    I got a uke 3 days ago and all the tutorials are just telling me what cords to do and not how to do them or how the strumming works and your teaching sounds so natural like you’re right here with me and I know all the chords used in this song now! Keep up the good work. I just subscribed :)

    This is good Ms.B thank you, I've learned a lot. Like how you broke it down into sections. This was like five or more tutorials pack into one. Ghost strumming is good way to remember the pattern. Slowing the speed helped. This is going in the uku journal. About half way through there was an add. It ask if I want to skip it,
    I didn't. I used the opportunity to shake out my fingers and stretch. When you were back I was all set to go. Good timing. Happy day.

    i enjoy your lesson and content. this is nothing to do with playing ukelele tho i would just like to point out when you used "sayonara" in Japanese, it mostly means 'farewell', as people will formally say to someone they likely will not see again. the better cheerful way could be "ma da ne", it roughly translates to 'see you later'. hope this helps :)

    This is fantastic, I love this song. It's incredible that such simple chords can sound so beautiful and full of emotion together. Should be easy to learn with this, thank you! There's nothing about this that's not great ❤️
    I'm just curious, this didn't really affect the quality of the tutorial at all but why did you choose to use the names of the fingers rather than the PIMA notation?

    • @BernadetteTeachesMusic
      @BernadetteTeachesMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I thought about using PIMA, but I figured that most of the people watching this have not seen my fingerstyle videos... I also figured that the people watching this would be beginners who just did a quick search for the song. I try to keep instructions super simple and accessible. I really wanted to add PIMA, though 😘😘

    Yes got it. Another song learn from you Mrs. Bernadette.
    Very clear & beautiful execution like always. The ghost strums is very helpful and cute.
    The key is to focus but relax. Thanks for this song. Love it.👍👍👍
    And is there any chance you would make more learning and play using musical sheet.
    What I meant is continue making "UKULELE Classroom" "UKE101" Lesson 4.
    If you add RHYTHMS in UKE101 and it will be perfect. 🎶🎶🎶
    I'm stuck at lesson 3 on UKE101. Really wanted to learn reading musical sheet and play with it. and I don't know what to do in RHYTHMS section.

    You increased speed of teaching compared to your tutorials in the very beginning - I do like that and until now I can follow along.
    Now coming to this tutorial - every part is well explained and easy to follow. I do like that you point out what is important and what the player has to keep an eye on.
    In this tutorial I was missing a written down measuring (counting???) under or above the strumming and picking pattern. I think this helps developing the personal skills.
    At the very end when you did a complete play-along it would have been helpful (for me) if the strumming pattern would have been displayed. I'm always that "nervous" that I forget what I just practiced. But I know that all that is a lot of work for you...
    ... so... as always you did a very good job! 👏 Thank you very much for sharing.
    Greetings from Germany

      Bernadette Teaches Music I am glad you are doing it now :) Your ukulele looks gorgeous by the way! I was thinking of buying an Enya ukulele somewhere in the future, but it looks like Amazon does not deliver these to my country. Hopefully, I can look for it on a different website. Do you know any other ukulele brands that are similar to Enya?

    • @BernadetteTeachesMusic
      @BernadetteTeachesMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Van Anh Ho I am not sure, but I will keep an eye out for one. Have you check out the new fender ukuleles? They have a similar body shape

      Bernadette Teaches Music Thank you for taking your time to answer the comments! Amazone is able to ship a few Enya ukuleles to my country, but sadly not the ones I am looking for. I will have a look at the Fender ukuleles.

    also, i would like to make couple of suggestions:
    at 2:40 when you are explain solo in this song and other also include a note sheet in addition to tabs - this will help to understand how it actually sounds because there are 4 eight-notes and 2 quarter-notes. Some people may try to play it all at the same length
    ------------------------------------------
    --------0♪--0♪--3♩-------0♩--------
    ---2♪------------------2♪-------------
    ------------------------------------------
    Like this or something. I think understanding how to count is very important from the very beginning.
    and another one at 4:14, why not use blank arrows for free hand move while strumming? like this: ⬆⇩⬆⇧⇩⬆⬇⬆
    once again, it will show the proper count and easier transition to more advanced techniques later on.
    I just love the way you explain how to play and i've been doing far more progress playing uke from scratch than watching any other tutorials! you rock!
    P.S. still waiting for you to wear fake mutton chops and teach us "In the summertime"! :P
    P.P.S. Raptide is easier to play with a pick

      I had a go! I want to try every new tutorial, but what I probably need to do is pick a favourite and concentrate on learning that one properly. By trying to learn everything I'm not taking the time to consolidate what I have learnt and the better foundations I build the better player I'll be.
