Thank you Don !! It means a lot to me, you're a legend ! 🤘🏻🔥
@@xtheyan 🙏 I’m humbled Tyvm bro greatly appreciate your support 💯👽 breeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeee eee e.
Holy shit even got don commenting on here this is great
You guys were my mid and late teens. Still got a Perverse Recollections shirt that I fucking treasure my boy
Dude! To even be in the presence right now! Me and my buddies would always rock your shit dude. You're the whole reason I learned to pig squeel. Breeeeeee
Probably one of the most unique and underrated vocalist .
100%
All of us in our 30s are getting the dose of nostalgia we didnt know we needed. keep ALL of the myspacecore coming my man
That's awesome to hear !! And I will 🔥
ha 69 likes had to unlike
@@shymphony.horror some fuckhead had to ruin it before I got the screenshot. I appreciate your effort to remain true to the 69
Not only were they incredible and unfairly hated and shitted on, but they came back with their best album yet all these years later. Amazing band.
I still prefer Real-Life Death but I get your point
This band was really ahead of their time in terms of breaking the barriers of what's considered slam and what's considered Deathcore. I think these guys made the best music ever without any stigma in their mind of how it would be received. And young me who loved slam and Deathcore equally, I was all here for it
One of the most underrated/disrespected bands from that era. If they started coming out today people would be losing their shit. Also one of if not the first meme metal videos ever. “Shredded wheat”
That's true, its funny how all depends on the place and time you release a project! I think they are legends
Also cant wait for you annotations of an autopsy video! 😉
Very good band. Just don't like their degenerate lyrics
@@JinxTheFluffyFoxdon't worry you can't hear him saying any of them :)
@@JinxTheFluffyFoxyou would really hate Waco Jesus or Torsofuck then 😂
Great video! I’ve always loved Waking the Cadaver, so it’s been surreal to see them critically rehabbed in recent years and retconned into a classic MySpace band. They were just caught in a really tough spot culture-wise back in the day: too deathcore associated for metal purists, and waaaay too slam/brutal death influenced for a casual metalcore/deathcore audience. The True Kings of False Slam!
This is like the only sensible comment here lol. They were NOT part of of the MySpace scene at all, unless you said you liked them ironically. You might as well have been a juggalo if you were an unironic WTC fan in 2007.
There are no typical slam bands. Some plan their slams maticulously, while others slam on impulse
Devourment
@@atvena Okay, that's one of my favorite bands, but why bring them up other than they're slam?
Wheaaaat!
That era was the best because deathcore was closely linked to the hardcore scene overall instead of the metal scene and a lot of bands were experimenting with not just sounds but structure. I remember seeing basement, restaurant and garage shows with deathcore & hardcore bands mixed with some nu-metal bands. The death metal & extreme metal elitists were super snobbish about it all for a while. I kinda reminded me of the early hardcore punk era where bands & fans didn't care anymore about musical virtuosos or supreme technicality or gear or fancy super deep lyrics. Like it went back to basics on just trying to be brutal as F and expressive and aggressive and embrace a kind of deceptively simple but nuanced approach. It also felt authentic.
That's a great perspective on things !!
On point boiiii
The best new slam bands are going back to this philosophy now but just like in 06 the cornball technical stuff is still the mainstream
Definitely! Especially the last word, authentic. The aggression was real
They easily had one of the most violent shows that I had experienced back when I was in highschool. They had such strange presence and were the most aggressive pioneering deathcore, slammy gore groove bands back in that time.
They sure are legends 🤘🏻🔥
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels!! You truly have a love for the music and appreciation for the history!
Thank you very much ! I appreciate 🤘🏻
This channel will be huge!
@@xtheyan im reliving 2007
They were one of the first bands create Slamming Deathcore
Yes , what a great band
Great video man, I love WTC.
I had created a WTC fan page on MySpace in 2007 and Roy from NecroHarmonic production wanted it to become the official WTC street team. It was an honor and had loads of fun doing that 🙏
That's so rad!!
It's a shame they've just been labeled as a meme. Super dope band that deserves respect.
Yes , they are amazing
They’ve been a meme bruh. But we love them
BEYOND COPS is absolute fire from front to back dawg! It's like Dying Fetus with better songwriting and more hardcore input 🔥
All i can think of is the videos in like 2008, people made like bad lip readings. Lol wheat, shredded wheat, shred em and weeeeeeep. Love the nostalgia your videos have been giving me. Please do the breakup of ismfof next
Thank you man 🤘🏻🔥
Discovering this channel has been such an incredible nostalgia blast. I was a heavy Myspace user from 2005 to 2010 and that era introduced me to deathcore among so much other stuff. Keep up the great work!
Thank you ! It's such a great feeling to go back in time and remember those amazing days
WTC had the best snare of any deathcore band ever!!! Loving your content! (Plus pls do a Despised Icon vid please and thank you)😎
100% agree and of course I'll do Despised Icon haha
@@xtheyan I would be very surprised if you didnt do one on them🤣 really loving your channel, reminds me of being 15 again!
@@Gammaknife97 Thanks a lot haha , I have the same feeling while doing the videos 🤘🏻
Finally an interesting band, who actually played hc/bdm mix.
If you’re from that era, it’s gonna be really interesting if you can do video about “The Taste of Blood”. They were way ahead of the time.
That record “Predator” from 2005 was insanely heavy and still it will blow away almost any modern heavy band.
Also really interesting -
Animosity, Killing Theory, Embrace The End (counting hallways to the left), Cast From Eden, Glass Casket, Through the eyes of the Dead, Wings of Scarlet, From a second story window, Premonitions of War, The Red Chord, Blood Has Been Shed, Embodyment, Abnegation and many other OG bands who started the genre and not a lot of people knows that nowadays.
Thanks yeah I'll look into that 🤘🏻🔥
@@xtheyan 🤝
Dude I remember finding chased through the woods on myspace back in highschool and just laughing my ass off because I'd never heard anything like it. I didn't even like it but I would still just drive through parking lots blasting it to be as obnoxious as possible. Then after listening to it like 15-20 times I actually started genuinely liking the song and them as a band. Nowadays they're in regular rotation for me and I absolutely love the band. They single handedly started my journey into slam, grind and other stuff like that, even though I didn't know it at the time.
That's so cool ! It's awesome when something starts as a joke and then, you get really into it .. thanks for sharing your story 🤘🏻🔥
Hey man I appreciate you giving me some feedback, I agree about seeing different things. I listen to a lot of DSBM, so I'm not unfamiliar with "different" vocal styles. So all I'll say is different strokes for different folks. Keep it up brother!
exactly ! That's the beauty of music and art, is that everybody has different taste .. and different feelings while listening to a song 🤘🏻
Don Campan and Mike Mayo are the homies
Waking The Cadaver is a really good band. Their latest album is absolutely crushing. Real Life Death and Beyond Cops Beyond God are awesome too. Perverse Recollections… is a bit odd sounding vocals/mix wise but I still think it’s solid. People like to make fun of them but I think they’re genuinely good.
I think so too !! They are amazing
Bro, you can’t just hit me with the breakdown to Money Power Death out of nowhere. Gave me goosebumps and I had to pause the shit. 16:03
hahah I had goodebumps while editing
This is one of my favorite series on TH-cam, it really brings back a ton of memories! I remember writing these guys off, because they caught a lot of flack from the "true heads" in the scene, but this video made me want to go back and give them another go.
Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you !! My goal is to give those bands the credit they deserve 🤘🏻
I remember hearing chased through the woods when i was like 9-10 years old and seeing the misheard lyrics video that was going around and just absolutely falling in love with them. I've been a massive fan of WtC. Every album is nothing but banger imo. They helped me evolve into a slam/death metal fan that I am now. The nostalgia this video brought me is insane.
Wow !! I'm so glad you had a great time watching 🤘🏻And thanks for sharing your story 🔥
i remember being in 7th grade in 2007 and watching the original Bloodsplattered Satisfaction music video on youtube and immediately falling in love with this band. learning they were from the next town over from me in new jersey was so insane i couldn't believe people local to me were so incredibly talented. this band means so much to me man i ALWAYS fucked with the aggressive, over-the-top vocal style from the 2006 demo and I still think the mix on that is the absolute best they've ever sounded on record.
Sick video man.. waking the cadaver is one of my favorite bands, especially from the myspace era.. they were ahead of their time for real. But, if im not mistaken, i think Lord Marco is playing drums for them right now. And their most recent stuff is fn heavy as shit man, and that snare tone, is absolutely insane. Thanks for sharing this video. Much appreciated. 🤘🤘
These guys are my favorite band of all time! Just absolute brutal and raw heaviness
unique leader are the best extreme metal label in the scene rn, to the grave, waking the cadaver, crown magnetar, humanitys last breath, worm shapherd, vulvodynia, the last ten seconds of life, bound in fear and the list goes on dude, crazy stacked label
Yeah exactly !! All extremely talented while crazy heavy
Been coming across a lot of your videos here recently. The nostalgia hitting home bad close to hitting 40….. wild and crazy brother. Thank you for finally talking about this highly unappreciated underrated band! Band is so brutal in so many great ways. To Dons grutals to lows all awesome and unique. The slams the breakdowns so epic! Definitely a band that’s in my top 5 favorites of all time during this MySpace era….. ugh miss those days….
I will never get the hate this band's first album still gets online. It's got tons of genuinely great songs and solid slam parts all the way through. The vocals are also really unique, which imo is a big plus to any slam or slam-adjacent release.
Unique is definitely a way to put it
I am from Sayreville, NJ and have been listening to these dudes since their debut. Don's vocals are amazing and many dont understand the talent that this guttural tone requires. He uses it as an instrument and it perfectly matches the key, timing, breakdowns etc. to make you feel good. Thanks for the vid man!
Ahhh I absolutely LOVE this band so much 🥹🖤 thanks for doing a video about them ❤️
You're welcome !! They're one of my favorite bands 🤘🏻🔥
WTC will always RULE!!!! I bought their newest album on VINYL. It's so sick !
Shredded wheat!! Love your channel lol so nostalgic for me
Glad you've covered them!
To this day i still get goosebumps when i hear their music
All the stuff they've put out are straight bangers, even their "bad" second album have only one or two skips
Exactly, it's always good !! 🤘🏻
Cheers from Mexico, love this video and WTC🤟🏼
Never been a walking the cadaver girlie myself but the history is also so interesting- got into deathcore just as myspace was dying and don't know a lot of this stuff since i was like 9 in 2007
Well I hope you can relive those days through my content 🤘🏻
Awesome vid man. Always interesting to find out about bands like this.
Thanks my fellow Canadian ! Dude great job
I still love and listen to waking the cadaver today . Never forget the first time I heard chased 🤙 shot gun pump
Dude I swear every single one of your videos is so on point, keep up the brutal content! 🤘
Thank you so much 🤘🏻
This was a walk down memory lane.. They first called themselves Leviathan but another band copyrighted it before they could.. so they changed their name to Death to Honor.. When Dennis became their Drummer they changed it to Waking the Cadaver.. My son is Steve Vermilyea original bassist...
Man, an other one hitting in the feels. I remember watching the ''misheard lyrics video''.
Lol always love the intro changes. Grab coffee, cigarette, spaghetti 😂
hahah thanks , felt a little silly but its my thing now
so sick! This channel is exactly what I was looking for! Myspace era heavy music is king! Would love a Molotov Solution Video!!! Keep up the good work my guy
Awesome thank you so much ! And yes they're on the list 🤘🏻
Saw them on that Dying Fetus tour. Such a sick show! They're a good bridge between brutal death and core. When the scenes were a little more divided I feel like they were one of those "okay, we'll take them in" bands lol.
Very well put ! 🤘🏻🔥
Finally someone mentions what genre they really are. BDM. Props man.
Thank youuuu for the nostalgia every one of these videos is on point and it's a joy to have memories come back of the old days and how great those days really were! I'm excited to see what band you bring up next as well as what you might do in the future! Have a good adventure I know i'll be here!
That's so kind thank you !! Really means a lot... And tomorrow there will be a new video 😈🤘🏻
Excited to see who you have in store for us \m/ @@xtheyan
Dude I remember coming across these guys on youtube in like 2009. I had just started highschool and was getting into metal and me and my buddies would try and find the CRAZIEST metal possible. Waking the Cadaver always stuck with me as one of the best.
Loving the channel after only watching 2 vids!!! It's so interesting to hear about the lore of some of these bands that were uprising and trailblazing when I was younger!! I'm still all about it all these years later, rock on and keep it up man 🤘🤘
Thanks for the kind words and sharing your story 🤘🏻🔥
i remember asking my friend what was the scariest show that he witnessed; and he told me it was when he saw Waking the Cadaver play in a warehouse in Pennsylvania around 2008. Apparently the only source of light were burning barrels and people were straight up throwing hands
Came home from the gym, and I see this one is uploaded on my feed. Thanks for covering them, I've always had guilty pleasures from their 2006 demo when I discovered it back in 2008-2009. So brutal, so crazy, but yet so good. One of my favorites from that era tbh!
Glad you enjoyed! Such a cool band 🤘🏻
Love the video man I agree 100% I remember the shredded wheat memes back in like 2009 who woulda known this band would become my favorite years later. Absolute Trail Blazers.
Dudes are absolute legends. The pioneers. I grew up in NJ and there wasnt anyone who didnt know who they were.
Those first 2 demo songs got put on a blank CD when I was a freshman and played multiple times every single day to get me through the weird hormones of puberty and first year of high school and now I think their latest record is the best thing they've ever put out to be honest
Waking the Cadaver was a band that became famous for being a meme in the past, and I’m glad they had that reputation back then because that’s how I discovered them! They have also improved a lot over the years and released better and better albums, especially Authority Through Intimidation, which is a huge album and my favourite one in their discography so far. Those vocals are also menacing.
Yes, I think now people respect them a lot ! They deserve it.. they are extremely talented and unique
just discovered your channel and loving the content!
Thank you !! 🤘🏻
hey dude thanks for your videos! you take me back in my 20s and before. Had also a band at this time operating in europe…mortal agony.
thanks again and hope to see more from you❤
Wow thank YOU for the support ! And dont worry there's a lot more coming 🤘🏻
I had the pleasure of seeing them live with Dying Fetus in 2013 and it was hands down one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. I was really blown away. I hope they come to Portland again soon.
dude jsut discovered your channel from wtc sharing this and i'm binging all of your videos but your channel RULES it makes me so happy hearing someone talk about this stuff. please keep more videos like this coming, you're already one of my favorite channels on here
That's so kind man , Thanks !! I will keep going for sure 🤘🏻🔥
Perverse IS THE GREATEST Grind album EVER MADE!!!! From any band! They killed it! i love that whole fucking record all the way through!
Your videos are unlocking so many memories haha. I saw Waking The Cadaver in London (where I'm from) playing a venue called The Underworld in 2008 - the entire room was a pit! I wish there was footage but can't seem to find anything. Looking forward to the next video :)
That's the beauty of this whole thing.. I didn't realize how many people would relive their memories through my videos and it makes me really happy!! 🤘🏻
So glad I found this channel, i'm rocking my WTC Slamming Gore Groove 2022 sports top as I watch this! 🖤
haha awesome man 🤘🏻🔥
Is that what the fuck they're calling themselves nowadays? Lol. Yeah I see a ton of bands wanting to copy that horseshit.
Amazing band!!!! These videos is the greatest
about the description.. Waking The Cadaver are considered more slam then deathcore.. but it had a impact on Deathcore somehow aswell
Yes they are a bit difficult to label haha
ive been a fan since day one. i love waking the cadaver. i credit them for my love of slam to this day.
🤘🏻🔥
This is the content I'm looking for
GOATED vocalist and their latest album is criminally underrated
Saw them at Camden Underworld, London in around 2008 and I still remember it as being one of the most overwhelming heavy shows I've ever been to with an insane bass tone.
Commented on the last one , new sub you're doing great stuff dude. Anyway, every modern slam band has these guys to thank !
Thanks for the support !! A yes, legendary band
He came, he saw, he delivered! Thanks for this bro
Thank YOU for the support 🤘🏻
Dude I love these vids! I would love to see a video on veil of mayas really early stuff as a lot of shit went down and they were reasonably genre defining at the time!
Thanks man !! Veil of Maya is on my list for sure 🤘🏻🔥
Funny story, underage drinking in the woods 16 years ago with friends. Cops came, had my speaker and mp3 player in a case of beer to amplify it. Grabbed the box then realized I was a running through the woods being chased so I unplugged the speaker and tossed the box. When I got home the mp3 player read "chases through the woods by a rapist"
wow haha great story!
I pray to my shrine of don every night like every other law abiding citizen.
I bought a WTC hoodie on eBay a few years ago and it turned out to be the bands official eBay store and they sent me a free cd 😊
Love the channel man! Every video is a blast from the past! Would love to see a video on Whitechapel possibly?🤘🏼
Thanks man !! Yes , Whitechapel is on my list for sure 🤘🏻🔥
Man im loving these videos! Can u maby do All Shall perish, Salt The wound, Sea of treachery or As blood runs black some time? Keep it up man
All on the list 🤘🏻 And thank you so much
Dude, they just did a bunch of shows with the man, the myth, the legend, fucking lord Marco Pitruzella. That's so sick. I dont know how permanent it is, but still. Sick.
Also, I would say cadaver like Kuh-DAV-urr
Love the content, one of my newest faves. Looking forward to the rest of the gold you bring us.
perfect haha and thank you very much!
Met these guys and smoked a joint in the parking lot of Billiards in Springfield Missouri. Don is one of the coolest guys ever.
One of my all time favorites!!!! These guys are fucking AWSOME!!!!!!!
Me and my high school homie at the time thought this was the hardest shit out at the time 😂 that snare still gives me chills lmao
Awesome video, one of my fav bands as a teen and still rock with em. 🐽🤘🏼
Thanks man ! Yes they’re awesome 🤘🏻🔥
Amazing and also a very important video man. You got yourself a new fan and subscriber. Wish I could have found you sooner lol
Hey thanks a lot man ! And dont worry I've started only 2 months ago 🤘🏻🔥
Thank u I was waiting for the next drop sick
Remember the "I like to chew on gum" videos lmaoo...love this era
Shout out to those of you that got into them from the old school viral youtube "Shredded Wheat" video 🤘🏻
i used to listen to this back in the day, and i loved it... we need to honest with ourselves though, It was bad then, its bad now. its ok to admit it.
I mean , it's your opinion.. For me, it was awesome back then , it's still awesome now !! And it's totally okay to have different taste
waking the cadaver has always peeked my interest don’s vocals are just something different! also that growl on real life death holy shit 😂
These are great. Brings back lots of memories. I remember the band Molotov solution and abbacabb were big in the scene around my area
Both amazing bands
-Que agradable sujeto, hablaste de una de mis bandas favoritas y la verdad me encantó el video ya que casi no valoran a esta gran banda,yo la escucho cuando estoy en el gymnasio y se disfruta brutalmente! ._./
8th grade me is smiling ear to ear. This was a wild time to be a metal fan. They were a semi local band to me, and I kick myself for not getting into shows earlier when they were touring nj, PA, and ny.
i get goosebumps every time i see them live
Thank you for this video, you know, the thing that got me into WTC were the misread lyrics videos.
Oh fuck yeah, buddy, let’s go
🤘
Not my scene or genre but I watched it because I enjoy your enthusiasm and honesty for different music.
That's such a big compliment ! Thank you 🤘🏻
Played a show with these guys and poolside at the flamingo. Dude from waking is one big sweaty ball of energy.
I have never clicked on a video so fucking fast!
hahah awesome
These videos are DOPE, Keep it up!
Thanks a lot man , will do !
YES I just messaged Don yesterday asking a question about vocals haha
