      DN that's great to become famous today but if you want to be a legend you gotta write a book history is written in books you are the legend kid poker! please some day when you're finished covering all your strategies you want to explore.
      but know, you have many fans waiting for "kid poker strategy" book. we're waiting for it. and when you're an old legend not here anymore, you gotta set on stone per say what you are about.
      every great legend writes an autobiography.
      your autobiography will be more of an inspiration than ANY OF YOUR STRATEGY. we want to know your story of going from home in Canada and dreaming of Vegas and trying over and over. that's what gets the rest of us gunning and dreaming for Vegas even more!

    It reminds me in chess of making what is a sub optimal move just to get your opponent out of their preparation. Obviously this doesn't work against chess engines that see 50 moves ahead (the analogy of GTO optimal play) but against humans playing something you are comfortable with that your opponent isn't can give you a huge edge

    I'm not supermega pokerstar but what I have noticed when I used to play poker a lot in UNI days, If you're quite conservative player, pickup some pots with a showdown in the beginning of the game with solid cards, occasionally limp but fold to an aggressor, try limping and just calling an aggressor later down the line. suddenly your hand will look quite strong and people will respect that although you maybe just have an 9-6 off. this conservative + occasional limp approach gives room for great bluffs.

    • @sherbetyeezys8648
      @sherbetyeezys8648 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was doing this last night and was picking up some decent pots with bottom pair or chaising a straight people would just fold assuming I had the hand already when I was trying to build a pot if I hit the straight. I also do the opposite sometimes, go to cheap showdowns early with nothing so I look like I bluff more then I do then when I start getting hands I crack people trying to call the bluff.

    The best spots I see in my games for implementing limping strats are when you're in the 25 - 35 bb range at an aggressive table. Since the common strats these days involve so much light three betting, a lot of times in tournaments I'm able to 4 bet jam, super light and get away with it and pad my stack with very average hands like 6/7suited. Many times the action will go I limp, someone raises attacking my limp, then someone in late position knows that person is attacking my limp so they three bet light, then boom hit them with the 4 bet jam after and they fold almost every single time.

    The people I'm playing against aren't thinking this deep about why I'm limping. If I limp, someone in mid position is going ship his entire 100BB stack into a 3BB pot. He's going to have any hand he considers "decent". Could be aces, but also 2 2. Could be 6 7 suited or AK unsuited. I find that limping hands that connect well works. I only really take it to river when I'm pretty nutted, and they'll pretty much take it to all in with second pair.

    I've always preferred to just limp even if I have a monster hand. I like to trap an opponent. Of course you have to be able to pick the right spots to try and bluff a hand. I'm just not a fan of throwing chips into the pot with a low chance of winning unless your plan is to bluff. If your opponents know that you'll check or limp with a monster hand then I don't see how they can see those decisions to be an automatic weak hand. Of course balance is key and mixing up your game is ideal. So far my play style has been working great and I've taken my game to another level after watching the pro's play and understanding the depth of this game and watching alot of videos on TH-cam. Instincts also play a very important part at winning at poker. I love how complicated of a game it is and cant wait to keep improving and being a good poker player.

    If you have range advantage, you can bet the bigger sizing ? I thought it meant you can bet more frequently, and you needed the nut advantage to bet bigger.
    In the first hand, with A6d, you have the range advantage, so you want to bet small to protect your ace high. You can optionally bet bigger on the turn, as either a stone cold bluff, or if the turn helps you, or if you had something good on the flop.

    I can hear people now. "Yeah, I told ya limping was good under the gun!" That is NOT what Daniel said here. What Daniel showed was limping was workable strategy as long as you play it balanced and understand ranges and how the board hits (or doesn't hit) each person range post flop. Ask yourself if you are good enough to pull this off? Hmmmm.... I bet most of us are not.

      You are correct. This strategy is far more complex and more difficult to effectively study

      @@dnegspoker just wait - very soon the trolls will show up with their "but if you didn't go runner runner quads against full house you wouldn't have won" speech :-). Great job on that win, btw.

    How to win a tournament, play a sit and go that's smaller than the field at your local dog track,poker room. That's how you win 3 million dollars. We had some Joe Schmo nice guy at my local dog track take down $165,000 on a $400 Buy in the other day down in Biloxi against 3600 entrants. That's impressive
