I really appreciate this video! Unfortunately I think, as a beginner, this is too complex/intimidating for me. For the same price I could choose a Hobie passport or Pelican HD and it's all ready to go out of the box, so to speak.
I'm having 13.5 buyers remorse. I have yet to see a 13.5 get this installed. I've heard it requires more hardware because the cutting board lid is in the way and the bracket was designed to mount on the bulk head of an 11.5. For the longest time Feel Free had page that showed how the drive system and steering would work that never required the removal of the pedals. That page has now been scrubbed from their website. I fish off the coast which requires paddling through surf, and on a 13.5 requires the use of foot controlled pedals to steer the bow into the waves. If I buy one of these, which I doubt now, would require paddling out until I was deep enough to deploy it without the worry of being pushed back in to shallow water. The overdrive is a big disappointment, and so is my 13.5 purchase.
Well, I wanted the feelfree but will probably get the old town predator pdl now instead. Everything should come installed and ready to go. Don't want to go through all this hassle and risk messing something up on install.
Hello! Thanks for watching! We actually do offer versions of both the Lure 11.5 and 13.5 that come with the whole Overdrive system preinstalled if you are still interested in them. You can check them out at these links: ack.com/5116 for the 11.5 and ack.com/w7mb for the 13.5. That said, the Predator PDL is also an excellent choice, so you can't really go wrong!
I wanted to know the same thing. Hell you can't find anything on this, like they have no clue from kayak shops and Feelfree them selves. I have the Moken V2 also
@@davidross1576 Ya i'm going to try it and order one and if I don't like it , I'll either buy a Lure 13.5 or just sell the pedal drive since their had to get a hold of right now, shouldn't be hard to re-sale ! I have the Moken V2 now and it does pretty good as long you have the beaver tail rudder. lol
@@davidross1576 I'm also looking into buying a Bixpy power drive unit. haven't really made up my mind yet. lol The price between the both are a few hundred dollars. So far on the bixpy slowing me down on buying it is the 1hr 10min battery life on high power. lol
Hey Dr. D, thanks! That is great. I suspected as much. Looking forward to hearing of your on water experience.

Great video. Will the OD pedal system also work on my Moken 12.5?

Do you have to have the seat adjustors for the overdrive?
So they make an overdrive system for the 3 waters big fish?
Well looks like car topping is a no go with that new seat design
Trolling motor it is!
Can the overdrive be used with BF120?
What is the adjustment knob on the hand control do? I see it in the video but you don't reference what it does or how to use it.
Hey there! Sorry we glossed over that bit, but that nob is there to adjust tension on the control handle. Hope that helps!
Can the Overdrive be installed in the sonar pod opening on the new Moken 12.5?

Yep, that is the ONLY thing causing me to hesitate getting the Moken 12.5 v2. Looks like a great boat.

Doctor Death cool, i’d love to hear how it works.
