RS660 I bought recently. Crazy little machine. I use it for my daily commute.
Street Triple R is the one. I've owned about 10 street bikes and the STR is by far and away the best bike of the lot. Commute- no problem,. 2500 mile trip- no problem. Track- not a problem at all. Mid-corner- dreamy. Brakes, suspension, chassis, engine- I haven't touched a thing on mine and it just keeps on delivering smiles.
Bought the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory this summer and it’s been great. I considered the RS660 but wanted a slightly more upright bike. None of the top three appeal to me when it comes to looks and 100 hp is plenty for the road.
I'd say the Yamaha MT09 SP is the choice. The price bump up from the standard MT09 is definitely worth it for the upgraded suspension alone. It's my favourite naked bike outside of the Ducati Streetfighter V4.
I'd argue otherwise, for the money, the suspension doesn't match the one offered by the Street Triple RS which matches it in price. You also get cruise control and an actual power bump with the RS.
@@kamsa1243 You get cruise control with the MT09 SP. Also the suspension isn't the only upgrade from the base MT09. Yes the Street Triple RS is nice, but I'll personally NEVER own another Triumph since they discontinued the Daytona. Unless I can find a Daytona 675R that isn't total junk by now because of poor upkeep.
I know you also get cruise control with the SP, thats why I listed it for the RS. I don't think you get anything different as an upgrade from the base MT09 than what we listed, and the upgraded suspension is nevertheless not as good as the RS, but its at the same price, which is ridiculous considering how refined the Triumphs are and how much more you get.
As far as the Daytona goes, I mean they do still make them, they're just limited in production because not many buy them.@@Frank_Torre
@@kamsa1243 In my country the MT09 SP is only 7% more expensive than the regular MT09 so its a no brainer. But the Triumphs are way more expensive, the Street Triple R is same price as the MT09 SP while the RS is a good 20% more expensive
@@nhancao4790 That sounds ridiculous, where are you from if I may ask?
Honda CB650R ❤
I made 3rd lol that’s decent I suppose. I was really wanting that in-line 4. Good job on branching out to different types of motorcycles on this channel.
I picked correctly. Love my 2024 Street Triple 765R, in white even!
The Triumph is a bargain, Brembo's, quick shifter, IMU and 118hp for $10,000 USD.
U get all that and more and the aprilias
@@brendancontarino3941 not the hp.
I have mt09 sp 2023 and | love it :) just perfect torque power for the road, you don't have to be scared to proper open up the throttle and the riding position is perfect IMO..
The Speed Triple is a dream to ride. I rode the 1200 RS. Because I know the Triumph menus, I put in RS mode before leaving the lot.
Nice work on this vid Bob. i do this power to weight conversion for most new models to see where they sit. No need to add rider weight as i am not average 😁 and would be the same on any bike.
So great to see the Z900 up there .. love the Kawa. I slow you down to .75 speed Bob because of the manic delivery
The new street triple is just amazing
yeah. just has that weird 'fly head'. but I like the bike itself.
@@TE99810 that grows on you
no words for her
Just rode it. Still smiling. I hit the corners hard and I’m the limitation. I rode the RS version. I also took the 1200 RS. Both winners
@@Mytwistedvoices i found the 765 more for the street
Lots of great bikes on this list, but for me it would be between the mt-09 or the z900. I think the kawa would edge it out because I don't like the headlight of the 2023 MT-09. I love the sound of a triple, but I also like the.. well, almost novelty of a inline 4 street fighter. Most are twins or triples. The z900 looks has grown on me, I remember getting into bikes and only liking the retro looking bikes because I thought the hyper modern style looked a bit ridiculous. But the MT-09 headlight really bothers me, it looks like it belongs on a 125cc bike. I think the MT-10 or older gen mt-09 looks way, way better.
I love the tuono 660😮💨
Nice video, bought tuono 660 last year, good bike but not special, just a light. bike that makes it easier to go through the city, that's why you get tired of this so quickly
that's why i exchanged it for mt09, what an amazing bike!! light, easy to drive, fast, nice triple sound.... Akrapovic exhaust mounted, on Dynojet test bench, tuned.... not normal, fun fun fun
Great overview of the bikes, but I'd recommend using hp per tonne as an easier to digest rating...
it's not speed you are rating them by. It's power to weight to ratio, which doesn't necessarily give you the fastest bike.
Agreed.
An example could be the F900R with a 85 kg rider vs a FJR 1300 with a 110 kg rider.
While the power-to-weight ratios are almost the same I wouldn’t give the F900R much of a chance past 70 mph.
Its also not taking into account torque, which both the MT-09 and Z900 breeze past the Triumph of the line because of it
Fun video, thanks! Not sure what the point of adding the rider weight to the equation was since it's the same across all your calculations? It doesn't actually make the ratio more useful, it just makes final numbers smaller.
Does the XSR900 fit somewhere in the group or is that bike to expensive?
Love the Street Triple RS. But none are available here. So I’m going for a used, 2022 Speed Triple for a similar price and a LOT more speed.
You’re going to love it.
Yamaha MT09sp FTW!
I'd guessed wrong with the Z900. Nice one Triumph 👍
There's a guy in my ride group with a Z900 and side by side with my mt09 the Z900 really lacks on acceleration both standing start and roll on. It's got the top end speed. It just takes a bit longer to get there.
@@MrBCRC torque over bhp! Triple for road inline 4 for track? Love both configurations.
Man, I’m not sure the 765 gets enough credit. I have one and I’m telling you,the thing has corrupted me in that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to own a practical bike ever again!
Either triumph 765 or Z900 for me. I like the MT-09. But I dont think it could hang with the Triumph in the twisties and I dont think it looks as good as the Z900.
Street triple wins it for me best looking and built well ...love um
Top 2 both are triples. Maybe triples make the best power to weight ratio? If you want more power you’d have to go for a 4-cyl and thus heavier bike and may still get worse power to weight ratio due to weight increase?
You should do this with torque
Great content. Just wish youd acknowledge some comments
Tuono for me
Does anyone have a guess where the xsr700 would line up on this list?
Just look up the figures and do the math
100% the MT09 !
I love the mt o9 and xsr spec sheet but looks wise they lose to some much better looking bikes on this list.
0:30 I believe you just called me "fat" 😁
Or he just called himself a midget
@@williamcat3159 genius :)
Why did the United States not get the Honda CB 750 I don’t understand I would’ve bought one. Even tho they could have made it look better by simply putting that engine in the 2022 cb 500f chassis
Triumph all day long 😊
💚 in-line 4
Z900 and MT-09 would flatten all of those bikes
Shame the new ZX-6R is £500 over budget, it would have shared top spot with the Triumph
love the Tuono 660 look, but at 6'2" it might be a bit small?
want to testride one though ...
street triple = fire though !!
The street is still a small bike. For tall people I think the KTM offers the best ergo.
Are you new or experienced? If you're new, I'd say a cb500x, v strom 650, or an mt07 if you want something more sporty. If you're experienced, I'd say a ninja1000, gsxs 1000gt as a sport tourer.
@@county_bear9509 my first bike was a ninja1000 ;)
second indian FTR R Carbon (which i sadly sold to be able to take my gf on rides)
now i own a versys1000
but i want something a bit more sporty again but the tuono 1100 is insane :D
@@abymathew295 yes the triple is small too but i love how it looks ...
i don't like the look of KTM's.
got a versys 1000 now
@@Tigerric3 . Test them both. I also don't like the design language of KTMs, but I think their DUKE series are quite good looking.
Hands down aprilia rs660 is best bike out of all of these. Ive ridden them all except for the bmw and own the rs660 and wouldnt have it any other way
XSR900!
What about the KTM 690 or Husqvarna 701 SM
There old bikes now
And out off all these bikes I would chose the Honda hornet
UK : 178.2cm and 85.4kg not so tubby now
US : 69" (5'9") and 199.8#
yea yeah 11# aint much ...
z900 for me
Mt09 all the way. Best for the road coming from a 765
For me, the bmw or ktm and , happy days. 😂
The way you talk about the bmw its just unbelievable (thats hate i suppose) its the most technological bike, it has superb stability and handling, the engine its bullet prove ( back from the gs750) and with a good rider its probably beats everything in this list from 0-120 kms 👍, its not the fastest for sure topping at around 230kms, but its the prettiest by far. Turn traction control off and put it in dynamic pro with all settings in max, and call it flat again 😂✌️
All these bikes are over 12,5k € in my country :(
Netherlands?
I'll take the Triumph if they get rid of that nasty headlamp assembly
13 stone and change is tubby 😮 Cheers Mate ! 🙄 🙈🤣
Time for a drag race and roll on test. Would be nice to see if the maths equals real life
I have a z900 and there is a triumph 765 in my area. We have lined up at red lights and met on long straights. Off the line the triumph is a bit quicker but once speeds get above 100 mph the Z900 starts to be the quicker of the two.
Personally the best one would definetly be the 890 duke...but wait...it s not on the list!!?
Under 10k?
Do you even ride motobob?
I have a BMW S1000R, and if I'm honest I must say I don't need 160+ HP on the street. Several of the motorcycles on your list would easily meet my needs. Aesthetics is not my strong suit, but I would see there is a lot of ugly on this list. I wish Honda would buy Aprilia and improve its reliability.
Apriliaaaa
MT-09
Why was not the Honda CB650R not in this show??????
It would be behind the CB750 Hornet as its 20Kg heaver - 0.325bhp/Kg
Yo Bob, any chance you could add the conversions front kg to lbs in a pop up text so I don't have to figure it out. It would be 100% helpful. ! Thanks a bunch!
Tubby at 84kg🤣🤣 13st🤣. My legs combined are about that🤣.
20% bike 80% rider
I'll smoke em with honda lead 108cc if there was race on roundabout on roundabout. Lol
I would never ever by an Aprilia I’ve heard nothing but horror stories
All pointless, speed limit is 70mph and cameras everywhere. UK has more speed cameras than entire USA.
my 2014 speed triple 😂😂😂😂
I wish the Hornet had even just a modicum of style, because it has such a great engine. What a waste.
Where made is not important. QC is
Funny how how you pronounce duke "jook"
Or buy second hand 🤑
Aprilia all the way.
The Wheight is so wrong 😂 our nee Triumph Street Triple 2023 are 188kg .. not 274kg you crazy 😂
Ktm in rest of the world comes with 105 hp, (77kw) 😅
Where is Suzuki GSX-S lineup??? This bikes are for road. Character picks character. Performance isnt of importance for road use. 600 cc plus they are all quick back dating 20 years ago.
85 =tubby? Are you joking or are you challenged in height?
MT09 should have won.
❤❤❤
0:30 Oi. Who you callin' 'Tubby', sunshine?
Bloody cheek. UNSUBBED!!
😉
👍👍👍👍
Ktm build in china
Any bike under 100 mph seems to be too weak. Even a crappy dodge minivan can go faster
What an excellent title. Has really big "let's get young naive male riders to kill themselves" energy.
Cry at malaysia
Wow. My takeaway from this is how much LESS I weigh than the average person, male or female. Sheez. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
Use $ bro. And what the L is a "KG"
