I couldn't have said it better... I remember vividly hearing them for the first time more than twenty years ago and the way my body and soul reacted to the music. They've walked with me, everyday through life, ever since. I've loved them, I've adored them, I've been frustrated and angry and heartbroken and over the moon happy with them and they are literally woven into the path of my life and I am so grateful. I needed to hear this song today. Today marks 9 years that I lost my precious mother. I know this song was something that needed to be heard on this day at this time. I started listening to Nightwish when I was 14 years old. And now, 7 years later, this band was and remains my favorite. Tuomas’ songs shaped me both as a person and as an aspiring composer. My music project wouldn’t exist if Nightwish didn’t exist. The music of this band has always given me the feeling that someone is embracing me without touching me.

I know these guys are quite known worldwide, but they should be put in the top list of the best bands ever created, with the likes of Queen, Rush and others
I agree, but the best bands ever created are from the 60's. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Young Rascals, etc. Nightwish with Floor should be on that list.
Unfortunately they are not well known in the USA. It's rare I've met someone who knows who nightwish is. They are very well known in European countries because they haven't been influenced by what Americans calls music. This is what true talent looks and sounds like!

She always bring tears to my eyes when she started to sing. So touching, so emotional. The lyrics, the compositions. Nightwish at it's best. Almost 30 years and I still feel so deeply connected to their music.

After listen to the whole record I must say it´s one of the best work of Nightwish by far and the first where Floor can use her full potential.
Actually, I think she's being limited to using only her 30%.

Since Floor started singing with Nightwish, she has been challenged to sing in different ways, which has resulted in truly beautiful sounds. Singing is more than just belting, high notes and operatic singing like she used to sing. In Nightwish it is much more versatile. By the way, Floor has stated ones that she does not realy like to sing in an operatic manner. Moreover, Shudder before the beautiful was written with operatic singing, but Floor chose to sing it differently. ;-) And what do you think of her solo album? Is that her "full potential"?
I love how I'm always so calm going into a new Nightwish song. I know it's not gonna disappoint and I also know it's gonna open doors into layers upon layers of emotions and thoughts that will turn into my personal connection and interpretation of the songs meaning. I always learn more about myself when listening to Nightwish 💜 My strongest feelings after one round of this song: gratitude and connection.

anyone else catch the lyrical reference to Our Decades In the Sun? "I'm you who climbed off my back not long ago" vs "I climbed off your back not so long ago" I think it makes so much sense with the theming of both songs and it made me so emotional.

I think it’s going to be up there for sure. The only thing that’s potentially keeping me from jumping on the bandwagon of best album of the year is the mixing was just muddy in some songs at certain places. It just felt that Floors vocals didn’t show through as much as in previous albums. Still love them though.
Till now ELVELLON's new album followed by VOA are the best ones... Let's also see what XANDRIA, DELAIN and ASTRALIUM are doing. 😎
