Wow that’s how my husband cooks pohe for us, twice a week especially on weekends we get to eat my husbands famous pohe, he adds cabbage, peas, carrots and whole lot goes in. Just a correction : the idea of adding in lemon while the stove is on is an absolute no no. Lemon should not be cooked. Add it after the dish has been taken off the stove
Add groundnuts to the "phodni" itself for it to be really toasty in crunchy. Maharashtrians don't add udad dal to Pohe. Adding freshly scraped coconut along with corriander gives pohe a heavenly taste..
Hey Dr Nene we all love pohe but are trying to cut down on carbs so eat it less often than in our younger days. We also add a lot of peas, green bell peppers and finely cut French beans to increase the fiber content and feel less guilty about it. We sometimes have it as dinner on Friday night.Want to know your thoughts on how bad would be the rice flakes/poha one or two times a week? ( Oh and we do use a lot of green chillies be cause we love the heat unlike Mrs Nene)

Wow that’s how my husband cooks pohe for us, twice a week especially on weekends we get to eat my husbands famous pohe, he adds cabbage, peas, carrots and whole lot goes in. We aren’t even allowed to be anywhere near the kitchen. There is something extremely attractive about men who can cook. Dr Nene and Madhuri seems to be just made for each other. God bless you both

Just a correction : the idea of adding in lemon while the stove is on is an absolute no no. Lemon should not be cooked. Add it after the dish has been taken off the stove

Add groundnuts to the "phodni" itself for it to be really toasty in crunchy. Maharashtrians don't add udad dal to Pohe. Adding freshly scraped coconut along with corriander gives pohe a heavenly taste..

Hey Dr Nene we all love pohe but are trying to cut down on carbs so eat it less often than in our younger days. We also add a lot of peas, green bell peppers and finely cut French beans to increase the fiber content and feel less guilty about it. We sometimes have it as dinner on Friday night.Want to know your thoughts on how bad would be the rice flakes/poha one or two times a week? ( Oh and we do use a lot of green chillies be cause we love the heat unlike Mrs Nene)
