Besan ka Chilla: Healthy Cooking with Dad & Lad | Dr Nene ft. Arin Nene & Ryan Nene

- Besan ka Chilla has ruled the hearts of Maharashtrians for a long time, and why wouldn’t it?
It’s quick and easy, very tasty and healthy too! This protein-rich and fiber-rich delicacy uses is great
for losing weight and has healthy unsaturated fats that can help lower cholesterol levels.
The minimal ingredients, convenience, and nutritional value make it ideal for college-going youngsters - so I taught Arin how to whip it up, quick!
Ingredients:
1 cup of Gram Flour
2 tsp chopped Coriander Leaves
¼ tsp Ajwain
Salt as per taste
¼ tsp Haldi
¼ tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Oil
¼ tsp Asafoetida(Hing)
Half an Onion
Half a Carrot
Half a Tomato
Chilles (optional)
Instruction:
Step 1: Roughly chop the vegetables.
Step 2: Add them into a chutney mixer and grind it till you get a paste-like consistency.
Step 3: Add 1 cup of gram flour(chickpea flour) to a regular bowl.
Step 4: Add the vegetable paste to the bowl.
Step 5: Add ¼ tsp hing, ¼ tsp cumin seeds, ¼ tsp haldi, ¼ tsp ajwain, 2tsp chopped coriander, and salt as per taste.
Step6: Add water and stir the batter with a whisk till you get a liquid consistency
Step 7: Preheat the pan with 1 tsp oil.
Step 8: Once the pan is hot enough, spread around the batter on the pan and pack it with a lid.
Step 9: Flip the chilla after a minute and let it cook for another 60 seconds.

We taught him egg Bhurji, koshimbir, 😮batata bhaji, He can now cook some basic things for himself. You did more than just show a healthy recipe. A surgeon showing the importance of home cooked food for health, a surgeon showing that it is the most normal thing to cook, and then teaching your sons how to cook ....in our still largely patriarchal India, this is a huge contribution in more ways than one.

I am South Indian living in US we use jyothi or preethi mixer grinder for all our dry , wet masala grinding the jar size is good it comes in US compatible model too in India also you get , most of us South Indian use in for all our chutnies and masala they are ideal for our Indian cooking reasonably priced too. I liked how dr nene is using marathi words , sons are well mannered too

Great doctor , an awesome human being , love for his sons as they are going to a new foreign land for further studies, so their dad is worried and sharing and engaging with them healthy Indian food passed down from generations to his sons and viewers , so that his sons will eat healthy home food when they can, and less take away.
He Dr.Nene can easily be selfish and use his spare time to chill and do stuff for himself but he is sacrificing to engage his sons towards eating healthy , shows what loving and father and and awesome doctor . Madhuri Dikshit his wife and actress is a lovely human being and a kind soul they make a lovely couple . On tawa ,you can user silicon brush used for baking trays to grease . or traditional way is to. Take small piece of potato or onion disc held off on fork , it spreads evenly

You can make it with moon dhal soaked ( preferably sprouted to increase the nutritive value ) and ground into fine paste .

Happy Fathers day, i am going to make this besan ka chila for breakfast and dinner, it is so important to teach your kids to cook, my dad used to cook for us kids, when my mom was not well or went to visit her maika, he cooked amazing vege omelette and chane ki dal or meat pilaf, and now my kids cook for me some times.
