My kids have all three DS games and we've been playing Harmony of Despair lately. They really liked your recap, so you have two new little fans! Amazing alliteration! Keep up the good work!
AoS needs more recognizement for what it did. It perfected the SoTN formula in a portable experience and approached its lore in a predictable, yet bold way.
Sorrow series is by far my favorite castlevania series. I just love the fact that its not because you were meant to be something that you are it. Its your choice ultimately.
This sets a new standard for alliterative skill in a RECAPitation script. Absolutely amazing work. Good simplistic story. This is the most recent Castlevania I played and completed. It was quite a bit of fun to hear the story once again. :) "Soma clashes with the Crawling Chaos." - H.P. Lovecraft Easter Egg. Great story, by the way. "Avoiding becoming a sandwich." - Ehhh... Close enough. RE1. :P "... reacting quickly, Arikado casts Soul Steal to clear them all out except for one foe off-screen." - You combined a joke with an in-universe Easter Egg from Symphony of the Night. You win the Internet, sir. I'll rendezvous with you on the next battlefield.
Wtf I could've sworn this video had already been made... lol. Anyways, this is easily my favorite Castlevania. A random detail I love is how, despite the fact that you're in an ancient castle, the game does NOT let you forget that it's set in the future. I haven't played it in a while but I recall coming across AT LEAST a single gun.
Really great video. This is exactly Why This is my favorite Castlevania game. It has a awesome story. And it has the original gameplay. There are so many abilities you can get in this game, it's crazy. Good thing they we released this masterpiece.❤️😄👌
I've been doing a hard mode playthrough on the ps4 version but this was my favorite game back in the early 2000s on the GBA. Its definitely still a favorite of mine. I never got a chance to play Dawn of Sorrow or Portait of Ruin 😢
there's a army guy stealing weapons just to sell to a teenager but one of the three people who are fighting in this beyond haunted castle. i should get weapons for free if we want to get out of the castle
ayy been waiting for this, I remember playing AoS for the Gameboy SP but it had a scuffed internal save feature so everytime I would play it I'd have to basicly speed run it, it was always great fun, thanks for covering this gem!
One of the best Castlevania game released along with HoD. Those two are one of my favorite Castlevania games of all time, the first time I played this during my childhood I got the bad ending thinking that was the end. Soma and Mina finally out of the castle, then a friend told me that it's not the true ending. I quickly went home and searched how to get the perfect ending, leveling up to 100 and completing every soul there is to get. It was all worth it seeing the truth about Soma and Genya, the storytelling is great. I wish Netflix picks this up and do a retelling of it, but it's highly unlikely cause it's the end of the overall videogame story of Castlevania. I don't care about what the haters say, this will always be may favorite and best castlevania game of all time. Also if your JJBA fan then you're in for a treat you'll see a bunch of references to JJBA in the game as you get thru every place and collect souls on the castle.
I'm pretty sure Adi Shankar (the guy behind the Castlevania Netflix project) hinted at Soma more than once as a sort of endgame. Imagine that, making the animated series was only a step of his master plan...
@@nelisezpasce omg I just googled it now and found IGN's interview about him after reading your reply. That's great news if he's hinting at it making the animated series some sort of trilogy ending with Soma Cruz. Heck we might even see the Demon Castle War of 1999 as an intro to his story. Hopefully they stick with it cause I honestly I'm really interested in how they'll adapt the story as sort of an endgame to the animated series.
Once you're done with all of the tenant Castlevania games do you plan to also do videos on any of the non-canning games, such as for example Circle of the Moon, Castlevania 64, and the Lords of Shadow trilogy, as well?
The portrait art of that game were fantastic. The overall direction of this game was epic. Cant fk with what already works :D Aaaaaand no touch screen qte......ew lol
Awesome game, played it 1st time on mobile phone xD Then the 2nd time on PSP through emulation. I really like this premise of somewhat ordinary guy (not really) that dont know anything explore this castle. I mean, its great for immersion when ingame character knows about as much as you do. Hope there will be another similar castlevania in the future, even though chances are slim. Its been a fkng 8 years now and the last one is not something I even call castlevania, with it being 3d and stuff.
@@elevate07 I just searched it before you replied, my bad haha. I remember playing dawn of sorrow a long time ago on my ds, it was really fun. But man screw that stage arrange puzzle that's where I got stuck
Reincarnation is an interesting topic when it comes to storytelling, and is an interesting trope that *if used properly as a plot device or a plot point* can create a huge twist within the story. I do have one question: *What happened to the Crimson Stone?* They should've made more games centering on that stone for more Belmonts or other vampire hunters who are descendants of other Belmont allies to destroy. Also, Nostradamus invented jelly...I think. By the way, I had a dream that you were recapping Monark, which has some similarities to Shin Megami Tensei: If (Persona 0) with a really good story. But the gameplay in that game is tedious with constant level grinding.
I didn't know this one existed until after I purchased Aria of Sorrow for my DS, which is a cool game, but feels inferior, or at least, more annoying because of the forced in touch screen mechanic.

I appreciate your amazing ability of awesome alliteration at 5:43.
Having just finished it, I should say I appreciate it throughout; there were quite a few tongue twisters in there!
4:20 as well!

A yes the Sorrow duology looks like the Castlevania playlist is nearing it's end.
Ohhh! Just finished watching the portrait of ruin recap in time for watch along. I’m hyped! 🎉🎉🎉
Great video and recap! Getting the new Dominion collection for the DS games tomorrow and this helps a ton for things to know.

Very much enjoyed
Love the lavish alliteration alive all along the length of the vid
probably my favorite of the castlevania games. So much to do, its amazing they made it on the GBA.
Bro, I love this recaps you make. Your alliteration game is off the charts
You had me at "Dracula's castle is inside of an eclipse."
Yep
XD
Thanks for those Recap, I love them!

My dude, have you ever thought about a rap career? Your alliteration is top notch 😂
Anybody else look forward to when he does the dungeon bit
I am. It never gets old.
Hell yeah!!!! My favorite Castlevania game!!!!!! I can't wait to relive the nostalgia of Dawn of Sorrow as well
Why did alucard just let this happen. I didn't realize before. That was such a dangerous tactic.
He said it himself, only Dracula could get into the realm of Chaos and cut off the flow of its influence

The Chanel has had more castlevania then Konami.
8:44 I HEARD THAT
XD
Another good recap! Will you do the Xenoblade games?
My favorite Castlevania.
Aria of Sorrow and its sequel, otherwise known as the time when Dracula reincarnated as some high school student in Japan and was awesome

Absolutely!
@@OniBlackMage Hooray, I can hardly wait
WE NEED ANOTHER CASTLEVANIA FIGHTING GAME BUT MADE BY CAPCOM.
With the game *Touhou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil* being 20 years old, can you do a RECAP for that game?
