Awsome job with this step by step video. Anyone else start planning on moding this after watching this. I particularly don't travel with the seat on, so I defiantly don't want to have it permanently screwed in.
Tyler - Great video. With you dealing with Feel Free Lure 11.5, by chance do you know what the scupper length is from the deck to the underside of the hull. Thanks
Thanks Martin! Unfortunately I do not know what that is off hand and no longer have any 11.5s to measure it. That said, be careful what you put in them. Anything like scupper carts or stakeouts through the scuppers are a recepie for disaster since that is the weakest part of most rotomolded kayaks and impossible to fix. If you are thinking of using it for a transducer mount that'll be no issue. I know the lowrance scupper kit works on them. Tight lines!
Yeah I have one I use for when I'm actually working on kayaks, I just use manual tools for instructional videos so people can see the less expensive tool option. It is quite difficult using a manual tool while filming :-)
It will fit, but your steering would have to stay at the back seat unless you get creative with the plumbing for the steering cables... And you would have to get creative with how to secure the pedals in the front pod hole....
@@SmallCraftFisherman Thanks for the quick response. Any suggestion on how to secure the pedals in the front? The wall is too far away to make the bracket work. Also is there a longer S bracket as the one that come with the unit is too short?
Nice video ! I’ll probably add the overdrive unit to my Lure 11.5 with my existing rudder . The hand control looks a little tedious , but the video should help with the installation. Where do you recommend relocating the transducer from the sonar pod to ?

Love the information, step by step makes me want to switch to feel free for this spring.
Awesome video bud , very informative , step by step . Nice job
+Adventures101 Thanks man!
great videohow is the drive doing
Doing well! I beat the hell out of it. Broke 2 shear pins but that was right after install - needed to tighten the prop more.

@@SmallCraftFisherman I was thinking of using the location for a transducer mount. Your thoughts. Thanks,
Should work great! I know people that have used the lowrance scupper mount
@@SmallCraftFisherman Thanks for advising. I will inquire with Lowrance as I'm not sure who a supplier would be in the Toronto, Canada area. Be safe.
Good job Tyler.
Seriously, buy a small power screwdriver; it’s painful watching you struggle to do this manually lol 😆
Edit: but thanks for this instructive video!

Can I install the pedal overdrive at the front of a tandem kayak?

Honestly not sure, never tried it for those reasons :-)
looking into getting this unit just wanted to know the drive when ordered it comes with the seat adjuster is this right
+leo ybarra Correct. The main drive unit comes with the seat adjuster. You have to add on the rudder and hand control if you don't already have them.
