Thank you Brady for sharing this great information. Your knowledge and skills are made easy to use less knowledgeable people your a blessing God's Blessings to you and all your adventures
Thanks, Perry!
Awesome tool. I was excited when I found it this year. The GoHunt tool is by FAR, the best OVERALL tool for western hunting. I also love the fact, as I've said many times now, how GoHunt listens to hunters and adds features even something as simple as bench and saddle icons! YAY! You guys rock!
Great video great new tool thanks for sharing!
You bet!
Could you guys do a video showcasing all of the mounts you have in the office. Or just some of your favorites?
Really great idea! Lots of stories can come from this. Appreciate the suggestion, Julian.
Great idea! Stay tuned. 👊
Hey Brady, can you give the background on Trophy Potential?
Hey Mr. GT, this is Brady responding to you. Happy to help. We display "Trophy Potential" on Insider for every unit and every species in each state. What this number means in a sense, is what you have the potential to expect in terms of age class or antler size/horn size. We arrive at those values based on historical record book trends, talking to outfitters, biologists and information from ourselves and friends and family who hunt those units. Keep in mind that that number isn't strickly a fact on what you will see. Each unit could have outliers and might produce an animal a lot smaller or bigger than those values, but we feel those values give you an idea of what you truly could expect when you're hunting that unit if you put in the time and hard work. Certain areas of states historically might produce bigger bucks or bulls based on a states management strategy, tag numbers, and even the soil and feed quality. So you will typically see that reflected in our trophy potential values. There's a lot of ways to look at that data when you're in Filtering 2.0, as if you crank that value as high as it goes, sure you'll see the areas that might have the better odds at finding animal that meets that trophy potential, but it might come at a cost of waiting a long time to draw that tag. But if you drop that down some, you will probably have more units that meet that number, and maybe there are some other factors to examine at the same time that might make a unit with lesser trophy potential more appealing to you. And if you don't really care about finding an older age class animal and just want to hunt, that is totally fine as well. Just keep that value lower and just find a unit you like and get out and hunt and have a great time. Hope all that helps you out.
@GOHUNT appreciate it Brady! I enjoyed your Tajikistan story so much that I'm starting to plan my own trip!
@@MrGT3 so glad you enjoyed that recap! I feel like I owe it to the animals to share as much as I can about that trip in terms of photos, video and text as it is such a special, special hunt/adventure. So can't wait to hear how that hunt goes for you someday. It's something that I truly wish everyone could plan and do. - Brady
Very helpful. Thanks, Brady!
Very glad you enjoyed the walkthrough! If you ever have questions, feel free to let us know.
Awesome new tool and I can’t wait to put it to use this season. A question or maybe suggestion if not possible, can you attach a folder of waypoints from e scouting on maps to the notes on hunt planner?
Great suggestion I second this.... could hunt folders in maps be linked to the hunt planner?!
agreed that would be a stellar feature add!
This is a gamechanger, thanks Brady
👊👊👊
When will Iowa be added to the hunt planner. Or is it, and I'm just not seeing it.
Is there any plans to link directly to mapping from the planner. So if you escout a unit could get to that escout plan right from the planner?
We have actually been talking about that with the team, but would love to hear how you would use it and how we could best build it to meet your needs. Shoot any ideas you have to mailto:Insider@GOHUNT.com or your contact info and we'd love chat with you about it.
How many units can you save onto your Hunter planner?, I was saving a few units that I was interested in, and once I went to the folder I created, only 2 ranks showed up
Update, never mind I was doing it on my phone, closed the app logged back in, now it’s letting me add more than just 2 units 😅
Hey Jesus. You are able to add as many units as you want. If you are seeing issues adding any units, please send us an email to reachus@GOHUNT.com and someone from our team will help you out.
Good job
Can I plan a hunt in Africa, or Australia, New Zealand, Mexico?
Sure, just not with gohunt
Hi Jonathan! Currently, our service is focused in the United States. You are able to use all of our mapping features outside of the United States, but we currently do not have research for the areas you are looking for.
Use it on android phone?
Hey Gary, great question. You can use this on your computer or the web browser on a cell phone. So this tool is separate from our mapping application. So short answer, yes you can use it on your android device if you are on an internet browser. Hope you had a great weekend, Gary!
I can’t be the only one that noticed the stickers on Brady’s computer 😂
😂
hahah my eyes went straight there when I stated the video!
Awesome 👏 and welcomed feature.
As some of you may know it’s been a dream of mine to do a pronghorn hunt in multiple states. What better state than Wyoming? Plus since I am coming west (over 20 hours drive away) I am also planning on applying for rifle mule deer 🦌. So a tool like this would definitely help me keep track of what I’m thinking about for both species.
Thanks 😊 Brady for thoroughly explaining this new tool. I may have to reach out to you all via email or instagram dm. 🦌
