Hey, just an F.Y.I., replacing alcohol with the plant "Kratom" from Indonesia helped me quit drinking. Stopped drinking when the pandemic started. Noticed how much extra cash I had after the weekend. The cost benefit analysis of being sober is fine with me.
Same. Stopped about 3-4 months into the pandemic, and quite literally everything was better for it. More money, healthier looking skin, a better attitude, and I got 2 kittens (not kittens anymore 😂) who I refuse to let down in any way. I feel like my fur-babies became my 'booze' because I'm addicted to those cute little furry faces 🐈⬛️🐈🥰!
Alcohol is not the culprit here. You can save a lot of money by staying at home and not going any places where you can spend it. Even not during a pandemic. Cook at home. Drink coffee at home. Bake at home. And avoid casinos.
Definitely freaks a lot of people out when you tell them you don't drink especially if it is not related to alcoholism/sobriety they can't wrap their minds around it. Shrinks the dating pool considerably. But that can be a good thing.
I was an alcoholic for over 10 years. Have been sober for over 20 years. I’ve tried a few drinks since then, I don’t like the taste nor effects of it anymore. Feels great to be sober.
In a hypothetical world where alcohol was only discovered yesterday, it would be immediately labelled as a toxic poison, dangerous to human health, and prohibited from sale because of the short and long term effect on the body and the mind.
Absolutely. It still is a poison that must be avoided, because of its grave negative social, economic, and health implications. I really respect societies that have banned alcohol as a whole.

I often ask the people who act like there is something wrong with me because I don't drink to cite one good thing that happened to them in their life BECAUSE they drink and that would not have happened if they didn't drink. 99 Out of 100 can't name a single thing. 1 Couple who were raging alcoholics and embarrassing themselves all evening with their over the top behavior, actually said, "We would never have met eachother." Apparently, they met at a college frat party and were drinking heavily. Their description, not mine. That had been over 10 years prior and they were oblivious to the revelation that, in spite of aging 12 years and getting married, they hadn't matured a single day emotionally. They were literally emotionally arrested at 18 and never advanced beyond their college drinking days. Their entire existence revolved around the consumption of alcoholic beverages beverages. Sad, really. The next day, at a breakout session, all they could talk about was how hammered they had gotten the night before, how sick they felt, and how they were the last people from our group left at the club and had "Closed the place down." Nobody in the group was impressed. It was truly embarrassing. 😬
I agree with this man and we are very similar when it comes to drinking. I am 55 now , however when I was in my early twenties my family and I visited a winery. I was able to taste several fine wines, red, white, etc. I didn’t like any of them. The taste of alcohol was just nasty to me. As the years went on, people would tell me to try wine coolers because they were supposedly “fruit flavored “ and “ didn’t really taste like alcohol”. I was also told that “ you have to get used to the taste”. Why? It didn’t make sense to me. Also, I have seen how some people act a fool when they’ve had a little too much. Although a little modest drinking is not wrong, I just decided not to drink at all. To each his own. Or as my ninth grade Spanish teacher used to say, “ Whatever floats your boat, flips your lid, etc.” ( …and a few other expressions I don’t remember)
I, too, don't like the taste. The line I always get is "You don't drink for the taste you drink for the way it feels." To which I always reply, "Well when I drink it I feel like I'm going to gag and throw up." This usually gets them to stop trying.

So many assumptions are made... if it's not related to addiction, then many act like you're sheltered or the equivalent of clergy or some authority figure in their life and you'll be judging them if they do. . . which is probably a reasonable assumption to have because when you try to find other people to hang with that don't drink or rarely. . . there's a greater tendency for them to be on the militant side of it. A natural and instantly likeable. Great to hear some talk about what reactions you get when you say you don’t drink alcohol 😂 because it’s true! I never liked the taste of alcohol from when I first tried it. You had peer pressure, come on you git to drink!! Finally, I had to be on medication which meant I couldn’t drink and I’m on it for life! 😉 😂
This was very funny. I don't drink either, and for the same reason, never liked the taste, and didn't get the whole "It's an acquired taste" thing. First time I tried it was Iron City Beer, and it was just so bad. We used to joke that they must take the cooling water from the steel mills in Pittsburgh and just pipe them right on down to the brewery and pour it straight into the vats. LOL! And it is so true, people don't believe it when you tell them you don't drink, and why. And that is what makes this bit outstanding, funny because it is true.
I've never touched alcohol either. When I turned 21 I said, do I wanna try it? And I was like, Nah, I'm good. Twice past my 21st and still get a lot of the same reactions he gets. I just chose not to.
What I do or don't do is no one else's business, is my attitude. If asked "What would you like to drink?" when out, I'll just say I'd love an orange juice or similar "soft" drink. I never mention that I don't drink. No one ever presses me on it, because it's not open for discussion.
Love this guy. I've finally found another member of my tribe -- I don't drink bc I don't like the taste! (IMO, fuzzy navels are okay bc you don't taste the alcohol.) I've also never understood the appeal of getting drunk. I'm just like, "Whatever. I'll be the designated driver."
I used to love to drink until 5 years ago around the age of 27. Then I started getting migraines so bad after just 1 or 2 drinks. I physically can’t tolerate alcohol at all anymore.
I dont drink, my thinking was always: "Why would i wanna drink something that tastes like nail polish remover, makes me stupider, and might make me puke?"
I'm not a drinker either and I TOTALLY get the same reactions when I say I don't drink. I have drank a few times, but like him, most of the stuff just tastes like crap to me! Especially beer! I worked in a bottle room in high school before these fancy do it yourself machines and the rank leftover splashes of beer in cans and bottles reaked and I would end up smelling like beer when I'd be done for the night. Lucky I never got pulled over driving home, they would have tried to bust me for drinking and driving!
I have had 3 alcoholic drinks that were enjoyable, expressly because they had very little alcohol to ruin the flavor. The one time I did a shot I got buzzed for 30 minutes which basically just made me lightheaded and my limbs felt a little floppier. Between all that and the cash in my wallet I don't think I'm missing out on anything.
I can 100% relate to this.😊 Never taken alcohol once in my life. Tasted it a couple of times - awful. Don't get appeal of being drunk, I am crazy enough already. Eventually had to come up with excuse of "weak pancreas" (partial functional excretory insufficiency of pancreas, for my medical friends) to definitely explain why, if someone asked.
I'm 55 and I've never even tried drinking. I don't understand why anyone would want their thinking to be impaired. Like "I'm tired of being smart, I want to be stupid for a few hours!"
I used to drink when I was younger! I raised my son by myself and when he got to be a certain age, I knew that I had to be his role model! So I stopped going out but would have a couple of drinks when I went out to dinner. Then I got sick and almost died because of my colon. Then I would take a small drink of alcohol and I would be in the bathroom sick as a dog!!! It is funny when I tell people I don't drink, they say the same things to me!!!! 😂
I would understand/not assume why, because #1: I know some fellow Christians who were raised to or now believe to, never have any alcohol. Personally, I can't afford it either financially or with my health issues, and that incl. non-alcoholic drinks, because they're neither free nor healthy (enough for me, currently) either. So, yeah. My hubby likes his whiskey and dark ales but also can't indulge often so water is the norm for us. Esp. when we're out. We can barely afford the meal and tip, I'm not spending $$$ on drinks ( incl. coffee unless we just need it) that I can make for lots less at home, and/or with OG, mold free ones at that.
Yes! Finally, someone else points out the absurdity of "You've got to learn to like it!" I have always had the same reaction as Wali: "Why in the world would I do that?!?" 🤔

What I do or don't do is no one else's business, is my attitude. If asked "What would you like to drink?" when out, I'll just say I'd love an orange juice or similar "soft" drink. I never mention that I don't drink. No one ever presses me on it, because it's not open for discussion.
Grape Mad Dog was the first drink I ever had.
Last time I drank was 9 years ago, it was a lemon drop shot and it took me over an hour to finish 😂18 years before the lemon drop shot I had a beer😂
I can feel the audio engineers pain every time he hit the mic stand with the mic 🫣
Thank you! Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that!
That was hilarious! "Here comes the chaser!" 😂😂😂
As a bar owner, I can vouch that people doing shots react exactly like portrayed.
I used to love to drink until 5 years ago around the age of 27. Then I started getting migraines so bad after just 1 or 2 drinks. I physically can’t tolerate alcohol at all anymore.
I watched this while drinking lol
I also did a shot when he mentioned shots
Excellent set!
I dont drink, my thinking was always: "Why would i wanna drink something that tastes like nail polish remover, makes me stupider, and might make me puke?"
When people try to push booze on me I just tell them I’m stupid enough already. Usually does the trick.
Smooth voice and funny. Way to go bro!
Comedians who yell all the time are annoying.
They would have busted you unless you can stand on one foot, say the alphabet backwards, pat your head, and rub your tummy all at the same time.
@@mikebond6328 while walking backwards in a straight line for 19 steps!
Somebody has to be the Designated Driver.... and yes that was ME!!!!!!!
LoL 😆😆😆
Unfortunately I'm a work in progress 🙏🏾
But soooo true and hilarious 👍🏾🤎
I have had 3 alcoholic drinks that were enjoyable, expressly because they had very little alcohol to ruin the flavor. The one time I did a shot I got buzzed for 30 minutes which basically just made me lightheaded and my limbs felt a little floppier.
Between all that and the cash in my wallet I don't think I'm missing out on anything.
MD actually stands for Mogan David, the manufacturer of the wine.
I dont drink..Never really liked the loss of control when you drink.
I can 100% relate to this.😊
Never taken alcohol once in my life.
Tasted it a couple of times - awful.
Don't get appeal of being drunk, I am crazy enough already.
Eventually had to come up with excuse of "weak pancreas" (partial functional excretory insufficiency of pancreas, for my medical friends) to definitely explain why, if someone asked.
Love it!
I'm 55 and I've never even tried drinking. I don't understand why anyone would want their thinking to be impaired. Like "I'm tired of being smart, I want to be stupid for a few hours!"
No way! Mad Dog 20/20 was the first drink of alcohol I ever had too 😅
She said Uh....... Uh 😂😂
I can relate. Never liked the taste and drunks are irritating. 😝
That’s why most people drink, to tolerate other people who drink, and people who don’t drink.
Very funny!!!! 😄
This guy looks like Nipsey Russell😂
And a little like Lou Rawls too. 😊
Mogen David 20/20 purple, used to be popular. So was Boones Farm, Annie Green Springs, T J Swan, just to name a few.
FINALLY, someone understands one of the main reasons I don't drink 😆 Why force myself to keep drinking something gross?
At 14 when i had MD dude just brought up all memories and taste lol
he is really good 🙂
I used to drink when I was younger! 😂
Wali was hilarious. He was just on my podcast called “What’s So Funny About…?”
He is so adorable lovable funny friendly person
Lmao. I just never started lol
Full special on TH-cam please
So relatable.. I don't care for the taste either, and my first drink was mad dog 20/20..
I used to smoke pot. Well, I still do, but, I used to, too.
Mad dog 20/20, Boone's Farm, and Ripple when I was a kid. Probably the same reason I never learned to like the taste either.
this is so true
