    I'm going to make something like this soon, thank you so much for showing your mistakes and how you overcame them most people don't and my takeaway from this is to drill the pivot point after I have the back together so it's not a problem cheers

    Excellent, well done, having started to lift weights and seen the cost of buying a bench, yet again on here, another carpenter with a large space and tools that I expect runs into the thousands of dollars, purports to others to save money by making one themselves. I did quickly price up the wood required to make a bench similar to yours from my local wood store and was twice as much as buying one of Ebay. Yes it is good to make your own, but I wonder when I see the likes of you and others on here, showing us how to make our own projects, how much is it, you're just wanting to show off, your skills, your space you have and all your equipment.

      What difference does my motivation make to you? You do what's best for you and I will handle what I think is best for me and I just may record it and post it.

    Hey on the instructions it says that the incline supports are only 5.5 inches is that a mistake?

  • @totallysick88able

    Nice! Work out equipment is way too expensive. Just makes sense to build your own and get the same effect from it

    As hard as it is for me to get out of a chair anymore I need an ejection seat know how to make one of them Greg? I like when people show their mistakes and then how to fix it shows others to take the chance and do it because you can fix things you make a mistake on. Now for my point of view ----- it's a sad day when you have to make a seat to sit on so you can relax after doing all that you do when in fact you should have made that first lol.

      LOL, my actual recliner is much more comfortable for relaxing than this wooden bench, although I could take a nap on this. Maybe I will give it a try for this afternoon's nap time.

    My M10 rod feels bendable. However I feel if I cut it shorter than it would be stronger. Is this normal?

    • @makergarage101
      @makergarage101  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cutting the rod shorter is going to make it bend less. That would be normal. Thanks for watching.

    Most all diy builds cutting slots, all use skilsaw and chisel out the scraps. I guess nobody has a wood router with a mortise bit…

    Nice but I don't think that's going to hold me and a couple hundred pounds or so of weights for bench pressing, though.

  • @jimvick8397
    @jimvick8397 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Any idea how much this will hold? I'm 6'6" 415lbs...

    • @makergarage101
      @makergarage101  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I have not tried it to failure. I am 180 lbs and have lifted about 100 lbs on it so far.

    • @jimvick8397
      @jimvick8397 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@makergarage101 I'd probably be lifting 30-50lb dumbbells or kettlebells... so, do you think it could hold 500-600lbs?
