      I saw it (good video, btw) but I'm looking at this category & wondered if you had an update or a "suck-off" ( :D LOL) for the Beast shown in this vid & it's new brother the blue wall mount small vac (VWMB508 & how that one compares to this testing)? I'm in the market for a small vac for the smaller shop in my basement. Don't have the room for a full-size w/d vac, so I'm looking at these smaller units. thanks!

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, I already had the footage I needed (using the same number of passes as the others, with the camera mounted on the ground that is the footage used when comparison footage was needed) there is actually a bit of a time gap between the first set of passes and the second which is hard to see in the sped up top down gopro shot. but basically after I had the shot I needed for the scientific part, I gave it some extra passes to see how much better it could do. Mostly it was just for my own curiosity.

    You have to factor in price and warranty. With Ridgid being cheaper by $10 as of my comment, it beats the Vacmaster. Additionally, you get a lifetime warranty on Ridgid products, but not on the Vacmaster. Also, Home Depot sells the Ridgid 4070 with detailing attachments and hose extenders at this price. I would go with the Ridgid with those facts in mind.

    • @detailone978

      @camogirlkm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ryan Do you own a leaf blower? Use that trust me. If you don't own one you can get a cheap electric corded one for under $40 works great plus you can use it for blowing out garage or sidewalks, porches etc. I choose the corded bc I mainly use it to blow off vehicles after washing. You could go battery operated but depending on what you do with it you might need 2 batteries & well it costs more. Just a suggestion. Hope this helps. BTW I don't know if the Vacmaster blows but I can tell you that even if it did if wouldn't be as powerful as a leaf blower.

    • @camogirlkm
      @camogirlkm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ryan I just looked it up & the Vacmaster does in fact convert to a blower! Although from Amazon it's only available through 3rd parties right now at higher price than normal. So idk if I would order it right now. I'm definitely going to wait until their available from Vacmaster or Amazon & not 3rd parties. Maybe see if I can order direct from Vacmaster bc I definitely want this one. Not sure if Lowe's or Home Depot carry this brand.

    I just got a VacMaster Beast 5 gallon. Love everything about it except it leaks\spits water out around the seam where the motor clamps down to the base, when wet vacuuming . I'm not talking about the base container being 1\3 or 1\2 full when it does this, I mean when it has 2-2.5 qts of water. I called Vacmaster and they suggested I return it for another unit or refund, after they asked some obvious checks I had already tried.. I think I'll exchange it & try one more unit , but if it does the same then I'll go with the Rigid.

    I saw you posted this over on reddit as well, but thought I'd comment directly on this video. I have an older ridgid that I just love and its half the hp rating seen here. I'd be curious to try one of the newer ones, I'm impressed with even the suction on the ridgid that this can probably pull double duty as a light use carpet extractor for upholstery. I'd love to see a comparison with the larger 6hp ridgid (although in reality that's more like 1.5hp working power, since 6hp out of a 110v US outlet would draw something like 40 amps so these hp numbers are BS). Vacmaster also makes a dual stage motor version and that probably is even higher numbers. Thanks for posting this review!

    One other thing to consider is warranty....5 years for the Vacmaster, lifetime for the Ridgid.

    • @detailone978
      @detailone978 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ridgid is prefered by most detailers due to performance, durability and lifetime warranty!

    Great comparison video! Would any of these vacs be good for vacuuming patio furniture? If so, is there anything other than suction power I would have to account for? I’m in the market for a shop vac for weekly maintenance on my balcony and outdoor furniture.

    Thank You for all your excellent videos! There is one niche that you didn't covered yet - hobby shop vacuums, for which the most important factor is noise (and only noise...) I can not find any reliable comparison online... I cross my fingers that you could make such a video in the future, Thanks again!
