I'm going to make an argument: I think entirely vanilla cards should be disallowed from lists like these. It's pointless to make a list of the worst cards and it's all just cards that do nothing but give you stats. First of all it's boring to hear "this card is bad because the stats are low and it does nothing" over and over, and secondly, I think people just underestimate vanilla cards. They see a card that "does nothing" and go "that's useless" while potentially ignoring the stats it has for the cost. And if we're going to disallow vanilla cards, I DEFINITELY think you should disallow the vanilla cards from the starter set, because those are largely so people can learn how to play without having to study between four to eight different effects and how they influence the game. In particular, I think people are undervaluing Ramjet. 7 damage over and over again, and eventually you're gonna have to start trying to get through my 14 health, and every time you go after my Do Nothing Card (which is potentially busting up your bots with 7 attack btw), my other bots are setting up and getting free swings at you. Red Alert is very similar, but for cars. 5 attack is nothing to sneeze at when you only cost 6 points, which lets you build a 4-wide car team. Just flip Red Alert and send him in like a berserker assuming he'll take a few hits while doing some damage.
Ramjet is a beast. He regularly attacks for 10- 14 damage per turn and usually 1 hit kos characters. His high health guarantees he gets in at least 3 attacks.
I'd have to disagree with you on Ironhide being useless or a bad card. He has good defense, can benefit from truck cards, is dirt cheap and has a special upgrade that can up his attack from 3/4 to 6/7. I've been able to use him very effectively because of that.
Love these videos, I watch them every night at work. I don't always agree but you make a great case for everything you present. I'm going on my third booster box and still no Grimlock, Living Weapon, rare Insecticon or rare Optimus. In fact I believe the 6 characters I need are all rares now and the SR Bee. That's a little discouraging. I don't want to drop $300 for them on ebay but I also don't want to buy 5 more boxes. I think the rarity on the character cards might sway people away from the game.
I have a confession to make. A few minutes before this comment was typed, my father and I played a game of Transformers TCG. In that game, I played Deadlock (Bounty Hunter), Ramjet (Sky Smasher) And Sergeant Kup (Veteran Sergeant), while my father played a house ruled Scamper (City Patrol), Bumblebee (Courageous Scout) and Inferno (Fearless Firefighter) Who was said to be the number 5 best card. I won easily, only loosing Kup. I took out Scamper on the first turn with a hand healed blaster-ified Ramjet, while Deadlock and Kup took out Inferno, at Kup’s expense. In the end, I won easily. So maybe, MAYBE... Deadlock and Ramjet aren’t so bad?
Do. The game is fantastic. It's simple to play, yet has a lot of depth. It's fast to play (average game is about 15 minutes). Plus the subject matter is amazing.
There is one thing I didn't like in this vid. Why give someone else your trash. If you are going to be getting some in the game by giving them a deck please give them a deck that is not using the worst cards in the game respect your opponent. NO sense in being that mean
No CCG card games should be putting out cards with no abilities 'vanilla cards' in 2020. It's just lazy design. Makes for dull play. We learned this in the begining with MTG and Spellfire. The first two CCGs. Abilities maketh the game. Give it replay ability. More combinations, more fun. Ironhide was alot of peoples favourite Transformer an you have too handy cap yourself to run him out. That's just not right.
Sorry, but for the cost Slugg is awful. I know you love Dinobots, but you'd never actually play Slugg. His cost to return ratio is horrible. He's literally worse than Ramjat across-the-board while only costing one less star.
I find it amazing how much content you get out of a game thats way under a month old. And its good content

Fully agree
I think it's ok to have a "worst vanilla characters" list, but their "unexcitingness" should not be confused for "terribleness".
Also comparing Super rare cards to common cards is pretty pointless.
It's like talking about how tarmogoyf is so much better than grizzly bears. lol
Yeah, ramjet is my battler.

Been watching all your transformers tcg videos, very helpful understanding the skills each of them have and explaining how they work!
You actually gave me some good suggestions for me new deck. New to the game and trying to build my own deck!

i think he is more useful than kup

I saw this game in Target last night. Totally going to buy it my next paycheck....maybe

Matt Wishart thanks man
Hello, my name is Ross, and I was always told I had a voice for radio so today we’re going to
I wish Deadlock was better... and I hope when they make Drift they make him into a better card
Funny enough Kup was the first card I ever got...
I HAVE TWO sergeant Kip’s

It's also good way to make sure that that other person doesn't get into game after all.
erratic Lightning with red alert in bot mode, negats the penalty of -1 armour
It's idiotic that the Starter Set has essentially unusable characters.
None of the starter set characters are good. Even the Optimus and Bumblebee in it are awful when you compare them to their main set counterparts
I don't think Deadlock is that bad actually.
I have all of these.
