One of the most intense scenes of the film, and one that is truly memorable. A scene where it slowly starts building up, and where it all starts to go down. If only she was able to pull it off for Leon to live on with her towards the end of the film even though if she waited, and followed along to what Leon said, all of them would've been taken out already which he was already doing. Like when Leon told her to stay at the apartment they were in when she asked where he was going since this mission was to much for her, as he was going out of his way to get her killers & avenge her family, and how he explained to her, if she were to do it, she would have to sleep with one of her eyes open at all times since there's no peace onwards after that, as well as how he struggles with life already from the very first time he's had to clean, and all his life he's been doing this & how much he cares for her, feels for her, and much more. Like what a film, with honestly so much to say. A film with such strong emotions that it moves you, it changes you, it touches your heart so much, and really gives you so many meanings about life and how its seen as well. Especially with the duo they were, the bond they had, and the build-up they had on each other. The motivation, meanings to one anothers life. One of the greatest movies of all time. Truly legendary, iconic, emotionally intense, heartfelt, and much more with soundtracks that are honestly so heartfelt as if it just pierces your heart, like it touches you so much. A film that is unforgettable, and will always have a special place in my heart. It honestly just means so much. Never forgotten, and always remembered. One of my favorite films, and one that is better felt, than explained with so much to keep on saying. Truly endless.
Brilliant movie. Brilliant acting from the best of the best. Gary Oldman, Jean Reno, and the absolutely outstanding Natalie Portman. When I first saw her in this movie back in 1994, I believed that she would become world famous. For such a young girl, you could see the raw talent emerging through the rather complex character of Mathilda.
If only she was succesful, but what a character Stansfield is, almost as if he can detect darkness all the time.
Guy played so well because he was in prison before
Moral of the story is Don't follow someone if act too easy
So smart for the plan and disguise but, in the final act of the plan she's very impulsive and seems not have a idea to make after enter in the DEA with all of this guns. Mathilda if have the skills and tecnique of Leon, would have maked the most brutal steath scene maked in a movie for a child, but i think Besson (and the parents of Natalie haha) not have agreed this 'cause for parents Mathilda would a mirror for other kids and Besson wanted in her a desire for vengeance but not skills for it because she's not have experience. The plan reveals your name to Stan, but the work of Leon reveals Leon too in the same moment, the targets finded, the final act is a question of hours.
Yeah, if Natalie Portman parents didn't tone down the script the movie would have been more dark and brutal for sure. There is a scene in the original script where Mathilda plays russian roulette with other kids and ends up killing one of the kids. A more dak ending than just giving money to one of the kids like happens in the scene before this one.
