How to Install a Brembo 19RCS (or Basically Any Front Brake Master Cylinder) in Great Detail

  • In this video, we'll walk through the process of removing the old front brake master cylinder from a motorcycle, then unboxing a Brembo 19RCS and replacing the old master with it. While this was installed on my 2012 Triumph Daytona 675R, the process should be pretty much the same for most motorcycles. We’ll also talk about why I decided to make this upgrade, and how to adjust the Ratio Control System (RCS).
    Drop a comment below if you've changed out your master cylinder, have thought about doing so, or if you just like motorcycles. 🙂
    If you enjoyed the video, please don't forget to like it and subscribe to my channel if you haven't already! I love working on, riding, and racing motorcycles, and post videos here regularly documenting my adventures doing such. Thanks for watching, and I hope to catch you in the next one! ✌️

    44teeth all the way! 👏🏻 Their channel (and this one) kept me going through covid lockdowns😃 RCS19 is another great mod that is worth doing on the 675r😌

      I love BvG and Fagan! Those dudes are the best and their talk show was hilarious 😂 Definitely a worthwhile upgrade! Had you added one to your Daytona?

      @@hiimchad yep, I did that mod on both the 675 & 675r actually...☺️ - used an adjustable “butterfly bolt” to re-use & mount the original brake fluid reservoir on the 2009 - the RCS19’s are bling additions and do give a definite improvement in feel & braking power (along with the right pads)😌

      @@d675ose7 Awesome! Massive improvement indeed! I tried pads first, then fluid, and now that I have all three I feel like everything is working well. 🙂

    Hi Chad, brilliant video of master cylinder replacement technique.
    You have a flare for instruction detail and would make a very good instructor of any subject that you tackle.
    Be aware of how much more braking power you will now have and go easy until you get used to the new master cylinder setup.

      Thank you Doug! I feel I always get a bit too far into the weeds with these, but grateful for your positive feedback. 🙂 I was very mindful the first time out with it and it still scared me the first few times I used it! A powerful tool indeed. I'll be posting a more detailed review of it later this week. I made some mention of it in the video before this one, but wanted to keep it light there as I think it deserves its own segment. Thank you as always for your support of me and the channel! 🙌

    I just invested in the HEL 19mm adjustable front master cylinder.
    My new sponsor carries them and I was able to get it for a really
    good discount. I haven't mounted it up yet but soon. Also got the
    HEL braided lines to go with it. The stock Brembo setup on my
    ZX10R is pretty good with some quality pads but I'm sure it'll be
    noticeably better after the upgrade. Hoping to see some more of
    your on track video.
    Thanks for sharing and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍🏁

    The Brembo is a nice unit, I have one on a Suzuki. The bleeder nipple is a great feature, not many bikes have that. Just a tip for racing, take the calipers apart and clean out the old fluid behind the pistons. Bleeding doesn't replace much of it, and brake fluid wears out pretty quickly. Good luck racing.

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is indeed! I appreciate the tip. I've been routinely flushing the fluid and cleaning the pistons between race weekends, and the brakes have great well so far!

    Hey I just got the 17 RCS corsa corta for my bike and this video is just what I wanted to see. Basically the same thing. The bike is reeeeally new, and there's no other bikes quite like it right now, so I'm kinda winging it. And talking to Brembo themselves is actually kinda difficult. Google will help you translate, fyi. They said 17mm for mine, which makes sense after hearing them out.
    The res and bracket, believe it or not, was my issue, and reason for finding the video. Good shit, sir!

    despite the intro, it only JUST clocked for me that your youtube user name is "Hi, I'm Chad" all lowercased. no spaces...instead of "HIM CHAD", all lowercased, no spaces. Always just figured you'd picked a YT name based on caveman english.

    • @hiimchad

      For what it’s worth, you’re not the first person to think that 😂🤣😂 No caveman English here, just lazy capitalization 🫠

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it's well worth the money! Once the fluid is up to temp, it's incredibly consistent. Definitely frightened myself the first time I went for the brakes hard though. 😅 I had a feeling for it after just a few sessions.

      Hi! I can't remember off the top of my head. Are you looking for torque for the bolts that holt the reservoir to the perch?

    Hi Chad,i want buy a brembo pr 19x18 for mi daytona,to use it on track and street.its ok the 19x18 or better 19x20 for track and street.Thanks :)

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Personally I would recommend the 19RCS over the 19x18 or 19x20. As I understand it, the ratio click system enables you to switch between 18 and 20 ratios, effectively giving you performance similar to either the 19x18 or 19x20, depending on the setting chosen. I use my 19RCS with the 18 setting, as the 20 setting causes the lever to require much more force to pull.
