"We"?? I hear you but its still a very small segment hence why this is so surprising for his age. Me and everyone I know got a used car as their first car especially. I know a family that had four kids that all drove the same 1988 Honda Civic Hatchback up until 2004
a rich-man's element for sure. looks awesome. probably the best I've seen. I just bought an 06 with 79k miles in great condition. looking forward to outfitting it.
I absolutely love to see the younger generation being productive instead complaining about how this country owes them something. Great build kid, keep it up.
Great build. David's website has some good stuff. I'm in the winter of my life, but longing for an Element. The very first scene has inspired me. His "Japanese plate reminded of my 67 Honda N360 that I brought home from Japan in 1970. One of the first things I will do to personalize mine is to recreate my Japanese license plate number, which was **67. If you compare the look of the N360 (N600 in the US) to the Element, they are very similar.
Cool build and really stoked to see how much thought David has put into all the little things that make his rig very useful as well as fun! Also.. yeah I never have anything other than receipts in that center console either lol.
7:25 The funny thing is that this dude walked the foot ledges and ladders up and down like nothing and barely had to use his hands while in reality I'd be hugging like a Kaola, breaking my neck trying to find my next ledge.
A couple of thoughts: 1) I wonder how he installed the shore power thing to his. I honestly don't camp much, but I still think having power hook-up would be a cool add. 2) The push button start thing. I love push starts, but I had read or heard they can be problematic and not worth doing? If they are as reliable as key start, I'd definitely look to do that one to mine!
I made it to the end. What a great review! There were so many impressive sweet Elephonte mods that made me stop and think, "JuiceBox could benefit from that same mod." Only to realize my ADHD caused me to miss the next mod being reviewed. This brings me back to the beginning of my comment, I made it to the end... twice. I had to start over because there was so much happening. 😅
❤ Yesterday at 7.30am I just arrived to my 300000 miles. I'm so happy with my car. Do not give me any problem. Obviously I have to give him a TLC for sure but older than that is running fine. I was thinking to buy another car and keep this one. But now that I see your numbers I want to get to 400000 miles. Will be a challenge but i will take it.
Taking me back to the 90's when parents at least middle and below class bought their kids used or hand me down vehicles with low insurance rates and easy to fix themselves. Nice to see, now these kids are driving their parents Lexus SUV's and Teslas...etc 🙄
you make me a proud owner of a 03 element, and I have been taking good care, 139,763 miles. can't wait to upgrade the air intake, I want to improve performance. tell us what you do to keep it alive at 400,000 miles! Please....
Just take care of your E and it’ll take care of you. Keep up with maintenance on a strict and frequent schedule, better to be early than late. Don’t get discouraged when something goes wrong, just get through it and you’ll never regret it. It’s easy to fall out of love when something big fails, costs a lot of money, time, stress etc. If you catch yourself in that situation, just remember that once it’s over, you’ll be able to continue to drive a car you’ll love even more
🥸 this is hype. very intentional and thoughtful setup, my dude. wonderful to see the toaster parts logo on the side of the Element.. i helped David to design it! we shall meet someday!
Hello from NYC, I'm currently looking for an Element, and because I'm not a mechanic and a woman of a certain age, I'm looking for something under 100K miles. What else do you recommend I look for in a used Element other than the factory stickers, (to check for replaced body panels), rust, knocks, pings. etc. Thanks
For someone up North rust would definitely be one of the biggest concerns. Not many cars make it past the 7 years mark up there without showing some serious signs of rust. For that reason make sure to apply Fluid Film at least once a year under the frame, suspension, etc to slow down the rusting process. If you know how to drive a stick shift it would help you with longer term reliability. For any offroading an AWD would be beneficial, suspension lift perhaps also. Get a mechanic check it out before you buy it
For an Element with under 100k miles expect to pay $10,000 plus. With that mileage, they are basically collector cars. Rust is the biggest thing to look out for then the mechanics. Check out my friends video that walks you through exactly what to look for.
@@junkedelements ~ I am prepared to pay that much for one in great shape. Coincidentally, I'm currently watching your video from last year with you an Alex traveling cross country. I'll check out his video too. Thanks 🙂
@@MrRightNow ~ Yeah you are absolutely right about rust in the NE. I just got rid of a perfectly good 2004 Toyota Sienna due to rust in all the wrong places. I'm definitely looking for the EX 4WD Element and will probably get it lifted. No manual drive though. Thanks for the tips.
Just don't know why HONDA hasn't revisited the Element, this would be the perfect time to bring the Element back as at least a Hybrid, not electric though.
You got all that money into that thing, next thing you should buy is a new brake pedal pad lol. Looks a little worn. On a serious note, how does the engine hold up with all the added weight? I would think it's sluggish.
How much money have you put into this? It's really nice, but mine is simple and inexpensive, plus I don't have the car covered with things that scream: "Steal Me!"

It’s all preference. the convenience of being able to easily find parking with this type of conversion is a huge plus. if you’re a bigger person that needs a sprinter go ahead and convert a sprinter @oneshiftmexico lol big vans are nice but aren’t ideal unless you’re full time living in it. But Elephonte is a good rig for weekender/overlander getaways.
Bruh who cares what yall say or think, especially when you haven’t built a conversion rig/rv/camper. I can guarantee the original commenter doesn’t know how to use a hammer, let alone a drill.
Amazing build! I love that as a country we are saying middle finger to new cars and instead building up older cars! Love it!
