Looking at this as an adult now, this is legitimately solid advice for the time. Leo really did recommend the cheapest options when the person on the phone was clearly on a strict budget. Nowadays this isn't really needed, but Leo provided a very important service for a good decade on Canadian TV.

I used to cut class and go back home to watch Call for Help! LOL. Sometimes I would skip school entirely so I can could stay home and watch. Ha ha ha!.... good times.
Do you have the complete series saved somewhere? I have the Canada episodes but I haven't been able to find the US episodes. I really don't want them to get lost in the void. I grew up watching these.
In a way I'm glad the network ended when it did. Could you imagine how much politics would shit it up with the current celeb-politician culture? Oh you know what our webcam warriors were up to.
I still watch Leo on the many podcasts he hosts on twit or whatever now. Only one I can't stand is Mac break weekly. Rene is insufferable. I hate apple cultists. Apple products are usually okayish but defending their shitty ones is just ridiculous
