I would argue that that statement, while not enough on its own, leans towards showing that Ariados is not a horse, as, not knowing just what it is, all we can say is that it is not a pony with only one trick, which overall reduces its chances of being a pony generally
Same can be said for Abomasnow, which although not immune to Kyogre's attacks the same way Shedinja is, it still resists the water STAB and thunder while being neutral to ice beam and replacing the rain with hail
It's actually not amazing vs Darkrai, Darkrai can't sleep it but it's still going to knock it out. Problem is, that's better than most other pokemon can do, and Deoxys-Speed is incredibly common so it's got that at least. It's a suicide lead Toxic Spiker at the end of the day, not much more than that. Having a niche in Ubers is impressive no matter how you look at it, don't get me wrong though.
@@natnew32 And that's precisely why players ran Focus Sash on it, so that a super effective fart from the spider could definitely take the base 90 Def ghost down in one hit/turn

I know quagsire does its own thing, so it's not "bad". But shout-out to my favorite fellow for staring Zacian in its prime in the eyes and going "nah, I'd win".
As Magcargo finally got accepted, it begs the question: Who is the president of the horse council? Who is pulling the horse-shaped strings, almost excluding Magcargo from its kin? Is it Palkia, disguised in its origin form, manipulating the horse council from another dimension? I guess only time will tell.
But time will never tell, as Dialga, while quadrupedal, is not a horse, and thus is not privy to any of the inner machinations of the horse council. Palkia has the council well and truly monopolized, with Spectrier and Glastrier only as the faux-president and vice president respectively.
I've always liked the Ubers tier because it's so bizarre. The power level is so high based on a lot of the 'mons, which also results in weird stuff like Quagsire, Klefki, and the mons highlighted here being viable on teams. Also though it's also been mentioned in the comments, Gen 3 Ubers, Shedinja is actually viable.
It almost feels like a few select pokemon being so high power makes the format at base really linear and samey. Anti-meta works super consistently because even if they need to play around an answer, rhe Right Answers are so Right that they're still gonna get picked.
