That's because of the father primarily. Not saying Madhuri is not instrumental in their development but Sridevi married Boney and we have a Jhanvi and Hema married Dharmendra and we have Isha. Same is true for Abhishek, Aryan and Sonam. They all have a superstar parent(s) and mostly ordinary people(read socialite, media related) as the other parent. Here these kids have a highly educated father. Madhuri herself was always so down to earth. It helps in having intelligent kids.

@@smt.p.b.7611 Madhuri is very lucky too. Not all heroines have such good luck in both career and personal life. She also had relationships with heroes but she was lucky enough to end up with a sober, well educated and charming man. One thing for sure she had the courage to give up glamour for home and hearth and that not many people are capable of. She sure is very grounded that way. No wonder her kids dress normally and talk sensibly with no history of drugs and other rubbish.
Actually this is the real power couple of bollywood. 👏👏👏

*While I respect your perspective, I disagree.* Parents should provide their children with a balance of freedom and guidance. Monitoring their progress and ensuring they have the right goals is crucial, especially since many Indian parents already do this. Giving absolute freedom can be likened to asking a monkey to fly a plane. As humans, we lack inherited memory, and during our teenage years, we may not fully comprehend the consequences of our actions. Therefore, it's wise to consider our parents' insights, as they have already navigated through this stage of life."

Good talk. My son is a senior and the best thing I did is to leave him to blossom into whatever he wishes to do. Never discussed course work, how many APs he is taking, how is he structuring his 9th-12th grade/courses and he did it all be himself. What I did keep telling him is that it is his journey and I am here to support and encourage him. I actually happened to look at this report cards only in 11th grade because we trusted him and his judgement. Well, that worked for me and my son, but I can’t say that will work for all.
The thing parents can do to help their kids is NOT to rub their anxieties onto them, allow them to deal with their ups/downs and not tell them what you want to see of them. Kids go through a lot of issues - puberty, relationships at school, trying to understand themselves and finding an identity for themselves, social media and other social things that we don’t even know of. Add to that anxieties and depression with course work, identity crisis and much more. The best and wise thing to do as a parent is not add to these issues and feed them well, tell them to always give their best in any assignment/course they take and to do their best and whatever happens be supportive of them and very importantly be there for them. Be that sponge to absorb some of their issues and listen to them, talk to them, reassure them that the world won’t end if you get a B grade and your success is not defined by what you did or didn’t at age 18/22. You will know when your kid is happy and a lot of that depends on parents.
Wishing all parents and seniors the very best with colleges.
I like what my son says, ‘I go to school to learn and I don’t care which college I go to because most colleges give you a good education’. Reputation comes second and as to writing your personal statement or supplementals, he always says big schools look for PQ (personal qualities) besides grades and extra curricular that a kid has done. That is make/break in big schools and some of his close friends were rejected/deferred from Stanford because they don’t have it but they were over achievers at school. Another thing my son told me about Stanford was that your resume should be such that the school wants you vs you wanting the school. That is a huge shift in the mindset for a child and how a school looks at college applicants. Big schools look for kids with unique and wanting PQs vs just overachiever.
Cheers and hope this helped. Be there for your child. Your responsibilities don’t end after you give birth to them. Be there for them and they will know if you are genuinely there for them or just showing you care. 😊

What an intellectual conversation and family? We don't see this much today. I grew up with struggling parents and I worked 3 part time jobs, studied full time to become a Podiatrist and it was all worth it.
Knowledge is power and the knowledge we impart is invaluable.
    What amazing parents. 👏

Ryan spoke of AI and Data Science in such a way that I, a Master's student in a reputed US university couldn't have explained better. Heck, I'm learning from him how to articulate AI in such a way that everybody can understand!
He's a thinker, and I'm so glad this video exists. Kudos to wonderful parenting.

Thank you for this conversation, Dr. Nene! As a professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, I see students struggle all the time with the pressures of college life. The culture here tells students that the major is the "end all, be all," that you're only successful if you major in X, Y, or Z. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear you and Madhuri support your sons' interests in both the arts and sciences. ❤❤❤

Loved the conversation. I just saw a video on TH-cam about why the Indians are among the wealthiest/most successful immigrant group in the US. One of the reasons was because students choose career paths that have the jobs that make the most money. One of my daughters is aiming for med school. The other one likes to cook, sing, her friends, makes amazing videos..... and when I hear your boy wonders (🥰) I tend to freak out a little wondering if I should have been as strict as the indian parents raised in India. ( I grew up here) The specter of What If hovering over me. I appreciate Madhuri's perspective to chill out and support your kids. I love that. I can not *stress* the effect parents' opinions of their kids has on their self esteem. Thanks for sharing guys. 🙏🏼💕
