of this growth and of course your family....in a sense I do feel like part of your family. Thank you for that, is my daily relaxation session😉 therapy! God bless you for being a beacon of beauty and light....we so need more like you all! Much love and lots of hugs💗🤗🤗💗 Camelia
I use to be a succulent addict. I had a small green house full of succulents. Then we were out of town when a unexpected freeze hit our area, I came home to a frozen mushy mess of succulents. It broke my heart. I grew most those plants from leave cuttings. That was probably 35 years ago. I am just now starting my addiction again. When I watch you I want to go get a whole bunch of plants.
I have to say, I looked at everything you put up on the desk that you were going to be working with and thought: Okay? I don't see it. Then by the end: a masterpiece. simply beautiful. I love your work and your talent. God Bless you and yours.
I'm so glad no one is filming me whilst I watch you building this arrangement!! I talk to you, indicate with either head or hands which way the rocks should be placed! and all that's after I've settled in with which center interest is chosen. I really wanted the wreath thingie but this arrangment is wonderful. Great choices and placement (esp. with my assistance). Thank you much!...l
Y'know, when all my friends started going off to university and getting their own places, it seemed like everyone was collecting succulents and I just didn't "get" the appeal. Seeing the lovely arragenemts you put together and all the varieties you have has completely changed my mind! I know there are a million things you could do this with, but would you ever put together a timelaps of the succulent leaves growing? Cheers from Galway! 🍀
Good morning Garden Answer friends! I have succulents in my landscape in Traverse City, Michigan, 5b zone. I thought at first they were fake, possibly the previous renters or landlord planted them & had some type of theme, I could not recognize under the layers of leaves since it was fall when we moved in. 🤔 I would have never of guessed a real succulent could live through. cold Michigan winters, outside in the ground. . However, these succulents proved me very wrong. The next fall I dug them up since the chicks and hens were forming randomly through irises. They are now lined up and doing well. Thank you Laura for another wonderful tutorial video.
Good Morning TC! Charlevoix here but now living in WY, zone 5B as well. I only plant the cold hardy succulents and love that I can pretty much ignore them all winter.
Hi Laura. Looks beautiful. Amazing job. Love your vids. Never miss any. Definitely going to have ago at that. You give me so much inspiration. Thank you. Best gardening channel on TH-cam. 👍👌❤
Laura, could you make a xeriscape in your garden? I'd love to see how you would go about planning the garden, amending the soil, selecting plants, and maintaining the area. Happy new year!
OMG I’m I sunny Queensland Australia and we are lucky to get 3 months in a tight scape like that. We like to place “babies” spread out and in about 6 mths we have to re-do the pot because they have grown too big and have their own babies. But I am totally inspired by your design Laura and might put a little more creativity into the next one. Thank you lovely 😊
Your videos are ALLLLWAYS helpful including this one. God blessed you and your family with so much knowledge and you share it. Thank you. I was watching this and felt you needed support, encouragement, or ? Not sure but God knows and will always help with everything ALLLLWAYS. Prayers and a huge thank you for this info on making an amazing arrangement. I'm gonna give it a try. 👍
It’s so pretty, Laura! I can’t tell you how much inspiration you give with each planting/arrangement/project. I’ve learned so much by simply enjoying you lovely videos. Thank you.
Good morning from sunny Florida🌞. Your succulent dish is beautiful and a good idea to put a charger underneath your dish. I love growing succulents, and I can grow them here all year long outside. I do have to deadhead some of mine even if they have proper lighting, some of them get so leggy. Have a wonderful day🌞❤🏝
Good morning GA & Laura! Nice video. Makes me want to run to Lowe’s and buy succulents! But I will be patient and wait! Thank you for keeping me inspired! 😊♥️
Inspired to try my own design. Might need a trip to the garden center in the near future. Beautiful arrangement. I have previously tried to transplant some succulents that were outside to inside and it was a complete failure. Thanks to you, I think I know what all my mistakes were in the process. Always look forward to my Garden Answer videos.
Hi Laura! Your arrangement came out so pretty! I love succulents, but can't seem to keep them alive. I've tried growing them a lot. Same with cacti. I keep wanting to try again, maybe some day..... I may just get some cold hardy succulents and plant them outside. My hens and chicks do great outside! Thank you so much for sharing and how to behead and start plants from leaves!
I really enjoy these house plant/succulent videos. I hope in the future when the weather gets warmer, and you go back into the garden again to work, you will still continue to do these indoor type of plant videos once in awhile. :)
I was never a succulent fan. But that was before I started watching your channel years ago! Thank you for this video. Everything was so well explained and demonstrated. Okay. Off to find some succulents to take apart!
My goodness! How many times have I watched you do this before and yet I was propagating my single leaves wrong. 🤦♀️ This is why it is so helpful when you repeat information. Thank you, happy holidays!
Great inspiration for the New Year! I love the time after Christmas when the house is clean and everything is fresh--can't wait to add a new succulent bowl and this is the perfect inspiration!
Good morning Laura and family, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, your arrangement is so adorable, I'm going to do any arrangement of succulent I have all the equipment thank you for sharing , have a great rest of the day ☺. PS we're still dry as a bone here in the Oklahoma Panhandle, we already had a fire northwest of town if I may ask for prayers for moisture thank you in advance.
Love this! Thank you for walking us through this. I cleaned up my succulent arrangement after watching and have some propagation babies going. Looking forward to seeing what I am able to do! Thank you Garden Answer!!!
Creating succulent arrangements and care is what first brought me to your channel many years ago. I have loved the journey and eagerly await every video. I’m watching this from a very very hot Perth Western Australia. 9pm at night and is still 30°c (86°f). Christmas Day was 45°c (113°f)
Beautiful succulent arrangement, Laura. Succulents are just so clean and tidy and interesting. Have you thought about possibly creating a cactus/succulent garden out in your south garden? That would be very interesting. Especially near a water feature. You could create an oasis of sorts…a rock garden around a pond with gravel mulch. That would be really nice. Since you are high desert there are probably a lot of cacti and succulents you could forage that would winter over. I have a huge Optunia in the front of my house in zone 6 New England. It gives me hundreds of yellow blooms on my birthday at the end of June every year. I adore it. It goes into dormancy when it gets cold and the pads shrivel, turn a reddish greenish color and lie down for their winter rest. Then in the spring the pads fill up and stand up again. I have read that there are some types of palm trees that will grow in zone 6 as well. However, we have a lot of rain here and as much as I love palm trees it was too much of a risky investment for me to try. I use BBQ tongs to clean out leaves and debris and weeds. Think about it, Laura. That would really be an interesting project….and a beautiful and different landscape feature.
Thanks so much for this video; I make my indoor succulent containers into Fairy Gardens by the season and this was how i found this channel so many years ago. I loved this because it's all testament of how successful a succulent garden will make you feel and propagating new ones makes so much sense and saves so much money!! Your arrangement is lovely and now makes me want to change out my Fall Fairy garden in my kitchen Garden window!! That window makes perfect "grow lights" here in my zone (6a, Indiana)! This also is very calming and therapeutic too especially in these colder Winter months! Thanks again for all your inspiration!
Thanks for the information. I'm so bad at gardening but I do have a shallow planter like this and I really don't know what to do with it. Now at least I know how to look after it. Have a great day 😊
Someone in the comments earlier asked if you would do a xeriscape garden somewhere on your property. I think this would be fun to see. Even if it was small like the butterfly garden. Love your channel, it always inspires me!
Good morning! Hope you had a peaceful (as peaceful as having young kids can be, lol), relaxing and restful Christmas. Now to get through to New Year’s and a beautiful year to start again.
Hi! I live in Southern California. There's a woman, Laura Eubanks, who has a TH-cam channel, Design for Serenity. She uses succulents and cacti. She's known for "succulent tapestry". She pronounces cotyledon cot-ill-eee-dun. There's no emphasis on any of the syllables. A zone 9 to 10 vegetable Gardner on TH-cam is Epic Gardening. I sure love your channel.

And 12 months succulents?? Is that through a subscription or something?? How COOL 🙌🥰
yes! Marie can you share the source? or have your kids call my kids hahaha! ;)

I enjoy watching your creative process. I had no idea you could “behead” a lanky succulent.
It’s so pretty, Laura! I can’t tell you how much inspiration you give with each planting/arrangement/project. I’ve learned so much by simply enjoying you lovely videos. Thank you.
You are talented in your craft! Thank you for a informative and fun video !
How wonderful! This spurs me on to create. Thank you.
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄🎄
Good morning from sunny Florida🌞.
Your succulent dish is beautiful and a good idea to put a charger underneath your dish. I love growing succulents, and I can grow them here all year long outside. I do have to deadhead some of mine even if they have proper lighting, some of them get so leggy.
Have a wonderful day🌞❤🏝
You are so talented!! You amaze me with each video! Thank you so much!
Good morning GA & Laura! Nice video. Makes me want to run to Lowe’s and buy succulents! But I will be patient and wait! Thank you for keeping me inspired! 😊♥️
I found a bunch of succulents on clearance at Lowes just before the holiday. You might wanna run over there and check to see what they have!
Lowe’s doesn’t do a good job taking care of the succulents.
We love propagating lots of different things in addition to succulents. Thanks for all the great information!!
Good morning, Laura I love your channel. 🌲BLESSED BE!💖 Very educational.
Always the perfect amount of detail in your videos.
Great video and very educational. Your time and effort is most appreciated
I love how you set the pot with rocks, it's a beauty and I would love to put rainbows light orbs that small glass orbs. It's very beautiful
Lovely arrangement what a difference the driftwood and stones make.
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄🎄
Hey I got a wandering jew plant from my son's girlfriend for xmas!!! I just remembered that you did a video on one!! How neat!!!

Gorgeous arrangement! Thanks for the additional info about beheading as well!
Air plants on moss on top of that wreath would be pretty with the succulents below.
Merry Christmas 🎄☃️🎄
I really enjoy these house plant/succulent videos. I hope in the future when the weather gets warmer, and you go back into the garden again to work, you will still continue to do these indoor type of plant videos once in awhile. :)
This was so educational; I’m new at propagating succulents, so this video really helps.
I was never a succulent fan. But that was before I started watching your channel years ago! Thank you for this video. Everything was so well explained and demonstrated. Okay. Off to find some succulents to take apart!
I always learn something new watching your channel. The charger saucer is perfect! Thank you! 🪴💚🪴
Love this. So many good gift ideas for DIL’s with winter birthdays. Thank you! They love succulents!
My goodness! How many times have I watched you do this before and yet I was propagating my single leaves wrong. 🤦♀️
This is why it is so helpful when you repeat information. Thank you, happy holidays!

Great inspiration for the New Year! I love the time after Christmas when the house is clean and everything is fresh--can't wait to add a new succulent bowl and this is the perfect inspiration!
Makes me think of spring!

I love the deconstruction videos! And old arrangement to new arrangement videos!
So glad for this video I was just wanting to learn about succulent arrangements.
Great information and a beautiful arrangement, thank you!

Oh no....now I have a new hobby. Lol
Thanks for always keeping us going through winter.
Wow didn't know suculents were so easy to propagate. Thanks for sharing.
I love succulents! I envied you when you received that huge shipment of them. Thank you for this video. I learned a lot from it.
That looks gorgeous🥰
Merry Christmas Linda 🎄☃️🎄

Really great tips. Love the driftwood and charger ideas.
Have a great day 😊
Hi 👋 Debbie how are you doing?
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
@@johnnycharles319 you’re a creeper! Go away!
Someone in the comments earlier asked if you would do a xeriscape garden somewhere on your property. I think this would be fun to see. Even if it was small like the butterfly garden. Love your channel, it always inspires me!
Love your succulent videos. It’s inspiring and a great reminder of what’s possible! 🪴
I would enjoy seeing you do a small succulent area in your yard with native succulents.
Wow 🤩 how beautiful. You’re so creative. I hope you do a follow up on the leaves & how to pot them on. Ohhh I so want to try this now.
Thank you…I-learned a lot that I was wondering about…..and love the arrangement too💕
And you used my pink echaverieas! So beautiful!!!
