    Superb modifications. I especially like the deck arrangement and how this allows for the camping cot in two orientations. That does seem like a lot of added weight so does that affect sailing performance much. I expect as it is the TI that with the longer hull length, added buoyancy, bigger amas and bigger sail ti doesn't hurt too much. I sail the 2014 AI and that would not be such a good expedition boat as this is. Great job.

      Thanks. I didn't notice the extra weight but that's probably because I spent most of my sailing time poking around in the mangroves around Tampa Bay in pretty mild conditions. It might require some controlled experiments (racing another, unmodified TI?) to quantify that.

    Nice job on those mods brother! I'm currently in the planning stages for adding a forward deck to my TI and will definitely be looking at how you made yours for inspiration. Thanks for sharing! 😊👍

    Nice work mate I'm impressed but the hull is sitting on the wooden boards I would have glued marine carpet on the bunks it will take away the vibration of the hull,,,, not bad though,,,,,and front hatch lid in front of the master do you have a leaking hatch lid

    Great mods for the TI. Love the flat forward deck and the multiple options for the tent. .... Just need to add the motor mount! Currently sailing my TI in Marco if you wish to meet up.

      James,
      Where do you launch in Marco? Is there a ramp where trailers can be left for a couple of nights?

      Sorry I missed your question. Very limited places to leave a trailer overnight in Marco. Best recommendation is one of the Marinas on the North side of Marco (Marco River).@@sundog7599 I am now sailing out of the Florida Keys (Islamorada) in March/April. I did enjoy sailing around Port Canaveral and the Indian River a couple years back.... th-cam.com/video/-hhyQDuPL3Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=q9loKoUq-GDgC5_9 and th-cam.com/video/PjISYAowf7s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dp33utSUyY0-3OCJ Keep the TI videos coming!

      They were bench seats from a picnic table my father built in 1954. One inch California Redwood.

    how about links for the outriggers and swivel crossbar joints?

    • @sundog7599
      @sundog7599  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not modify the akas or amas. To reduce capsize risk some owners have replaced the plastic pins in the diagonal brace which keeps them from folding inward with stainless bolts but that may risk damage during collisions . I'd search the Hobe TI forum for information.

    Amazing 💡 's you've got, would love a chance to have a good 👀 over...
    Hopefully I will be doing some long-weekend/week long adventures in my TI around Lake Eildon and or Lake Eppalock to start with here in central Victoria.
