This is great. The Schlieffen had a great game. It was great to see how it was done "right". That was a very smart and workmanlike game with out any major drama. You don't have to be flashy to do well, keep that in mind. Remember, only Flambass can Flambass.
The penetration on the Japanese 100mm guns isn't entirely unrealistic. They were extremely high velocity rounds, since they were intended for anti-air. The rated life on the gun was only 400 rounds before needing new barrels.
Yes it is, because HE shells penetration isn’t based on velocity. Even then, Japanese 100mm shells weigh nothing. 13kg! They may travel faster than most other DD shells, but they’re so light they should, at best, have similar penetration to DDs with slightly larger guns. They definitely shouldn’t have greater penetration than almost every other add. Remember, Germans only got increased pen because their HE is garbage in all other respects. Japanese 100mm doesn’t have those drawbacks.
So in a projectile arc, at the top it starts to drop and fall, seeing that the secondaries are shot in an arc, in my mind they no longer have the extremely high velocity at the point of impact?
WG couldve given them a 1/5cal pen like a lot of people suggested on the forums, 27mm with IFHE was more than enough to deal with DD hulls (the main thing they had problems with before the buff) but WG decided to be pedantic and just code the old 1/4 cal pen into the shells

As a console player, an apt one, I can say that “BIG Schlepp” ain’t quite a brawler, but is a great line breaker. When the enemy is weak, you can strike hard and fast and snap the spine of a flank. Also, extremely good at kiting.
Schlieffen can brawl very well under conditions like: All 4 torp launchers and heals and repair are available; you are not in immediate danger of being focus fired; the opponents main batteries are pointing the other way; you have like 50% or above health, and the opponent BB is also at least down to let's say 75% health; you have fire support; you have a top tier captain; you have the right build. Not all, but most of these conditions should apply. Sometimes you can get inbetween two enemies and sink both, given they are heavily damaged and cannot point all guns towards you.

Yeah, no. That can work with tank or rifle scale shells, but by the time you get to warship scale, the extra mass you get is so much more impactful.
