Me again, Q-tips are also good to clean around the base of your stoma. Instead of using spray adhesive remover, I have been happier with the adhesive remover wipes. Be more patient on the removal of your bag. Less pain. Give your stoma a name. Make him/her your personal friend. Mine is Peanut. I discovered he didn't like peanuts when he literally spit them out. I laughed so hard!!! He doesn't hesitate to let me know what foods he doesn't like. Make him your friend. When I shower, sometimes I let him come out to play. (Out of the bag) He loves to be au natural. This all helps your outlook. Best wishes for your surgery. You are in my prayers.
Thank you! I use spray adhesive remover for the outer adhesive ring and then adhesive remover wipes on my skin after I get the bag off. And yes, I've heard most people name their stoma. Maybe I will with the next one. I pretty much just called this one Little Jen as it's a part of me. That's too funny that your stoma didn't like peanuts! And I know some people prefer showering with the bag off. I did once. Now I usually shower on bag change day as the warmth, water, and steam from the shower seem to help loosen the adhesive. Thank you for sharing your tips! And for the prayers! I appreciate it so much! 💜
Hi Jenny! So much I want to say to you-but really, (finally) I just want to say that the worst will soon be behind you (no pun intended)! I also follow TiffanyThinks religiously, once this major procedure is a thing of your past I believe your level of pain and discomfort will significantly lessen. Jenny-you are my hero (Tiffany too) my life has been rocked by OsteoArthritis in the last year...I realize that there is no comparison at all to what you're going through but this is the first time in my life that my body has turned against me and severe pain has become a part of my daily existence! Thank you so much for sharing your struggles with the public! I never miss a Vlog and will be praying for you next week (and always)!!
It's always so nice to see your updates Jenny! And yes I remember that fabulous soup video! Sorry to here about the pain that day! Hope your ostomy/colostomy will become much better soon! Sending lots of love Jenny ❤You are so strong going through this and we will support you every step of the way! Stay strong and take care! ❤
Thank you. I'm trying. I'm glad people are finding it informative. I'll have mom keep you and the other cousins informed of how things will be going. 💜
You are a warrior....so brave. My thoughts and prayers are for you. I had 2 colon surgeries in my past, for different reasons than your upcoming surgery. It is one day at a time, but you are not alone! We are here, and what a supportive husband you have!! Prayers are going up for you!✝️🙏❤ Hugs
Thank you so much. I so appreciate that! Thinking of all the prayers has helped me. I hope you are all healed up from your surgeries and life is good! 💜
Jenny you have a good attitude. Your body is important and as long as it serves you to keep you alive that is what matters. The iliostomy or colostomy is important to keep you healthy. So that is good. All the best with your surgery.❤
Keeping you close in my prayers. I'm happy you are sharing your journey with us, it brings us closer. Take time to heal, we will all be here waiting to see more of your delicious recipe videos when you feel better. ❤
Ha, ha, thank you! I'm a little sad that I'm finally feeling well enough to do some cooking again and I'm going to be needing to rest for another month or so. That's ok, though. I'll get back to it! 💜
I had changed my brother's colostomy bag years ago. I thought that it was not bad at all. His was temporary. I am praying for you❤. I can't wait for the operation is over and that tumor is gone. I am praying you go through it safely and you become cancer free❤
I’m borrowing my sisters food processor so I can make those black bean brownies you shared. I haven’t watched the soup video yet but am looking forward to it.
I am sorry you are going through this kind of pain while you adjust to the change. Your body will get use to it, but it will take some time. It's ok to cry whenever you need to, but I believe it will get much better for you. God bless you Jenny!🙏🤗💜
They thought the tumor was too big to comfortably operate on. They were hoping to shrink it by half with the chemo and radiation and then be able to reverse the ileostomy. Unfortunately the tumor didn't really shrink so I'm grateful they are still able to do surgery. 💜
Yes, the Bible says we are wonderfully and fearfully made! With regards to ostomy bags. We learned with my husband’s ileostomy that if the stoma is retracted, it’s best not to use the waxy barrier rings, and also to get the convex bags. Also, changing a bag every day is actually much more irritating to the skin. If you use that adhesive remover pad, it really is tough on the skin. My husband wore a bag for a year and then got the reversal and a week after that were told he had stage four cancer so now we’re dealing with chemo and all that. Best to you ❤
Thank you for that information. I'm sorry for your husband's diagnosis. Prayers that he (and you) get through the chemo and any other treatments easily and with few side effects and that he will be healed quickly. 💜🙏
OMG what a strong woman you are. 1st off, if worried about the odor carry a couple ziplock baggies with you. No odor escapes them. I am known as the best person to have during emergencies; I have stitched people up using hypnosis because anesthetic wasn't available, delivered babies, removed stitches, and done dozen of other remarkable feats to keep a person alive. On the flip side of that coin, I do not do well with casual cuts, gashes, blood or goo. Then I am the worst person to have hanging around LOL. My distant cousin would only have me clean and change her esophageal stoma and it was the hardest thing in the world for me to do. My heart would cry for her and her new life without much of a voice. For cuts or bruises I rub it and tell the cells, "Ok everybody, get back into place, the trauma is over. You're safe now." I say and do silly things, but with the intention of a mighty healer. You are much stronger than I. If this was all an emergency situation it would be different, but all this time just ticking by. Wow. Your hubby is awesome also. In much LIGHT and LOVE, be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Morgan. My arms are wrapped around you!
Thank you so much! And thanks for sharing your stories. That is so nice of you to help others! I'm sure they are happy to have you as part of their team of friends and family! Thank you for being a part of my team! I appreciate you! 💜

May I ask why surgery to remove the tumour when you were diagnosed didnt happen?
They thought the tumor was too big to comfortably operate on. They were hoping to shrink it by half with the chemo and radiation and then be able to reverse the ileostomy. Unfortunately the tumor didn't really shrink so I'm grateful they are still able to do surgery. 💜
@@jenny_rice thank you and wishing you all the best from Australia xx
