I told ya!!!! I did have a few cutting out issues when I did my first install. If the connecters aren’t secure, they kind of shake. I zip tied everything real good and it fix the problem. If it happens again make sure all the connecters are solid!! Try the traction control off. It’s even better and wheelies forever.
TC has always been off since day one. Idk, we'll see. I'll go look over it. I didn't have any issues after that and I rode it for another 2 hours or so ripping on it.
@@CycleCruza i’ve got a 2022 690 Enduro and it cuts out when I’m blipping the throttle while down shifting. I don’t know why just does it randomly sometimes.

PS my bike has roughly the same mods, and if I’m twisting the throttle a lot, throttle bomb, it’ll “flame out” idk if that’s the proper term for the symptom.. especially when the bike is cold.. but when the bike is hot , it rarely flames out. Such a BEAST !!!
Freaking died when the engine cut off 😂😂😂😂. Instantly thought damn KTM gave up on CycleCruza. Glad it seems fine. But the RVE has the 690 beat looks wise but I'm basis owning a RVE. That sound the black and orange color scheme looks awesome and definitely a great look when you know you're voiding your warranty.
I did too. 😂 I heard a big pop and I thought I blew the engine already. haha I was thinking I just wasted all that money for that bike. Stock vs stock, the Duc wins in looks. However, I think its on par now with the mods I did but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There is nothing else to get for a fuel controller? lol I had no choice. Normally, I use a ECU flasher but you can't on this bike. If I have any issues later on I'll fix it up and sell it. Its a fun bike, I hope all will be well.

It only did that pop once, I was rev bombing it. I should probably get a custom tune.The YZ is 85 lb lighter and hits different, more raw and violent. KTM hits better than it did stock tho.
I don't know if you removed the exhaust but make sure you don't have a leak at the header pipe. I know a leak could cause a backfire. Perhaps thats the pop you heard and then a flameout maybe?? Idk

My 2019 YZ450FX is better, the new 2024 YZ450FX they made the suspension softer like the WR450F and some other changes, it is no longer the same bike as the YZ450F motocross bike like my 2019 model is minus the wheel size, kickstand and minor changes.
dont worry, there will be more problems coming your ways with that PC setup. I wouldnt want to ride a PC bike very far cuz the risk of being stranded is too big. Have the ECU flashed is the way to go. Even more power and stock like reliability
All 690/701's do this. Some more so than others. It's a single cylinder, so if you lose the 1 cylinder, there's not any others to "save' it from dying. So if you go messing with the air/fuel ratio on it, good chance you'll make the issue worse. A stock one will do it though as well under the right circumstances. My 2019 was horrible about "flaming out" with just a slip on. It was mostly just an annoyance, but also a safety issue- died mid corner, and entering an intersection.
So far just happened once and it was while I was foolishly rev bombing it. I need to chill from that. No issues since, knock on wood. I never had that happen on my YZ450FX but it has no fuel controller, you can actually. make custom maps on your phone with that bike.
All your saying is the bike popped were is the footage ? You cut it to the point of you walking it by the way your revving the granny out of it I’m not surprised it won’t last long or you’ll have sensor issues
I was worried about reliability when stock so now even more. lol I usually don't keep a bike past a year tho except the YZ. However, I still have the MT-07 almost going on two years.
The exhaust was sponsored as well as the fender eliminator kit and lithium battery. Some stuff i got a discount on and others I paid for in full. I would say I personally spent about $2000 or so but if I had to pay for everything at full cost, about $3500. However, I got about $2k off MSRP on the bike.

Yeah I have the Dynojet Power Vision 3 ECU flasher and flash tuned my MT-07 and former MT-09, I like it much better but unfortunately you cannot flash tune the KTM 690 SMC R ECU, I would have if I could. Power Commanders are old tech, I don't care for them but I had to get it. Thank you for being a viewer, i appreciate it. I hope all is blessed your way.

How is that dji camera holding up and I think gopro makes the newer firmware updates worse and worse on purpose to make you buy their new latest camera that gopro has out and I have the 10 black and I updated to the latest firmware and it seemed like the camera was broken and starting to fail and the video was bad and put the original firmware on it and it works normal like how it should work and with a aftermarket battery

Nice! I'm a fan of LeoVince and Arrow exhausts. I had a Leo slip-on on my 2014 VStrom 1000 and it was great! At some point i need a new exhaust for my MG V85TT. I'm in love with this LeoVince exhaust, man it sounds so good. It sounds better than my YZ450FX FMF Titanium exhaust. I did not know Moto Guzzi was here in Columbus, I'll have to check them out.
@CycleCruza LeoVince and Arrow always seem to have a deeper and thumpy note to them without being too raspy. Plus, LeoVince looks good, the build quality is good, and the price is fair.

I’ve always been a dual sport guy. Tried to buy a supermoto but the dealer must’ve been smoking rocks tryna charge me 80% of the cost of the bike for dealer fees etc.
That is why I put on Shinko 705 ds tires on my YZ and will on this KTM, however, you can''t just ride over everything like you can with a 21" from wheel, you just have to ride different but will ride off-road no problem and is great on the street with the 705 tires.
Same random cutting out issues on mine too, happens when you rev it on the spot or with the clutch in while driving, kinda weird Apperantly its running to rich on the spot so it kinda goes bläh

CC the reason the engine cutout is the power commander, those things are terrible with fuel control with flame outs, Now the GET ecu's are awesome and control every aspect of the engine and fuel, not cheap, but I will tell you this they will unleash every ounce of power that bike can make trouble free, rev bomb the hell out of it, it won't die! check Taco Moto
I had a PCV on my former WR250R and never had an issue. I'll probably get a custom tune. Too bad you can't flash tune the ecu.. I never heard of the GET ecu, don't think they have it for th 690 smc r....
My ktm did same damn thing yesterday. I'm catless. Pulled up in garage an was bumping throttle. Brap brap then it made fart sound an smelled like gas an died.
I don’t get the point. You bought a brand new bike known for being one of the best twistie road killers in the world as stock, then modded it, to then ride it in straight lines. Pretty sure a stock mt09 would destroy it on a straight line for less money. Get the thing on the twisty roads man, then review.
That is why I bought a YZ450FX and just put about $1200 in it, didn't have do all of the performance mod bs like you do regular street bikes with emissions stuff on it. What i love about the YZ over the KTM is I can tune the bike with my phone anytime.
If you keep slamming on the gas like a bitch 😂 to hear the exhaust, the mix sometimes will be reacher. And you have some blind sensors after the installation. And the injection trim for stock intake/exaust air flow isn't modified... And it's a big one, and big ones tend to stall more often - just one ignition every two crankshaft laps. Put it all together and... boom! The proof is... everything is ok after restarting. By the way, I guess its mileage has decreased sensibly. But it's very very cool now, there's no question. Congrats, bro. Great bike. Unfortunately KTM is not present here in Brazil - just some crazy guys that put a ridiculous price tag on some very few models over here, while true KTM guys are sleeping...
Yeah I was a fool with the rev bombing but that sound is so addictive. I'll probably get a custom tune just to ensure everything is tuned perfectly. While there, after the tune I'll have them switch the tires over to the SHinko 705 tires. My first tank MPG stock was 44 mpg so I'm sure it'll probably be 40 or less now. lol My YZ averages about 41 MPG. That sucks KTM is not out in Brazil. At least you have Yamaha?
@CycleCruza Yes, bro. But... MT-09 here is still your 2017 version... Only Triumph has been doing a great job over here, with bikes being sold as well as in other countries - 765RS for example. But even so... our last Speed Triple here was the 2017 R model, and didn't came again after 2017, unfortunately. So we missed here the 18-20 RS and the 1200 - never been sold! By the way, my ride now is a 2016 Speed Triple R, wich I love. We don't have the S1000R since 2020, just RR. The F900R arrived just last year - and with just 90 horsepower... the bikes have to pass very restricted emissions regulations to be sold over here, and in general we are poor, unfortunately. Now the new black over here are big trails like GSs and Tigers... This all sucks, bro...

I hope not. If so, it'll get fixed and sold. lol The only reason I got the KTM was to share the experience and give a KTm bike a chance. It is simple tech on this bike and it has been out long enough so I figured they ironed out all of the issues.
Respect. I just think supermotos can be seen as not serious bikes and almost goofy but they bring so much fun. I currently own one along with an mt09sp and while the mt09 is better for long rides and pushing higher speeds the Ktm is just dam fun with that vibrating single cylinder and lightweight nimbleness.

Those bikes are solid man. Just keep up with maintenance and check all your bolts/screws every week cause that motor vibrates everything loose.

that 698 looks crap!!!! doesn't have the raw sumo look. no spoked wheels!!!!
Changing the color scheme doesn’t void the warranty, but the intake mods and SAS delete definitely do, but well worth it.
Maybe the AFR needs tuned on the laptop?

Best thing to do is buy a flashed ECU. No splicing into the bike's wiring harness. Won't void warranty.

Same experience I had from doing similar set of changes to my 690. Second biggest change was changing out the springs to match my weight.

Shouldn't be popping at all.. that usually indicates a lean condition.. also.. change your sprockets and you'll forget about the YZF..

It doesn't rip until you do a 15t sprocket or a 15/45 (-1/+3). ;)

mine cuts off just off idle occasionally ... its badass but theres a couple things you have ride around or just put up with .

Mine did the same thing during a high rev. I was on a downhill, and it didn't stall out, though. Is there a rev limiter?

I was worried about reliability when stock so now even more. lol I usually don't keep a bike past a year tho except the YZ. However, I still have the MT-07 almost going on two years.

The exhaust was sponsored as well as the fender eliminator kit and lithium battery. Some stuff i got a discount on and others I paid for in full. I would say I personally spent about $2000 or so but if I had to pay for everything at full cost, about $3500. However, I got about $2k off MSRP on the bike.

Yeah I have the Dynojet Power Vision 3 ECU flasher and flash tuned my MT-07 and former MT-09, I like it much better but unfortunately you cannot flash tune the KTM 690 SMC R ECU, I would have if I could. Power Commanders are old tech, I don't care for them but I had to get it. Thank you for being a viewer, i appreciate it. I hope all is blessed your way.

How is that dji camera holding up and I think gopro makes the newer firmware updates worse and worse on purpose to make you buy their new latest camera that gopro has out and I have the 10 black and I updated to the latest firmware and it seemed like the camera was broken and starting to fail and the video was bad and put the original firmware on it and it works normal like how it should work and with a aftermarket battery

It actually came in the PC6 box. This was all recommended by Rottweiler performance and the PC6 is tuned with all of these mod specifications.

I'm in love with this LeoVince exhaust, man it sounds so good. It sounds better than my YZ450FX FMF Titanium exhaust. I did not know Moto Guzzi was here in Columbus, I'll have to check them out.
@CycleCruza LeoVince and Arrow always seem to have a deeper and thumpy note to them without being too raspy. Plus, LeoVince looks good, the build quality is good, and the price is fair.

Hey cycle cruza why are you using the clutch? Try the quick shifter its so much better. I usually use clutch for 1-2 but rest use quick shift
It has been a while since I rode this bike because I was waiting for an oem part. Sometimes I forget this bike has a quick shifter because my MT-07 and YZ don't have one, hadn't had one since the Tuono. Without thinking I use the clutch. lol

I’ve always been a dual sport guy. Tried to buy a supermoto but the dealer must’ve been smoking rocks tryna charge me 80% of the cost of the bike for dealer fees etc.
That is why I put on Shinko 705 ds tires on my YZ and will on this KTM, however, you can''t just ride over everything like you can with a 21" from wheel, you just have to ride different but will ride off-road no problem and is great on the street with the 705 tires.

I would avoid the power command get a proper tune from BT moto... fuel piggybacks are junk and never run as good as a well tested tune.

CC the reason the engine cutout is the power commander, those things are terrible with fuel control with flame outs, Now the GET ecu's are awesome and control every aspect of the engine and fuel, not cheap, but I will tell you this they will unleash every ounce of power that bike can make trouble free, rev bomb the hell out of it, it won't die! check Taco Moto
I had a PCV on my former WR250R and never had an issue. I'll probably get a custom tune. Too bad you can't flash tune the ecu.. I never heard of the GET ecu, don't think they have it for th 690 smc r....

I don’t get the point. You bought a brand new bike known for being one of the best twistie road killers in the world as stock, then modded it, to then ride it in straight lines. Pretty sure a stock mt09 would destroy it on a straight line for less money. Get the thing on the twisty roads man, then review.

That is why I bought a YZ450FX and just put about $1200 in it, didn't have do all of the performance mod bs like you do regular street bikes with emissions stuff on it. What i love about the YZ over the KTM is I can tune the bike with my phone anytime.

If you keep slamming on the gas like a bitch 😂 to hear the exhaust, the mix sometimes will be reacher. And you have some blind sensors after the installation. And the injection trim for stock intake/exaust air flow isn't modified... And it's a big one, and big ones tend to stall more often - just one ignition every two crankshaft laps. Put it all together and... boom! The proof is... everything is ok after restarting. By the way, I guess its mileage has decreased sensibly. But it's very very cool now, there's no question. Congrats, bro. Great bike. Unfortunately KTM is not present here in Brazil - just some crazy guys that put a ridiculous price tag on some very few models over here, while true KTM guys are sleeping...
Yeah I was a fool with the rev bombing but that sound is so addictive. I'll probably get a custom tune just to ensure everything is tuned perfectly. While there, after the tune I'll have them switch the tires over to the SHinko 705 tires. My first tank MPG stock was 44 mpg so I'm sure it'll probably be 40 or less now. lol My YZ averages about 41 MPG. That sucks KTM is not out in Brazil. At least you have Yamaha?
@CycleCruza Yes, bro. But... MT-09 here is still your 2017 version... Only Triumph has been doing a great job over here, with bikes being sold as well as in other countries - 765RS for example. But even so... our last Speed Triple here was the 2017 R model, and didn't came again after 2017, unfortunately. So we missed here the 18-20 RS and the 1200 - never been sold! By the way, my ride now is a 2016 Speed Triple R, wich I love. We don't have the S1000R since 2020, just RR. The F900R arrived just last year - and with just 90 horsepower... the bikes have to pass very restricted emissions regulations to be sold over here, and in general we are poor, unfortunately. Now the new black over here are big trails like GSs and Tigers... This all sucks, bro...

Respect. I just think supermotos can be seen as not serious bikes and almost goofy but they bring so much fun. I currently own one along with an mt09sp and while the mt09 is better for long rides and pushing higher speeds the Ktm is just dam fun with that vibrating single cylinder and lightweight nimbleness.
@@er98ah I have ridden a few myself. They are super fun. In terms of this particular series I have not enjoyed it. By the way I ride a 2018 Yamaha Mt-10..You stay safe on them streets my friend!
And to me this is the most fun build (next to my YZ build) that produced the most results compared to the other bikes. It hits harder now.
