I love how the first four bosses turn into regular enemies as the game progresses on

You gotta love the villains that basically make the protagonist their downfall. Soma didn't care about Dracula, he just wanted to leave.
This game and his sequel, Dawn of sorrow, are basically Dracula trying to enjoy life in tranquility without disturbing anyone and yet people come to disturb him.

Balore was a huge highlight among these bosses for me.

Balore's origins
Balore is from Irish mythology. He is the god of death and the king of a race of giants known as the Fomorians, who possessed unusual physical properties. When he was a child, he was observing druids preparing noxious spells one day and the fumes entered his eyes, granting them incredible destructive power. After that, he had to keep his eyes closed because anything he looked at would die instantly. He was eventually killed by his own grandson.

Headhunter is pretty broken if you get a lot of souls but lubicant is better imo
It is also the game where the moment you get the Claimh Solais weapon, you don't need anything else.

the replayability, the graphics, etc., made this one of the absolute best GBA games of all time!!!
The only thing bland was that music. It's like the Castlevania music guy was on vacation. It only seem to have came back with the Julius Belmont fight.

@Chilomine Ms. Yamane and Mr. Hokkai definitely had more memorable works on the series, but I still find the ost pretty solid imo
The game where Dracula broke his own chains, defeated the source of his own powers, and regained his humanity and hope. I wish we could have gotten a new sequel where we actually see grown-up Soma looking like a modernly-dressed Dracula and trying to keep Chaos's ambitions in check alongside his "son" and the Belmonts.
and the whole time, he's like "cool, think I can go home now? no? fuck". absolutely love it
I just noticed after 18 years that the Chaos's core resembles the eclipse shown on the menu, hence why Castlevania was strong enough to unseal itself during it. In a certain way, the final boss is the first thing you see when booting up the game.
While bosses from this game aren't too hard to beat, to take no damage from Chaos isn't an easy job. You're something, GJ pal.
Milen Anessar really i mean i dont play a lot of caastlevania but these bosses felt stupidly tough to me (the emulator was on my phone) still beat it though
I played this on a phone emulator too, the only ones that gave me trouble were death and balore
Death was the hardest boss for me. 3 damn stages smh lol.

Legion and it's sound effects leading up to the fight was nightmare fuel.
the one in symphony of the night was even creepier. twice the size and bodies falling out of the ball constantly. it was also flesh and blood colored instead of a big grey blob.
What is creepy as heck is that before your funny with legion, while your exploring that area of the castle, all off the grey bodies that make up the thing are all over the place. They all walk in the direction of the boss room.

Great refference to the first game
While I didn't realize it at the time when this came out, this really is the best of all Castlevania's. I've played SotN more, but the gameplay of this is so cool. So is Dawn of Sorrow.

Headhunter is by far one of the greatest bosses in gaming history. I wish it had more phases
i wish it had two or three more heads. lol it's always a treat to fight a multi-phased boss.

I played Symphony of the Night as a kid on my older brothers PlayStation. I finally got a gameboy Advance with this game. It instantly became my favorite.

legion will always be my favorite boss to look forward to in castlevania games. i love bosses that have an outer shell you tear down then beat the hell out of the core
Legion/Granfaloon is honestly my favorite boss in all of Castlevania. Yeah, i know there are technically better bosses, but its cool to fight, as well as its just cool to be fighting essentially a balloon of dead bodies.

@@alexklozano Oh I see it now. Indeed it has decreased a bit. But in fact it's his max health that increases because he leveled up, but leveling doesn't regen his HP, the green orb thing does and fills the bar. You can check at the other bosses that he kills and levels up, the same thing happens.
Death was such a tough fight, I'm impressed.

A little story, so i got this game from my friend. we are using emulator to play this game. I don't know how but he got a modded version. We start the game with all items in possesion and using a big sword that does 9999 damage. We finish the game so quickly back then XD
I loved this game. When I lost it I remembered that I had a gba emulator and downloaded it to my phone

I remember play this game on a GBA emulator on a computer then to a phone. So many memories, including acquiring the Claimh Solais, one of the strongest weapons in the game or a rare Positron rifle when in boss rush mode.
The bosses designs of this games are one of the best in the series, so creative
Balore and Headhuntress are probably my most favorite bosses in this game.
One, since their character and themes are pretty interesting.
And two, since it isn't any generic oversized enemy or an already existing boss in the series.
And three, just because Balore basically dupes you into thinking you're about to fight another generic bat boss.
This person's definitely far better than me but I've gotta say Claimh Solais makes shit so much easier. He repels all of Chaos' projectiles without fuss, and attacks multiple weak spots together.
Thrusting weapons don't give you the same luxury.

Some of the aria of sorrow bosses are just called "minions" in dawn of sorrow for example manticore you can see a lot of manticore in dawn of sorrow

This is my most fave Castpevania game ever. I remember spending hoooouuuurrrrssss for this. I enjoy collecting the souls of each monsters.

On the first playthough I did of this game I accidentally skipped the headhunter. Made that entire part of the castle a surprise on my second one. I accidentally found a glitch and used it to progress.
