Wow, Ryan, nothing scares you!!! Nice job on repairing your sail panel. I’ve had a 2013 Evora NA for a couple of years now and only just bought an Evora 400 (been to the track once so far). I’ve not had any issues sail panel issues with the 2013, but with the 400 there is some binding when I open the hatch when it’s cold (when it’s warm it’s fine. Weird?). Your video has encouraged me to try adjusting the sail panel to move it forward ever so slightly, which might move it out of the way the glass hatch. Thanks for the idea, and thanks for the, as always, great video!

Yes! I'm annoyed at myself for not adjusting the sail panel earlier! Might have avoided a crack in it if I was more diligent.

I just did exactly this since my 400 had some rubbing when opening the hatch. Adjusted it as far as I could, which wasn't much, so we'll see if it lasts. One difference with the video and the reality on the 400 is the the rear bolt on the driver's side is kind of a bitch to get to because there is some sort of cannister in the way. I had to use a box wrench instead of a ratchet and could only get a quarter of a turn per cycle so it tried my patience, but I eventually got it loose and then was able to tighten it after pushing the sail panel as far forward as possible.

Great video! I have the sail panel sitting in my garage for few months, because I never check the installation process… who knew it’s a 10 minutes job 😂 BTW I’ve got a brand new from Bell & Colvill for about $200 shipped

@@GoodmorningGoodnight you just got me going to the garage to replace the panel ha ha. I took the old one off, and I’ll put the new one back tonight after I’ll bring from my shop 5 alloy bolts to replace the “heavy” ones. There’s at least 10 grams savings ha ha.

I've did a coolant flush on a Porsche boxster and we struggled to remove a vacuum bubble from the lines. So I'm hesitant to go ahead and do it on the Evora. It's on my list to learn, but very low on my list. Let me know if you have any secrets to make it easier.

@@GoodmorningGoodnight I struggled with this mightily with my BMW. I gave up and had a shop do it, but next step was going to be getting a vacuum bleeder. I wonder if that would work on an Evora. I might try it (and try my hand at making a video).

Great response. What are they smoking? If that’s from Lotus? - that is not helping in the slighest for manufactured used part hose job. So much for hobbyist like you that turns them into folklore by promoting the cars. I get it one cannot make every common piece to sellm but so does hundreds of 1000’s of other car parts who only makes $10 profit

Many thanks. These older Evoras are mostly stout, but need a little bit of help in some small places. Happy with my ownership experience so far.

@@GoodmorningGoodnight Evora , Europa and Exige are all to be had just in that 25k bracket ,,, one of them will be my next car as Im not buying into the 911 thing , the only alternative is a Vantage ,,, ah . they all seem to have some serious drawbacks , never ever thought I would look at a Lotus because of its reliability ,,,, funny old world.

The carbon fiber ones go for close to a grand. Yup. I'm not spending that coin on it unless it drops half a second from the 0-60 time. Lol
