For reference for other Evora owners who landed on this video . . . I bought this at AutoZone a year ago and it was basically the same as stock OEM.
Dorman Air Intake Pre-Heater Hose 96034
    Part Number: 96034
    Alternative Part Number: P200-18
    1 Unit Price: $2.99
It's probably important to fix this hose if it has a hole because water that enters the hose from the top of the vent may leak through the hole and end up in places it was not designed to go . . . like, maybe the starter area that is below where the hose typically flakes and cracks. Cheap fix to avoid a bigger issue? It may be more than just an aesthetic issue.

Just did this myself and used the Dorman hose. Identical to the OEM piece.

Nice - that's a good alternative. My only concern is, if it's identical, it may flake after a few years as well. But it's an easy enough change do it if you have to change it again. Makes the engine bay look so much better.

Thanks for sharing! I just got an evora, thankfully my hasn’t peeled yet but I suspect the prior owner replaced it

Mine looked perfect about 6 months ago. I suspect they can go from looking very well to flaking fairly fast. That being said. It's a fairly cheap fix! Enjoy.

Thank you for all your informative videos! They have been a great help. I was wondering if you know what the padding right in front of this pipe is called ? The black padding that goes around the rear windscreen

Good question. I'm not sure of the official name of it. I assume it's fire resistant and noise suppression for the firewall. Maybe someone else will see your comment with a better answer! Are you having an issue with it?

I don’t know if the wrap will help. It will contain the heat. Possibly heating the FLEX PIPE to a higher temp given that it will no longer have external cooling. IMHO.

Yeah. I think you're right. The wrap is mostly aesthetic. And it will help with the flakes in the engine bay. But if I did it again I'd probably do a high temp flex pipe

I did the repair today, I changed the pipe and I added the thermal tape. All good until I drop a 13 tool key into the engine bay😭

Ah yes... The additional challenge of the mid engine car. Lol

No spare tire or jack, what's up with that? No towing service or loaner car either ?!?!?!? Is the titanium exhaust necessary to enhance the sound?

    • @GoodmorningGoodnight
      @GoodmorningGoodnight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

These cars are very minimal. So no spare tire and no jack. I keep my membership to AAA in case of an emergency. As far as the exhaust goes. Mine is not a titanium exhaust. It's actually just a stainless steel exhaust. So definitely the ti exhaust is not needed for the sound. These cars come from the factory with three catalytic converters. One on each bank of three cylinders. And a third one after the two headers come together. The third one is not necessary to pass emissions in any state except California. So almost everybody has that third cat deleted. And by opening that up it really enhances the sound.

Where can I get these cars worked on at?

Either the lotus dealership ( there's not too many of them) or at a specialty shop that focuses on euro or exotic cars.

Ah that makes sense. Same engine in the Exige. Fairly easy fix though.
