Dr K talked about this. He mentioned that the main treatment of ADHD is the removal of stimulus basically, and resetting the bar for what the brain thinks is normal.

      How to do that?
How do I reset the bar?
I've lowered the bar somehow; i don't play games, watch movies or do any of the stimulating stuff, but I'm still watching TH-cam, and maybe that's why I'm not able to sit and study for my exams next week coz it's not fun at all.
How do I completely reset the bar?

2 Minute rule is key, if you want to become a runner. Make a habit that takes 2 minutes, putting on shoes and going outside for example. That small step is enough to keep the momentum going, the fact that creating momentum only took 2 minutes allows for brakes or less performance earlier because the momentum is easy to create again.

I’ve been on “self-improvement” for a few years now and I have felt pretty lonely throughout bc it’s rare to find people who care enough to adjust their lifestyle to fit what they actually want (eating healthily, exercising, improving mental health). It’s always just people fantasizing about it and never taking action. I love gratitude journaling, it gives me a small boost of pride; that today I have achieved something, whatever happens throughout the day this day is not a complete loss.
I love eating healthier, I’ve quitted all junk food, I never realized healthy food tastes so good until I ate it regularly. I always knew soda was bad for you but I never knew it tasted awful in comparison to a homemade cocktail.
I neither like nor dislike meditation, I like feeling more productive after doing it and checking another box from today’s objectives but I don’t necessarily like it.
I dislike working out but I like listening to the music playlist I have while working out, I like the pump after the workout but I dislike looking at my body, I’ve only started 25 days ago so I have 0 progress yet.
I resent reading books, it’s just that I don’t feel that I implement what I’m taught by books as well as what I implement from reading videos, I like watching a video about maths 10 times more than I like reading a book about it. I haven’t read that much books (about 3-4 not including uni), but I’ve gained nothing from these books, maybe there’s something I can learn that’ll help me implement lessons that I learn from books better, I’d like books if that happens.

Broo. You hit the nail on this one for me. Everything nowadays for me feels so numb. thing i used to enjoy like watching random youtube videos, working on my projects have become so boring for me. And now that i think about it, sometimes the highlight of my day is going to ph. Since new years tho, iv''e watched your videos and i've actually stoped all these dopamine actvites (smoking weed, watching ph videos, drinking). hopefully this will give me back my motivation and help my self improvment. thanks man. I really like your no bullshit vibe

this was what I needed to hear! I want to study Korean, eat healthier, read more, draw more, etc.
But instead I just watch TH-cam, eat junk food, watch movies, etc.
Because the unhealthy always feels better... at first. But it will turn out bad.
The healthy always feels uncomfortable... at first. But it always turns out amazing!
Thank u, Imma turn my pc off when I'm done with this vid. I need to take away my electronics from myself and make myself so bored that I would do all those things I actually have been wanting to do.

u just made me feel so much better. i literally thought i was weird for enjoying my jobs so much, going to the gym, reading and doing basic things like cleaning and cooking and listening to videos/ podcasts like this. so messed up how society is, honeslty kinda scary. instant gratification.. we are the most impatient species.
i feel like once you obtain this mindset, it’s so much harder to find real people with a grateful heart. everyone is just trying to impress society but it just gets you closer to the real ones ❤️

I started getting on self improvement around mid February, and was really on and off. Couldn’t stick with quitting bad habits and starting good things, only was working out 2-3 days a week, shit was mad inconsistent i’m ngl. I’m glad to say that this past week I’ve been on top of everything, from working out to sleeping on the right times, and just made this google account so I’m actually using TH-cam solely as a good use of my time. It can be hard to get on top of yourself, but once you get that momentum going you never want to stop. The feeling you get from looking back on a span of time and seeing it with pure pride compares to nothing. The strive for that feeling can be one of the strongest motivations you’ll ever have. I hope by sharing this, some of you who watch this in the future can come and relate to what I’m saying and work on yourselves. Recognize your problems and work to solve them, and make the best version of yourself that you can.

The part where you were talking about the education system made so much sense. I always hated to read in school, I would be absent on the days when you had to return the books and submit your summary so that they know you actually read it. Now I can easily read long research documents and books, because I'm genuinely interested in them and not being forced to do something that I hate. Most people resent themselves because consciously, they are slaving their way to death and they can't do sh*t about it. It's quite sad!

hamza, the last part where u talk about reading what is fun is so damn true. i think the reason i dread and resent reading right now and am inconsistent is because im forcing myself to read HTWFAIP every single day, even when currently im more curious about the magic of thinking big. i think i should give myself more autonomy while reading and read the things im curious about every day. thank you so much for this video. ❤❤😄

Hamza you reminded me of my 18 year old self when I had decided to go into the Marine corp I experienced a level of discipline from myself I’d hadn’t seen before!
They rejected me and I allowed myself to become depressed and on top of that the girl I was dating lost interest me, and instead of continuing my progress i failed myself and all my progress melted away. I went from have a great physique and practicing parkour everyday to becoming fat and injured.
I was going to massage school at that time and again I saw great progress for the first time in my life and once I let myself become depressed it all went down hill from there.
Anyway guys that momentum comes from getting to it everyday with every decision,
The power is your hands to create or destroy!
I hope all you create a good day
