- This video shows whether the dji neo parallel tracking actually works. The neo is great for direction track, but can it handle from the side? Lets put it to the test.

@@mcgam2000 yes that often happens. However there is a trick to it which you can see in my latest video 👍
The problem was you never established direction as you waited too long in one place talking. Start moving and taking and it will follow you. Also i noticed you had the drone facing the sun. That never tracks well. Try tracking with the sun behind the drone. Good luck

Safety feature to avoid obstacles from the side?

@nobby-green It doesn't even have forward facing avoidance so I doubt it's to avoid side impact

Am sure a side vid on here side tracking could be mistaking thou mite ov been the 3 or 4 pro a seen just bought this same drone as a starter great for the price as it stands just need remote so I can get most out of it 😀

@@grk6607 you only get 50m flying with the phone. Not sure about goggles I don’t use them 👍

Hi Nobby. Love your videos but I have to say in this instance I disagree. I have only had my Neo a few days and only flown it once due to the weather and I got is doing side tracking no problem straight away. I think the trick is to launch it from the side (with your arm out at 90 degrees) and then it seems to recognise that it’s seeing you from the side. I’ve done a short video showing it does work on the following link. The video is unlisted as my channel is about motorbikes and not drones and this was just quickly edited on my phone, but I wonder if it might be worth you doing a bit of experimenting further to see if you can get it to work too? Please don't think I am trying to undermine you in anyway, but I am just a bit confused as to why it seems to work ok for me but not others. Very strange indeed!

Tested skiing. Follow it loses you at 20 km/h. Direction tracking not working at all. Very disappointed

Maybe if it's set to track from a greater distance?
I totally feel I wasted my $$$ on this one. Main reason was to have a small DJI drone I could fly inside and that is impossible it seems. Even with 10-14 satellites it will either land or just go bat-shXX crazy. Outside is not much better. tracks like a rubber band effect and acts like it has obstacle avoidance when it gets anywhere near me. Sorry I bought it! Come on #DJI... Fix this! Thanks for sharing! @@usadroneflyer they are not the best in low light and indoor flying. Tracking isn’t the best but for the money it’s not too bad in my opinion 👍
