nice and easy! i learned from doing it myself that if you don't want to damage the plastic panels as much, you can use a mallet to tap the rear one rear-ward, and then remove the windshield garnish to give space to mallet tap the front panel forward, and then the centre one can be tapped forward or backward whichever way the pin clip slots can move. but tearing straight up ward can be fine too if the temperature isn't too cold. anyway, i'm loving following your part replacement adventures! :)
I popped off my roof rack covers and installed tie down spots for my kayak. 4x 1 1/2" 10m bolts with 3 nuts and a large washer to stick up and hook on to. I throw old carpet tiles on the roof under the boat to keep the kayak from scratching the top. 2 strap ratchet tiedowns (properly laced) holds it perfectly snug for interstate speeds .
I have the black trim and I have to keep up with giving them a coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restore to keep them looking black and new looking 2 times a yr.

I'll try that when I do the other side. Thanks!

That's a slick idea!
Thank for the video!!!
My pleasure!
Looks good. I typically use a weatherstrip adhesive to keep the rubber seals in place.
Great tip! I ordered some today.

The grey stuff is ok but I like the black.
Quick question. Did you have to put any kind of silicone or sealant in the holes in the roof before you snapped the pieces in place?
I did not. But I do think I have a leak near the hatch on the roof seam. Someday I'll have to address that.
@@clintsearcy3252 Ok thanks 🙏 😊
