I had a 2009 Thruxton for ten years and a 2016 Thruxton R for seven years. Both were modified over time both cosmetically and mechanically. I have even drag raced and did land speed racing on both. I sold the 2009 about four years ago but it's still running around the city. The 2016 is still in my garage after doing 151 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Sad end to the lovely Thruxton.But, watch this space he said. That mean's something else is in the pipeworks. I think we could be getting an RS version of the 1200 Speed Twin with the Thruxton engine. We shall just have to wait and see.

Its a shame - but they should have left the original ice silver gloss with the aluminium engine cases and wheels in the range. All those other colour schemes and blacked out everything looked a bit iffy and ruined the bikes simple beauty.

Cafe racers are not as appealing as they were, and, I think the big one is are emissions going to mean more development ? The Silver ice and chrome look the best. Watch this space, interesting comment ?

Why on earth they went green is beyond me. Looks disgusting. It’s subjective of course but fuck man, why get rid of the silver?!? That was literally the best colour!!!! Even when the rs came out they had the shortest paint schemes for it. Like wtf was that Matt black with red and grey strips? Are you serious? They should of kept that silver with optional black wheels. Plus they should of done like a Porsche 911, old school matte grey and black wheels and badge. Man that would look smart

The green is beautiful. Far nicer than the silver in my humble opinion. With those gold stripes it looks sheer class.
