I'm also a female that drives during drunk hours. I have also had several girls tell me they were so glad they got a woman driver, that they felt so much more comfortable and safe.
I had several sexists tell me that they were grateful because they got a man (according to them, “women cannot drive”) Should we have Men+ Connect now to make sexists “feel safe?”
trust me male drivers feel safer with male riders sometimes because of the psychological aspect of dealing with females that say rude things and make up lies to get male drivers in trouble goes both ways
Thank you that's sweet. And yes I can either be your best friend or your worse enemy. The choice is always yours. And if you don't like me at first, you will eventually end up loving me. I protect my friends like a momma bear, and destroy the ones that hurt them with my words. And enjoy it. 😊 I can hang out like I'm one of the guys and the ladies see me as someone who will keep them safe.
For 7 years ive driven around 9pm-2/4am and recently just stopped. After being assaulted AGAIN I told myself im done. My familu means more to me then a $6 ride! And have caught it allllllll on my dashcam.
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately bad things happen everyday. Things can always be worse. But I am so glad you are ok and made that choice for yourself. I've been through some pretty horrific things, and carry the battle wounds in my soul. And I will cut a bitch. 😂 fr
in one year of driving people I had to go court half a dozen times for witnessing fights, gave a stalker a ride, homeless guy jumped through my windshield, tiny drunk girl threw up the biggest pile of puke ive seen.. yeah I deliver groceries now..
@@brandyb6874 I forgot one.. also had a drunk hang onto my car aft I refused him, he kicked a fire hydrant, broke his foot, called the cops and said I 'ran him over'.. lucky for me he did it in front of a crowded bar so I had witnesses.. Some tools you might want to carry; Pepper spray, a tazer, and maybe one of those batons.. ..one of our uber girls was just on the news for being attacked by some drunk rich guy in the 'nice' part of town.. he was beating her head on a curb but she had a baton and was able to fight him off.. They also have 'guns' that shoot pepperballs.. but just remember whatever you have can also be taken and used against you. Also get good cameras inside and out. ones that upload to the cloud... good luck out there.
Back in 2018/19 in SF every day of the week near closing time at bars there were attractive surges and on weekends almost the whole city surged. I always have been a night owl and worked the grave shift for 35 years distributing free publications, and I loved driving without traffic. In SF there’s an ordinance that taxis must have either leather or vinyl seats for higiene purposes, so I installed leather on my seats made for convertibles or Jeeps and molded rubber mats that hold liquids, also I have both car garbage bags for the passengers in the back and large Ziplock bags like airplane barf bags. But I had an experience that changed my night driving preference. I picked up a passenger (around 10 PM) that didn’t sound drunk (I always asked “how are you doing” to check if their speech is slurred), a little later he threw up projectile vomit from the back seat diagonally from me. I never realized how much someone could throw up with so much force. It reach over me, the roof, filled the back of the seat in front of him magazine holder space, the floor mat, it was everywhere, even reach the air vents in the front! I stopped a block away at a convenience store to get additional cleaning supplies and he sat on the sidewalk extremely embarrassed, he figured he ate something that didn’t agree with him, and he called a friend to pick him up. I went home and spent hours cleaning as much as I could and next morning went to a professional cleaning service that especializes in such events, it took them two people two hours with steamers (normally takes one person and one hour). Without leather seats and molded mats I would have been in a major problem since the $150 that Uber paid went to the cleaning service. The nightmare is if the person due to reflex try to throw up through the window and the puke gets into the window well, I assume it would cost a pretty penny to open the door panel to clean the stink. Since then I stop at 11 PM. 👍🚙
Try driving newer cars. They have really bright led lights compared to old halogen lights. Halogen heat up too much and causes the lamp to get foggy and makes it hard to see at night. With LED lights on newer cars I can see much clearer.
Thank you Sergio for another great interview! Thanks to Brandi too for such a great job! Love your courage and dedication, I also believe that you have to love what you do. I am not a sexist, but I have had few female riders who prefer female drivers and I don’t know if they do it knowingly, but I get more females in my car than males and it feels awesome.
Geez…she could be my twin! We have SO much in common…I, too, have been sober for years (3 to be exact) and I also have a VERY hard time keeping my mouth shut. I adore working nights in Los Angeles…so many great characters get in my car, and I’m enthralled by most all of them. (They seem to kinda like me, too.) And I love having the streets all to myself. Have you ever seen Rodeo Drive at 4:00 am? It’s so quiet you can hear a pin drop…almost eerily quiet, with no cars or people or anything! Also, it’s a great way to collect ideas for a screenplay, which will be my next endeavor. I can come home around 8 or 9, have breakfast with my teenage boys, and crash out until they get home from school. Works out perfectly, for all concerned! Now, if only Lyft and Uber could stop all the idiocy with the massive amount of issues I’m developing with them…the world would be my oyster! Thanks for sharing your story, Brandy…I’m SO happy there’s other women out there on the road, who give us a good name.
Thank you and congratulations on your sobriety! I hope you are proud of yourself, I know we can be our toughest critics. I do feel spoiled being nearly the only 1 on the road in the wee hours of the morning. When traffic starts picking up is when I rush home. It's enough to have to worry about 🦌 on the road at night in not trying to have to worry about the crazy drivers in my city lol. Stay safe out there and thank you for being out there
I had drunk women put their feet on my groin, asking me how adventurous was I (implying they wanted to have sex with me), one actually jumped on me and started kissing me while I was driving, several invited me home (“are you coming?” … etc), one left her credit card and told me that if I bring to her home in the middle of the night, she would reward me with an “experience of my life”… Please, lets not make women sole victims of the sexual harassment…
I'm sorry that you've had those unpleasant experiences. I'm only speaking from my experience, and I do know that men have also been solicited, I also know that it can take a certain tone you can use toward the offender to get them to stop and even then some don't listen. Unfortunately for you it’s frowned upon to punch a woman in the face when she doesn't stop her behavior when asked. It's also not OK to say that I'm used to that behavior from men because it's happened so many times. I may be patient for only a short time now when dealing with inappropriate unwanted behavior before I punch someone in their face or use my words to make that person cry. I know it's not easy to figure out how to deal with that behavior when it first starts happening to you, the only advice I can think to give you about that is to make a list of rules you can play for all the riders about the boundaries you will respect and expect the same in return. I have Microsoft Word on my phone that will read what I have written over my car stereo via Bluetooth. Also you do have the option of pressing charges against these women. Good luck to you
I drove late night hours Thursday Friday and Saturday 8pm to 3am for 4 years. I live in a college town and near a very touristy city Scottsdale, AZ. I have had so much fun and made pretty good money until I got hit by a drunk driver in a pretty bad accident and totaled my car. Now, I'm afraid to drive at night anymore with no sick pay and no support from Lyft facing all kinds of financial hardships because of this.
@@18peavey Thank you. I'm physically much better but still afraid to drive and suffering financially. Lyft should really implement a driver assistance fund for extenuating circumstances dedicated drivers may face.
I am so sorry that happened to you. It's definitely understandable to be fearful. And not trying To freak you out more, but drunk drivers are out there any time of day or night. I've been in a few bad accidents all caused by other people. At times, I do get a little anxious, it helps to talk to someone about it. Good luck
I do occasionally, but I don't take it too seriously. Considering how easy it is to click on a negative review when you got in the ride in a pissy mood
Unfortunately they don't realize how those lies and low ratings can get us deactivated. Or they are malicious and do that shit on purpose, because they are miserable humans. Karma is a bitch
You have to know how to anticipate their needs. I'm not saying it's always going to be easy. But I've been a server for too many years. I know how to deal with assholes without help from a manager or bot😅
Absolutely original, nothing edited or cut , every word was absolutely mine, and if Sergio would've stopped talking so much 😂 you would've heard every word LOL. Only messing with you a little sergio I fucking love you man!❤

How do they know when a male picks them up? Ive never been asked my gender.

I like this lady. She seems kind and also tough.

I'm a female Uber driver who drives drunk hours. Ladies constantly tell me they cancel until they get a female driver.
That's awesome! Thank you for being out there when our ladies need us

I know a few lady teachers that did the drunk hours ... they love it lol
Yes we have to be, we've got balls of steal
Alcohol poisoning is no joke.. when a person vomits it becomes very serious because the body is rejecting the poison..

picking up drunks is not worth the extra few bucks.
So agree!!! Took me 7 years to realize this!
She is freaking awesome, I would tip her amazingly if I got her. I can see why she is doing very well.

In my area I don't see higher fares at night sadly .I am a female in San Antonio and so way better during the day 👍

None, hardly see any regulars 😮
Do you look at riders ratings on night shift? Thanks

I was thinking about trying stand-up comedy, but I’m afraid people might laugh at me on stage.
You definitely want them to laugh with you
