Just some fun facts and helpful tips:
6:24 That's not an enemy player. That is an NPC. There are player invasions and there are NPC invasions. Just FYI.
7:26 Not sure if you're intentionally joking or unintentionally but... hugging her does LITERALLY make you physically weaker. She gives you a debuff (removes like 10% of your health bar permanently). You can remove the debuff by using the "Baldachin's Blessing" item that she gives you.
7:32 This guy seems helpful but he is quite the asshole. He also curses you. After meeting him, you will lose a percentage of the souls you recover after each death (meaning when you die you only recover like 80% of the souls you lost instead of 100%). This is not permanent. The effect is only active during the first time you visit the castle. When you leave the castle area the effect disappears (or after you kill the main boss in the castle area, not sure to be honest).

Good video i will just give you a tip. If you ever feel like something is too hard you always can leave go somewhere else level up a bunch, upgrade weapon get new skills and then come back. Some useful tips
Level vigor. Vigor has a non linear scaling and softcaps: leveling vigor from 10 to 20 doesn't make much difference, but going from 20 to 40 is going to give you a lot of health. Going from 40 to 60 for the lategame could be useful if you don't want to use 20 points elsewhere or you're using magic and trying to stay away in order to cast spells.
This game encourages exploration more than any other fromsoftware game. Margit(gud) is a boss that encourages you to explore more if a boss/general encounter seems too hard at first glance. That's why most people go into stormveil around level 30.
Teo hand your weapons. You'll not only do more damage, but you'll get access to their weapon arts, or how the game calle them, ashes of war. The ash of war for the uchigatana, your current weapon, is arguably the strongest there is in the game.
Also, you've missed a VERY important item in the gatefront ruins. You don't need to kill anything, but thrust me, it is extremely useful
    Also, good video

@@TrashedCans maybe you don't know what the gatefront ruins are. They're the set of ruins where Melina offered you the steed, was the lance guy and where ahead there was a passage to stormhill with the troll and the crossbow soldiers.
Also, the godslayer seal makes you cast incantations and it's better if you're below 50 faith. There's however, better seals for faith strength and faith intelligence. I, though, don't recommend doing a faith strength first playthrought, and strongly not recommend a faith intelligence first playthrought, as it's the hardest build to make

My first Soulsborne game was DS3 and only played it before Elden Ring at the beginning of this year. I can confirm i also got absolutely trashed in stormveil castle. Couldn't find any graces. After completing the game 6 or 7 times now, i just want to leave a couple pieces of advice.
The game is as hard as you want it to be. If you want a challenge, go straight where the grace is pointing you, that's the "main questline". If you have the time, patience and you want to take it easier, go explore everywhere but the main questline. You'll find stuff to help you later down the road.
This game is unlike most games. Not only that it makes almost no effort in helping you find graces, items, spells, weapons, it actually tucks them away behind bushes, trees, on top of rocks, in side rooms. You geniunely need to be looking for them in a dungeon like stormveil where you cannot use your Double Jumping Goat Torrent. Don't get discouraged, Stormveil is a big dungeon, not all castles are as big and confusing.
Don't explore outside (dungeons such as castles are fine) during the night unless you're feeling extra edgy. Nightime actually matters in this game. Don't want to spoil much, but let's just say there are only night time bosses that appear only during night and they're more difficult than the daytime level of the area.
There are hidden catacombs. Took me forever to find my first one and some i never found without a walkthrough. Look for a door in a mountain or what looks like a mining shaft.
If something looks like it's taking you a while to beat and you're dying over and over, consider to leave it aside and come back to it later when you're more leveled up.
Lastly, level up vigor to 40 and then 60. More hp means you can take a couple of hits before the YOU DIED screen, meaning more room for error.
Storytelling is very subtle in this game. You'll find yourself in the middle of your playthrough not understanding much and that's ok. That's what they expect off your first playthrough anyways.
Sorry for the long message, hope you continue playing the game, it's really good.

on the off chance you haven’t figured it out, if you’re in the castle and you go up the ladder that you use the rusty key to access, you can turn left and go up the stairs where you’ll see a door right next to an item (a silver fowl foot). if you go through that door, turn left, climb up the stairs, go into the tower, ignore the knight with the halberd and run up the stairs, and there’s a grace puddle in the room there. love the video, especially your notes, hope you make this a series

@@TrashedCans my first play through was exactly the same lmao. if i had to give one other thing to be aware of, the uchigatana you’re using deals a status effect called blood loss, which essentially means that each time you hit an enemy you’re filling an invisible bar, and when that bar fills it takes away a chunk of that enemy’s health. the cool thing about that is that that chunk is percentage based, so whether something has 500 or 500,000 hp it will take away the same percentage of damage. that’s why you may have noticed every once in a while margit’s health dropping by a bunch randomly. anyway just a neat thing to keep in mind since if you focus your build on doing blood loss it can get ridiculously strong. keep up the great work!

  • @cincameron
    @cincameron 2 ปีที่แล้ว

My only recommendation based on what I've heard you struggle with during this video is to simply read the menus and item descriptions (not every single one ofc, just interesting/unique looking ones). A lot of players feel the need to do research on google when the game gives you all the info you require to understand the mechanics and story... with few exceptions that wont really matter anyways. This applies to the map too, as small structures and a few caves can be spotted on the map before you unlock them. The game encourages some exploration before following the main path.
At least you wrote notes, which I wish everyone else would do since this is like the 6th souls game and we should all know people will never repeat themselves in these conversations.
Also that's not a player that invaded you, but an NPC. They disabled player invasions during solo play this game.
