1) If you feel the 996 feels a bit heavy during turn in just lift it 10..15 mm. Looks like you’ve gone a bit too low. A 10 mm drop will drop the roll centers about 27 mm which will negate partly the increased roll stiffness of the stiffer springs. Because of the amplified RC drop you need stiffer AR-bars which then make the suspension very warp-stiff and ultimately nervous and uncomfortable. But also if you go too low the turn in will become heavy feeling, feels like the car reacts a bis slow. I got the Bilstein B16 kit and tried it on quite a few ride heights (20-50 mm) and ended up to the compromise of 22 mm drop at front and 25 at rear. Also went back to the original front AR-bar. I think my car is pretty much as good now for an uneven B-road as it can be with these gears. 2) It would nice to hear your comparison between the 996 and 991. Not really about the things you can see but how they feel. How different is the sensation? The thing is geometrically the suspension of these cars are not that different. The 991 is bigger and of course your 996 (unfortunately) is a 4wd and about a 100 kgs over weight cmprd to C2. Even so the weight bias is not that different. Every time I drive my 996 C2 it makes me feel deep gratitude. It is quite emotional. The car is very reactive, feels like it is part of you. There is a feel of lightness and effortless in every maneuvre.
Looks mint now TGE! The Turbo front splitter makes all the difference to the front end stance. I actually paid for my 996 Turbo today, super excited to get it!!!!
Here on the island I live we probably have around 20 996, of which at least 3 are 4S, two silver and one in identical exterior spec to yours, down to the exhaust tips. Heard it driven in anger once, lovely noise. You got it at the right price, I doubt it will go any lower than 30k. Drive it, enjoy it, sell for a profit, nothing wrong with that. I have a soft spot for the 996 4S and turbos.

Loving the 996, the colour is beautiful, the mods are genuinely so subtle from the proper colour on the rims to the stance which is now perfect, you’re definitely a man who knows what’s what when it comes to cars, it’s definitely a case of less is more and keeping things OEM is the future 😂
Such a great project. This vintage of C4S adorned by bedroom wall, far beyond the time that I should have had a Porsche on my bedroom wall! Needless to say, the quality of the work looks fantastic. 👌

I can't believe the value of 996's. I know for certain it's a car that in 10 years time plenty of people will be kicking themselves for not buying. I just wish I had a spare £30k and somewhere to store one 😂

You’re out-geezered. I’m 70 and have owned a ‘77 S. I currently own a ‘03 996 and it is a great car. Better? In some ways, yes.
