I just found your channel this morning. I absolutely love your tutorials! I’ve been putting off several home improvement projects, but you’ve given me the motivation I needed to get started. Thank you!
I have painted furniture my bedroom set dresser, bed ,night stand and I've painted a fireplace to I love the way they turned out, yours turned out great , great job.
Now this was a project journey!! Wow!!! Your sideboard turned out exquisite especially with the added touch of the 🐝 knobs!! Thank youuuu for always sharing amazing DIY tips for home crafters!!!
Great job Niki. We live and we learn so take this project as a learning event because I’m preparing to paint a dresser for my granddaughter and now I know what to do!
Thank you so much! I try to make all my videos like this! Engaging but also explaining enough. Thanks so much for your feedback!!! It truly helps when editing! ❤️❤️
I’m so glad I found your channel today! It’s a cloudy, snowy day and watching your video has given me inspiration and motivation to start back up on some refinishing projects. I’ve had a couple projects that did not come out like my vision and it gets frustrating. I’m trying to be better as thinking of it as a plot twist instead of a fail. Thanks again for sharing your projects. BTW, I’m obsessed with the bee knobs!
Embarking upon painting kitchen cabinets, I so needed this info/video! I hope the cabinets come out as beautiful as your furniture piece did. Thanks much ☺
I have a laminate over pressboard chest of drawers, that has its original finish. I’ve learned from you -prime! Thanks also for the sheen recommendation also.
I’ve got two laminate pieces that i’m getting ready to paint black as well. You’ve inspired me to be able to do it. I just took the doors off and the hardware. I went and got that same primer that you have and had them to try to tint it a little darker for me. It turned out a light gray color, which still may help that black paint cover better. I’ll let you know how it turned out when I’m done. Thanks again.
Looks so beautiful! Thanks for showing your behind the scene flops. It is nice to know that these things happen to you too. I noticed you had white paint on the outside side of the drawers. How would you remove that?
Thanks! The white is overspray from when I first painted it with my sprayer. I could probably paint that part again in an even coat of white. I don’t think there is an easy way to remove it at this point.
I didn’t and no scratches. The new paint I used is the secret, but you can add clear coat on top. It won’t hurt it. I actually brought it but didn’t use it.
Did you sand the laminate before adding the primer or just gave it a good clean? My dresser is brown no paint and I want to do exactly what you did but this is my first refurbish
Thank you for watching! I did not have to sand as this primer does all the work! It makes life way easier not worrying about sanding! This dresser is still intact to this day. I use it on the daily and there are no chips. Don’t skimp on the primer, the one i used and recommended is a must for it to work! Let me know if you have any other questions
Looks great, I have pieces Orienyal cherry wood that I would love to paint but I think I need to Hire someone. I don't want to get rid of them but they need a makeover
I have noticed that quite a few DIY extraordinars on TH-cam also, like yourself- here, don’t remove drawers when painting. May I ask why and if there are benefits? If there is logically no benefits of removing, painting f wisnthe drawers and it saves me some time… When I dmy kitchen, husband’s vanity, two nightstands with drawers and a dresser, bathroom vanity (which was a hiuuuge waste of time as we had a pipe burst two days before we were sent to move into the new home… but as bummed as I was the vanity couldn’t be saved,!&we got a $10,000, beautiful vanity, white druzy quartz counter, so… fine… but still… hahah and it was the first and ugliest peice I did… ) Anyways, I am not understanding why there isn’t a need to remove the drawers ‘. I am about to redo the idea laminate nightstands and if I can’t paint around the drawers, but with precise results, I’ll be one happy woman!
People just sand your stuff, it works out 100 percent, and it's not that big of a deal yes oil base takes longer to dry, but the finish will last longer oil base paints and finishes are not hard to use really !!
I love that you are so honest about the challenges that you run into. Great job.
Thank you! I like sharing that! And I’m glad it resonates with you!
It’s beautiful -l love the knobs, especially the bee knobs.
I have a laminate dresser that I want to update and this video REALLY gave me some insights on what to do...thank you. Your project came out great!!!

Awesome job!!! I just started myself & i love it.❤❤❤❤
Scuff sanding on laminate always is best before priming and painting. Also lightly sanding between coats can remove brush strokes.
Embarking upon painting kitchen cabinets, I so needed this info/video!
I hope the cabinets come out as beautiful as your furniture piece did. Thanks much ☺
They will just be patient!!! It takes time, but you got this! Thanks so much
I love it Niky! 💛💛💛💛

Im a satin girl too. Ty for the tips!
It’s the best right!
Those handles make all the difference. I like the bee knobs, too.
Thank you! I love the bee knobs too! ❤️❤️
It looks so neautiful. Did you pit a clear coat on over the black paint?
I didn’t and no scratches. The new paint I used is the secret, but you can add clear coat on top. It won’t hurt it. I actually brought it but didn’t use it.

Thank you for sharing what didn’t work!
I AGREE! Thanks!
Is that latex paint by chance? I made that mistake once...never again though. It happens and it's how we learn! Nice job!
Why don’t you recommend Vitra-strip if you have a lot of grooves? And what would you recommend?
It was very hard to clean the citristrip out. For that, I would just try to sand and use primer over it!
I am also planning to paint my kitchen and pantry
LOVE the bee knobs!! #KHive This was a gorgeous makeover. I loved it white, too. Just a whole different look. Thanks for the inspiration!
How is she not wrecking her nail polish? Great info as I have some Sauder pieces that I want to paint.
Looks great, I have pieces Orienyal cherry wood that I would love to paint but I think I need to Hire someone. I don't want to get rid of them but they need a makeover
According to Google you can use water-based paint if you prime the surface the correct way.
Yeah probably, i did it wrong the 1st time around.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Okay, it sounds like you removed the drawers to get the frame… Thanks for the tips!!!!
Kud kutter is the best
I like using it too!
Such a beautiful wood grain. Covered in white ☹️
