I love my 2018 RT ! Just had a set of Pirelli Angel GTs fitted and it made it even better ! You can ride it like a tourer or you can hammer it through the curves. I have a friend with a 2001 RT and it just keeps going !
My 2018 is white and I agree totally. No disappointments whatsoever, only a heap of praise to BMW for a job well done on this bike.
STOPsign It was either white or red for me. Dealership had a red and I also liked the dark grey wheels and black engine block. Only thing I don’t like is the enormous chrome muffler but I will likely replace it with Akrapovic or Remus at some stage.
Ahhh yes. I like the black engine look also but they don't do that in white unfortunately. Still got a long ways until I have to replace tires but I'm going to look into a set of Pirelli's like you did. If its one thing I like best about this bike, it's the handling. Makes me feel like I could ride it in MotoGP.
Can dual pipes be fitted on an R1250RT?
I think some of the minor close calls help keep us on our toes and keep us alive. The RT was awesome. Thanks for the ride along.

yeah, my RT is a great bike, I built adapters so I can put GIVI bags on that have a hatch so you can load from the top. I also added a Laam seat for more comfort. I just wish my legs were a little longer so I could flatfoot at stops. ( I have the low seat ! )

There are times when my 04 1200 sportster is the thing to ride for in the wind fun. But times when smooth strong techno gizmos are the thing ya need for a perfect ride. So a person needs to love both to be a (biker) as you are my friend. Thanks for your videos.

I spent 2.5 years with only my V-Star 1300 for transportation, believe it or not, side loading saddlebags would probably be a deal-breaker for me. If it's too troublesome to load groceries, it's not worth the hassle of owning it. Now, if it's one of those top-loading boxes like the R1200 GSA, then I might be really tempted, but I want to get all I can out of my Eluder before I go that route. I guess I need to go back to yesterdays vlog and watch it again. Peace and love.
Side loading bags are not ideal. I usually load things I don't need often in my side bags and for those items I need often, I load them in my top BMW case or in my small tank bag. But if you have a lot to pack, then this might in fact be a deal-breaker.
What is the difference between it and your demo?
I don't think I like that the RT doesn't have self canceling turn signals, but it looks like it would be a comfortable bike on a long trip, Thanks for taking along for the ride, stay warm!
How would you compare that near perfect RT to the new Honda GoldWing Bagger?
Embarrassing to admit, but: before watching your video I didn't know that my 2017 R1200RT had a digital speedo. That was my only dislike of the bike (thinking it didn't have the speedo). One only has to turn off the radio by long pressing the top button on the left side panel (I just muted it and never touched it again).

STOPsign Dude ! That’s a massive plus point. Each to their own but that shallow clutch pull is awesome once you get used to it. Actually thinking about it, it did bug me a bit on my R1200RS but once you get used to it, it’s the best thing ever. Super quick and smooth gear shifts in combination with the quick shifter. In case you haven’t done it. Turn the little adjustment wheel on the clutch to a 1 or 2 which pulls the lever in a bit. Might make it more comfy for you ! 🤟🏻👍🏻🏍
GL & Ticky Tocky, I've already adjusted the clutch lever to '1' but that only brings the clutch lever closer to the handlebar. It does not change the clutch engagement point. As mentioned, this is a very tiny nit pick of mine and I've adapted and gotten adjusted to it so it's not a big deal for me. I was just really reaching for something here because there isn't a lot that I don't like about the bike. But thanks for the advice and help!
Playing dodgems with ride light runners is fun. Luckily most of them miss but then there's that old bloke in his Volvo....... phew missed me ya ******** :)

I own the 2014 RT (LC) and its got to be the best all rounder Ive ever had. Things they could upgrade for 2019 that didn't..Lockable satnav / backlit switch gear / internal ariel.
You can easily install that yourself with the device you can buy on oldtimers.si/en/.

That's what you have to decide, pure comfort road only or a do everything bike... You see my choice, the one I took home, the GSA. But that's just me, don't use that as a gide..!

Just after some advice please.
I've noticed that some of the spokes on my back wheel have become loose before my next service is due (R1200 GSA). Would it be OK for me to tighten the spokes back up to the correct torque, or will I have to take it back into the dealership for them to do it?
If I can do it myself, what torque would you reccomend I set the spokes to?

Here in the UK there is a problem with some GS spokes coming loose. If there is I think its more than 7 loose they are replacing the complete wheel under warranty.

Why does the antenna have to be on the front of the bike on BWM's?
For the best reception... BMW doesn't do anything without seriously researching it first. The SuperView setting of my GoPro makes is seem like it's sticking out like that. You never notice it while riding or walking around the bike...

@@TheSmoaksVlogs I have a K1600B and I chose not to get the radio because of how awful the antenna looks.
I agree with Mr. Smoaks. People either hate them where they are located or it doesn't bother them at all. I am with the latter. However, if BMW could incorporate it into the windshield somehow (like in cars), that would make the bike even better looking. But it could be costly to do so and raising the price on this already heavy on the wallet bike might not go over too well with potential customers.
It is the same on my Triumph otherwise they would have to run the coax cable all the way thru the bike frame.

Theres one reason that the RT is not perfect,,,, They dont fuel up themselves.and to be fair the paint on the stands is 'nt BMW quality
