This was a golden age of tech. We were really achieving a lot of great stuff rapidly, but there was no Facebook, or TikTok curating reality with algorithms.
@none_the_less yeah you always see the enthusiasm with it and connecting others. Today is more like "meh, mid, it's trash" "I'm bored, next" and my favorite "I need to randomly find a positive post comment so I can put it down someway". Really miss the Era of tech tv.
i think the worst part about nowadays is that even if our current website hellscapes existed with their algorithms back in the day, people would have just went "oh this is kinda dumb I'll just go to another website". Only issue now is because the internet is so centralized, there are no "other websites". Everyone has locked themselves into only a select few websites that hate their users more than any jaded forum owner ever could.
Such a great time to be alive. I was 19 and was so excited for what the future held. So optimistic. 22 years later and it's depression and anxiety about how much worse the future could possibly be. I feel for the youth of today; such a shitty time to be alive.
This was probably rescued from one of the DV tapes G4 threw out when they took over TechTV, as there are no VHS artifacts. That or it was taken from an old DVR, but going by the name of the channel...
I miss shows like this. It's not necessarily the content, but how it's setup. It is straight forward, it doesn't pander to anyone, it doesn't have an agenda to promote anything. It doesn't dumb down the content. It was just a clear program that provided a lot of content and help to people in a world that was changing.
Wow, I just rediscovered these old Tech TV shows today. It's great to see the old crew again. The internet back then was so primitive but yet everything held the promise of an optimistic future before mega corps and government started collecting your data, tracking your every movement etc. Can. I go back in time?
I'd seen this on the channel guide a ton of times, but it wasn't until I stayed home from school sick one day in the 7th grade and I decided to tune in. I was hooked immediately. I watched techtv/g4 religiously from then on.
Used to watcj this on DirectTv when I was still in high school. It's amusing to compare the technology from then to what's available now - and that webcam picture quality! XD

I've been looking for a certain episode of The Screensavers for years and maybe somebody reading this comment can help me find it. They had several hard drives hooked up to appear as a 1TB volume. They were using Windows XP and Leo said something like "You can tell your grandchildren you saw the first terabyte drive on the Screen Snickers. And no that is not a typo lol he was imitating the voice of an old man and called it The Screen Snickers. I would love to be able to find that episode as I've not seen it since it aired on TechTV all those years ago. Probably over 20 years ago at this point. But I never forgot about it. If anyone out there can help me find that episode I would greatly appreciate it.
🆘❓Does anyone remember a multi-host tech talk show in mid-90s that "triple-cast" itself live to TV, radio and online simultaneously? 📺📻🖥 Perhaps it was only in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, not sure if it was on ZD Net (all that was just emerging for me at the time), but I "think" it was? Maybe it was national? It had like 5 hosts, each representing an aspect of technology, a nerdy hardware guy, a cool trends guy, a cutesy pop/fashiony chick, etc. and they took calls/questions live, and it had a real fun, fast-paced feel. It didn't last long, just a few episodes I think, but I recall seeing some of the hosts for a while longer on the network afterwards for a while. 🆘HELP! I've tried searching here and there but I have to many gaps in my recollection to find anything. Does anyone else remember this? Thanks!😎

I forgot the name but there was a channel where each clip was under a certain time and there was a timer at the bottom of the screen.

I miss this show so much. I was so upset when, in my area, they removed TechTV in favor of the YES basball network.
