Mate you're brave as hell launching your drone out your car window by hand like that. It scares the heck outta me launching mine from my back porch. Even braver launching it in high winds like that first time I launched mine in a high wind it did a couple of full 360° flips before I could get it back down to the ground.
I enjoyed your test flights, Nobby. I am not inclined to try to replicate a flight like this with my Mini 3 Pro. But experience has shown me that it handles winds in the high 20 mph range very well. Take care and cheers from Wisconsin, U.S.A.
Brilliant Nobby, ye two incredible drones. Listen to this mate, i canceled my order for the classic cos it was taking to long to come plus i always fancied the mavic 3 cos of the zoom lens, and the other night i was brousing the drones on amazon and spotted a special offer 45% off the mavic 3 combo so i bought it, it came the next day, im over the moon. Oh and the day after that it went back up to the normal price. My stars must be alinged or something !! Cant wait to try it, gorra pass the test first and reg. it. Kev.
Good little comparison Nobby, tbf you’d expect the mavic 3 to be really good in the wind however hats off for the mini 3 pro it can never be perfectly still in the air but it still does a great job 👏🏻
Similar experience here with the Mavic 3 Classic. 47 mph gusts and 30 mph steady, it kicked the high wind warning a few times but never lost stability. Rather impressive.
Tested my Mini 3 PRO with the PLUS battery and used sports mode in quite some wind. "Over current" was reported and I throttled back of course. The strong wind warning, no RTH, usually just tells its windy. Manual control works as expected... Recently it was really difficult to land the Mavic 3 PRO on a 60 by 60 cm landing pad due to gusty wind. The more wind the worse are the gusts.
@@nobby-green I would not say it had difficulties but from the height of 1 meter it drifted some 1 foot in the wind direction during landing. Kicking it up, adjusting the position 1 foot outside the landing pad I got it there. A footage: th-cam.com/users/shortsWsHzd5lwtbw
I've got to admit, if I hadn't already bought the mavic 3 classic, I would have bought a mini 3 pro. It's done really well there. Not much difference to see on the recordings apart from the odd gimbal tilt. I'm impressed.
Hey Nobbygreen great video! Just received my M3Classic this week in the UK (also have mini 3 pro) - just wondering if your M3 Classic came with the C1 label? Sadly mine didn't and have reached out to DJI asking what does this mean if outside the UK and looking to fly in similar areas to the mini 3 pro 😕
They stopped putting them on for the UK unfortunately. It’s no big deal for me to be fair I have the A2cofc so I can fly within 50m. Having said that I usually fly in open countryside with the larger drones so makes no difference 👍
@@nobby-green cheers for your reply. I have my A2cofc also, which will help in the UK, but would be nice to have the C1 shown for when going overseas, such as on holls etc, otherwise could have just stuck with my Air 2s 😭
@@nobby-green Recent update from DJI is that when I am holiday outside the UK next month, to set up the M3 Classic and use the DJI app to request a C1 label - which they said would have to be sent to my holiday resort address! Only there a week so doubt it would reach in time 😕 They also advised not to fly it while on holiday until C1 label was received - so guess I will be taking my Mini 3 as well! 🙄
Most people who would get a wind warning at 10 meters would be scared to fly their expensive drones any further than 5 meters away from the home point but not Nobbygreen... lol Love it, man! I can honestly say I've not flown in winds that bad before but both drones did really good. That nose dive would've made me hit RTH pretty fast... haha I'm pretty sure if I was flying at that time, the drone would've crashed, eh? Cool stuff, buddy.. 👍
It was scary stuff when it took a dive but it recovered well. 😂 just had to test it as it has a great wind resistance 👍 shame the forward camera died. That would of shown how bad it was 😁
I noticed the Classic took 2+ mins to secure 24 sats while the mini took seconds, interesting. I would love to see some comparison with Sunset shots with these two. The classic spec looks amazing camera wise.
I own a Mini 3 Pro(used to have the original Mavic 3 ,but sold it due to regulations)...I'm now considering the Mavic 3 Classic and flying under Article 16 (I am a member of FPV UK)...I do miss my Mavic 3 and it's stability in the wind combined with great distance using the RC Pro I have. (Did an over 10km flight above the Irish sea last year) With Article 16 I can fly pretty much the same as having a CofC...or am I incorrect about this, maybe you could elaborate?. Regarding the courier (your prev video) usually the courier DJI use in the UK are very good...might have been a new or dodgy employee or something else, but in my dealings with DJI they have been excellent (I sent back my Mini 3 Pro after stripping two screws on the props-factory overtightening fault- DJI sorted it out ( No DJI refresh) under warranty and on top of that apologised by sending me another battery free of charge.
Ref the shipping issue I’ve never had any problems when I’ve sent my drones in for repair. They have always delivered promptly. They did use a different courier in this case and not UPS as normal. Who knows I got it eventually after they sent it again. Article 16 is a good choice. Very similar to the A2cofc. Although you can fly within 5m using a lower speed. You won’t go wrong in my opinion with the classic fantastic so far 👍
For $2k you think they would add a function to increase wind resistance and stability kinda like a car that has the traction button..increase the Gps and build the future Mavic. like the M30T pisses in the wind
Thanks
Thank you Mate 👍
I've had my Mini 3 Pro in wind conditions that others would not dare tackle. It's a beast in the wind 👍
They are pretty awesome up to a certain level 👍
The M3P nosedive was a touch scary but not too bad. Great test, impressive by both drones. Enjoyed watching it, thank you.
Yeah it caught me by surprise haha.. thanks for watching 👍

Great stuff. They are quite impressive Jon👍
Hi Nobby. Could you have used the option of filming on the drone you had in the car, just a bit to show how the flight was going?
Hi Dave. i had every intention of doing so, i had another camera facing forward, but no recording. My fault, not checking the battery in a rush. 👍

You do have to watch the strong winds. The Mavic don’t usually have difficulty in the winds. 👍

It’s a little fighter. But the classic out performs it with most things. Thanks 🙏
Did the mini 3 have the smaller battery or the larger one? I think it would do best with the heavier battery in the wind.
Hi Mike yes the standard battery.
