Wolverine remembered the world how it should be because wanda reshaped the world and granted everyone's secret wishes, in case of logan it was to remember everything from his life, since all those agencies that used him in the past used to erase his memory time and time again. That's why he remembered everything.
I don't think I ever realized that was the reason. Damn, Bendis is good. I just accepted that any universe reshaping isn't 100% effective, and since Wolverine is popular, then sure he's the one to remember. I know that character Layla Miller (I think that's her name) remembered because that's basically her power.
Micah-David Saunders Layla Miller is just an deux ex machina.. Bendis didn't know how to finish this so he created this character only for the purpose to push the story.. She wasn't a big character after this event..

Tobio Smash Most definitely. He likes having lofty goals, but rarely plots out the conclusion. If you can get past that though, House of M is very good. I enjoyed the main story, but I felt the tie-ins were a bit lacking in substance.
Well right now almost everything he touches looses it's substance instantly. (yeah I still remember civil war II)
I thought Secret Wars (2015) was absolutely fantastic! The buildup to Secret Wars (2015) was so intense and so well written that when the actual event came out, everything just fell into place so smoothly. That would be #1 on my list. Then followed by House of M and then Original Sin.
I’d love to see “avengers secret wars” in the next 5 years, I think in a movie it would be insane, especially if the Russo brothers make it

Secret Wars 2015 is hands down the best Marvel event ever made with its only folly being the departure of the F4 and the nothing change after the event ended
Night Lord yeah.. But the writer did an incredible job building this whole event up (Reed Richards & Council of Reeds researching the Multiverse, The Illuminati discovering and trying to stop the Incursions, Avengers World, Original Sin, Time runs out, Infinity) its just amazing. Its so sad Marvel ignored this event..
I liked it more than DC's _Convergence_ yet I enjoyed DC's two-part books way more than Marvel's event spin-offs.
Original Sin was absolute crap. But kudos on Jonathan Hickman for he is awesome and he built up to Secret Wars 2015 on a masterful stroke.
That's understandable considering DC handles its events and books far better than Marvel in the past decade
House of M was so good I remember reading when I was 13
I just realized something: Marvel's House of M storyline sounds almost similar to DC's Flashpoint storyline. The similarities being that Wolverine and Barry remember everything before the change and retained their powers and memories; contrasting though... The Flashpoint universe was an alternate timeline and the House of M is still remembered by everyone.
Events and some storylines took years to conclude I recommend reading in this order:
For House of M storyline
House of M > Messiah Complex > Messiah War > 2nd Coming
For Civil War Storyline
Civil War > Secret invasion > Utopia > Siege
For Cosmic Storyline
Annihilation > Annihilation Conquest > War of Kings > Realm of Kings > The Thanos Imperative

Cosmic storyline FTW. Inhumans in their prime, in my opinion. Plus the Shi'ar and formation of the current Guardians of the Galaxy. Those 5 interconnected stories are amazing. Since Marvel Studios says they're looking to go more cosmic after Avengers 4, they should definitely try at least Annihilation....if they can get the characters from Fox. I doubt they have Vulcan, so they couldn't do Realm of Kings or War properly.
Micah-David Saunders annihilation was my favourite. Didnt really like thanos imperative, but the ending was a tear jerker
Itsbestbro Fair enough. I listed it more because those 5 storylines form a nice, cohesive arc. Events from Annihilation still resonated in Thanos Imperative. Unfortunately Marvel doesn't format their events like that anymore.

Damian Charleston secret wars 2015 isn't on this list and it should be plus onslaught sucks and civil war is better than house of m and age of apocalypse that's what they got wrong
Disassembled and House of M are really back to back reads and a continuing story line. Scarlet Witch is both an Avenger and a mutant which is why it crosses over so well. I highly recommend reading Disassembled first and then M right after.
Avengers vs XMEN isn't very good but it has some good tie ins

Not to be picky, but the 2015 Secret Wars wasn't Secret Wars II, that title belongs to the 1985 event. The 2015 crossover title was simply called Secret Wars (2015). There was also the 2005 miniseries called Secret War, but I digress 😂
Yeah, Marvel needs to inject a little creativity into those event titles. I didn't much care for the Civil War II title. Series was okay, but it did not have the meat to it to call itself that.
Brandon Ronk Civil War II only really existed to capitalise on last year's Captain America movie. I think even the writers of the comic themselves said that was the reason it was done. With the original Civil War being one of the first major comic books I read, I was extremely disappointed in the sequel.
You got that right. There was a really small group of characters taking part in that event, after the ''reboot'' there was a great deal of supes that were nowhere to be seen, everything seemed so forced.........My favorite part was when the younger heroes were praising riri williams (a character I currently hate until I see a story of her at the level of demon in a bottle) because she did so well in the battle when she was only flying around like she didn't care at all about the battle. Another senseless herovshero fight.

I also find it slightly annoying that due to the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy in film (I'm not against that part) that Marvel feel the need to shoehorn in them as much as possible into comic events. I first noticed it reading Original Sin in 2014, when for some reason Gamora was helping with Uatu's murder investigation, and all of a sudden Rocket Racoon turns up for no apparent reason. It happened again in Secret Wars when Groot turned up for some reason, and again with Civil War II when the Guardians turned up to "turn the tide". I mean, come on, before they got successful in their film, never in the comics did the Guardians showing up mean you instantly were going to win.
I didn't really mind in original sin but now? I've had enough, I don't even follow their comic anymore and they have changed volumes like 2 or 3 times since 2015, and by the way the black vortex was just stupid, I like angel's new wings, but stupid anyway.

nice to see 4 of my faves on the list ( Onslaught, Infinity Gauntlet, Secret Wars and Age of Apocalypse )...most of the list happened after I stopped reading comics though...

Thank you. I recommend those two before most of the events on this list. Annihilation, Conquest, War of Kings, Realm of Kings, and Thanos Imperative are too often overlooked.
Or the original Annihilation, seriously any one of the space events from that time period wouldve been fine

WORLD WAR HULK
All day every day for the rest of my life. If they ever made a live action movie (and had the rights to the other characters), I would take off from work and see that movie for a week straight in theaters. Hulk is my favorite Marvel character, so Planet Hulk and World War Hulk are essentially pornography.
Overrated story. And the animated movie sucked.

Inferno should have gotten an honorable mention. Marvel's really started to overuse the events though... I think it's reaching a point where there is almost more time in 'events' than just normal storylines any more.

Wolverine was able to remember everything because Scarlet Witch granted all of the heroes' wishes. Spider-man was loved publically and had a son with Gwen, Cyclops was so in love with Emma Frost that he didn't end up with Jean somehow, Captain America was never frozen in ice and lived a good life, and Wolverine finally remembered his past. It was the one flaw in the entire grand plan.
World war hulk didn't even make the actual list.....
Now I get why Disney is focusing a lot on Wanda, she’s powerful as f and she will play a huge role in how the new phases of the MCU are gonna be put together moving forward. It makes a lot of sense because she’s the perfect to introduce the X-men into the MCU.

I didn't care for Civil War but one thing that impressed me about it was that it did have ramifications. So often I hear the tagline "Nothing will be the same again!" and nothing comes of it. This was different. The SHRA was the law and if you did not register than you would be treated exactly the same as the criminals you fought. Impressive.

I'm the opposite. I thought _Original Sin_ was meh at best even though it did lead to a couple cool stories in the other books like Deadpool finding his daughter and Ben Grimm trying to kill Torch after learning he's why he was never cured.
_Axis_ was fantastic. The villains as heroes was a unique approach and it was interesting to see how some of our favorites heroes would act with no scruples. Carnage, Hobgoblin, Sandman, Dr. Doom, Sabertooth, and Loki all came out way stronger personalities than they did before. If anything, I wish _Axis_ had more lasting effects with more of the heroes and villains staying inverted instead of just Ironman.

It's not an event. It was only a 2-issue arc with no crossover.
Nice list but I'm a bit biased as an X-Men fan. Would have liked to see Pheonix Saga and/or Days of Future Past make the list. AOA makes sense though.

I have tons of love for House of M, it's in my top 3 with Civil War and Age of Apocalypse. But when #1 was coming up, I wasn't sure if they were gonna do M or Phoenix. Definitely needed a mention at the least.
They are talking about "Event Series" dark reign and Dark Phoenix saga aren't event series. although Annihilation is and it is good.
Dark Reign wasn't a series. It was a temporary change in the status quo. Granted, it was fantastic, but I think that's why it wasn't eligible for this list. At least they included the event that started it (Secret Invasion), and the event that ended it (Siege).

The House of M main series is good, but all the tie-ins sucked, and didn't build a cohesive universe like Age of Apocalypse which is far superior. House of M should be like 6 or 7 really, do they even read comics? Bendis' work building up to Siege (Dark Reign and the List) and the Secret Invasion tie-ins eclipse his work on House of M.
In X-Men vs Avengers, you guys definitely say "This turn of events pits the two pillars of the X-Men universe against each other" which makes no sense, I have read the story. You meant to say "the two pillars of the Marvel universe."

I liked Acts of Vengance. Well it could have been done better, but the idea behind it, that Supervillains switch their usual targets to get their enemies on the wrong foot. For example think of how much damage Mr. Sinister can do to the Avengers (also most of the time there is enough genetic material for Sinister to stay interested). Or Kang vs. the X-Men.

God Doom was kinda neat, but it definitely rates low among the pack. If you liked that one, you should really check out the Age of Apocalypse series. It's a really cool alternate universe setting with some awesome twists on characters you know.
+Captain Obvious it may not be your taste but it's definitely not one of the worst thanos stories because it actually one of the best marvel events in history.

Wow. Onslaught and Siege BOTH greater stories than The Dark Phoenix Saga. Messiah Complex and House of M greater than Fall of the Mutants or God Loves, Man Kills. Hmmm. Seems legit.
FAR too much emphasis on modern "crossover" books that I think most people will agree don't live up to the hype.
You should have included: The FF's first encounter with Galactus, The Kree-Skrull War, The Avengers-Defenders War, The original Adam Warlock/Ultimate Avenger vs. Thanos tale, The Dark Phoenix Saga, The Death of Kraven the Hunter, Frank Miller's entire run on Daredevil, and so many more. You may not realize it, but comic books have pretty much sucked since 1990.

There was some fun stuff like axis. House of M Masters of evil was the best I ever saw Hood. Quotin Italian anti-defamation league made by Mobsters to silence stereotypes was amazing.

I personally liked House of M but Age Of Apocalypse is what brings me back to my childhood and should be #1. I still have every one of them. I also enjoyed AvX, Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe and the Zombie Series.

Avengers vs. X-Men was terrible through and through. Including it on your list invalidates the entire thing.
And Civil War is even worse. The only version of it that wasn't totally godawful was the MCU version.

Civil War: Warzones was cool. Civil War is by far the most divisive event. EVER> Half of the people love it and say it got them into comics, half o the people say it was the beginning of the downfall. But it sold like hell. One thing we can agree on. It ruined Iron Man. Permanently.
