I love that Venomoth is the Pokemon with the most random viability, being top tier in Gen 1 NU and Gen 3 PU, and being banned from Gen 5-7 RU while being viable in Gen 7 UU as well, sadly, Gen 9 power creep did knock it down to ZU, and I don't know how it is down there.
I love Gen 2 and I've been casually looking into the competitive meta, and this video is an excellent primer! Not only that but the editing and info quality is awesome. Thank you very much, super stoked for part 2!

funnily enough, it fell to SU (an unofficial tier below ZU) and ended up being banned from SU alongside the psychic type oricorio and veluza
It fell because of the sleep ban. It couldn't set up reliably anymore without it.
@@RazorIvy470 Hmm, maybe if Sleep wasn't unbanned it could be decent in PU/NU.
@@gusteen3292 The oricorios did more to harm the viability of Venomoth (or really any Quiver Dance Bug) than the sleep ban ever did.
Venomoth was top tier in gen 2 pu, not gen 3
