My brothers and sisters in the Nightwish fanbase: isn’t it always like this? They always bring the strange and new out there stuff first: Harvest, Music, Perfume of the timeless, Elan…. And some pronounce them dead for metal, its not symphonic or its too symphonic, not enough Floor or too easy for Floor (even when she says otherwise), No Marco, too much pipes ….. Its the death of Nightwish…. Then they slap us in the face and back to attention with this song, or Tribal, or Shoemaker, or Storytime or TGSOE….. and on we go. They remain a genre on their own and when they delve into Symphonic Metal they are still its masters…. Its a great album. Congratulations to all of @nightwish

What a fantastic job Thuomas. This is the true spirit of symphonic Metal, typical of the early 2000s. This is one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard from Nightwish, due to the super dynamic instrumental and orchestration, the mix of various elements and variable sounds, with highs and lows. This is so... Nightwish! I'll describe this song in one word - complex, soaring, driving, haunting, heavy, grand, deep... Oh, who am I kidding, this is larger than any one word could describe. Every member of the band (orchestra, choir) expertly contributes to the whole. And it only gets better each time I hear it. Just sublime!

Same case with An Ocean of Strange Islands.
I loved it first time I heard it... now after about 12 listens I'm deeply madly in love with it. Best NW song in years.
I also found that they are not songs by the old nightwishes. But there is evolution, and I understand that this project is ambitious as well as great. I'm sorry but I don't like this song .. But that doesn't stop me from supporting my favorite musicians. Since 98😊
The best artists to me typically take more reflection to fully appreciate. From Moses Sumney to Radiohead to Low Roar, it just feels like their breaks from a lot of predictable, formulatic kind of songs, you know?
yes, every instrument reminds me of a different era of nightwish and it is like a tale.... A tale for us... For them...
Still processing the first listen... Even after 26+ years with NW, their new material can still make me feel like an ape who just found the Monolith...
An ocean of strange islands, a voyage through all of Nightwish eras. Can I love this song more?!
A voyage through all the uninspired eras he lost his muse.
I know my comment will not be seen but to be a part of this epic journey with the band for me is magical. Thank you for creating such deep lyrics that force you to think and feel. What a song!!!
The new orchestrations are phenomenal!!! Floor's voice exceptional us always.... The whole band nailed it!!! 🤘🤘🤘
An absolute banger 🙏😊👍❤️
Amazing ❤❤
Thank you Nightwish - the crew who explore the vast ocean of musical islands and share the treasures they find on their journey!
Thank you Nightwish!
Please one concert with an audiance that you record? No touring but just one real concert for us all??
I think in 2026. In an interview, Tuomas said that they will celebrate the band's 30th anniversary in a big way.
They said that they would be not be touring in support of the next studio album, but maybe even one show? its not a tour if its a only one show 😎
I concur!!!❤
@@Booolicius I think it's not an easy thing to do one show; the band will have to put together many things to make this show special, and do all the rehearsals and promo; this work can hardly be paid off by one show, but perhaps I'm wrong; in general I understand that they just probably want to live their lives; and it's good for them :)
I know we want to see them again but please, respect their desire to take a well earned break. They've all been through so much in the last 3 years and they've given us so much. I won't grudge them the break.
I'd love to have seen Empuu and Floor's faces when Thuomas rolled this one off the demo track ... "Yeah, cheers mate... Just the seventeen tempo and key changes then?"
From what I have readat least Foor seems to be very unhappy with that. But like the fans say: It is what it is, and Tuomas intended it, so it must be great.
@@flowq3874 I mean Floor's allowed to have her own tastes in music but a song with a lot of tempo and key changes isn't intrinsically bad, it just depends on what you're looking for. I like complexity and variety in music, myself. Being too samey is boring.
@@flowq3874 What's your source for that claim?
I can't imagine how Floor can remember the whole album lyrics 🤯

Perfection song! 😱😱😱
You just forgot that after all of this, almost every single person that complains is dancing Elan in the concerts 😂
@@dagonluke and when Perfume of the Timeless is eventually played live it will leave everyone in awe….
Thank you for the reminder! This is my first new Nightwish release since I only discovered them in 2019 or 2020. I've heard songs I loved immediately and those I've warmed up to which I eventually loved. I'm confident that will happen again.

Will have to enjoy it for what it is. If Tuomas performed this proper I would be with the orchestra also but they never have and never will do that unfortunately. As to anything live from NW, who knows.

This is absolutely breathtaking and the symbolisms of life's journey of his life with Nightwish and all our personal journeys hit me hard, especially today. ❤️
This sound is impeccable, with Floor's voice as beautiful as always and her sensational nuances and variations, which only she is capable of doing. Thank you for presenting us with another masterpiece. We'll reach a million views soon.

There are no words that can adequately express the emotional impact of this song...
The interpretations one can make are numerous...For me, we are all wayfarers of our own ship...buffeted and tossed on the sea that is life..The butterflies, in particular, are symbolic of transformation and renewal...bueaty that is short lived..Take the helm of your own ship...even when lost, your inner compass will always lead you home...

He always is. drummer of the highest order. There are of course better, Danny Carey for exeple, but in this genre, Kai is the MVP.
This song is a smasher. It's almost like Romanticide meets Poet and the Pendulum meets The Siren. 🎉 Some of the bass lines remind me of the grittiness in Endlessness too. Here for it

Another masterpiece from the genius that is Toumas and the sublime performances of Floor, Empou, Troy and Kai. Can't wait for the 20th!!! I love how Toumas weaves themes and emotions throughout all his compositions, blending rock and folk with classical.
Nightwish was my introduction to the metal genre all the way back with the album "Once". Dark Chest of Wonders blew me away all those years ago. This song made me feel exactly how I felt when I first heard Nightwish. I'm stunned.
Beautiful melody as Night Wish as we all use to know , it's have some fairytale feeling , scary feeling , adrenaline feeling , dramatic feeling , and goddess voices.
I'm just... what a powerful song. At 07:16 my life sounds gratefully different. I love everyone of you... And Floor, your voice is everything what this world needs.
I just can´t get enough of this song!! "You who glow in deepest woe, let it be, retiree, the water´s fine, sail carefree". OMG! what an invitation for those who are hurt by other relationships. That´s soooooo, soooo deep!!! Only Tuomas would be able to write sth inspiring like that rhyming. He´s such a genius.
You know, I have never dared to call a song my "favourite Nightwish song" because like: how can one choose? But this one right here just climbed that throne without any protest from me... this hits all the sweet spots of Floor Era Nightwish, and I love it to pieces! 🌊🤍🔥
Guys, really, am I the only one who cries in the end of this song every time I hear it? "Sail and seek" in the end just makes me chill.❤❤❤

Wow, I LOVE this song! Especially that bridge at 5:09. I wish that part was longer, I could listen to that forever. 🤩
What a strange song. It feels like songs structure follows a fractal, everything keeps changing yet it is always familiar.
There's no other band or songwriter that's able to delivery anything remotely close to what Nightwish does in terms of sonority and lyrics. Even in the "symphonic metal" niche, almost everything else is closer to "random noise" than to Nightwish. It's incredible to be part of something so marvelous.
