This is not an uncommon story told about most famous musicians in some form, whether it be their parents or teachers or even bands that discarded them. Lennon was told he was making a mistake by auntie Mimi. Jimi Hendrix kicked out of Little Richard’s and Isley Brother’s bands. Elvis was told by a school music teacher he had no particular acumen to hold a tune. CCR were rejected by Bill Graham when they asked to play at Fillmore West in ‘68. Mick Jagger turned down Stevie Ray Vaughn on Stone’s label because he didn’t want to promote a hillbilly, the Beatles were rejected by Decca. Syd Barrett kicked out of a band that mourned their decision, dedicating at least two entire albums proclaiming his genius, their love for him and his influence. Hell, Paul Simon himself said Dylan had no talent many times. It should be said that these setbacks may have sparked a determination to succeed. These musicians often cite these rejections in their art, interviews and memoirs as key motivating events that drove them into a near revenge-like ambition to prove their detractors wrong. What about John and Tom Fogerty, of Creedence Clearwater Revival? It's been about 50 years they split, and Tom had to rename the band in order to avoid a lawsuit by John. That's never gonna happen. Especially when Roger came out and outright denied Russia's war crimes in Ukraine. Remember David Gilmour's grandkids are part Ukrainian so supporting ukraine is important to him
Van Halen is a weird situation. Alex and Eddie ganged up on people. Think Anthony. And yes, Hagar. Hagar was actually fired over the phone. Don’t know about their situation with Gary Cherone but it probably wasn’t the most peachy either.
I always thought Valerie Bertinelli (Eddie Van Halen's wife) wasn't happy with how David Lee Roth constantly tried to pull Eddie into wild parties that weren't the best thing for a married guy to be in. It was my understanding Eddie wouldn't party (good man) with Roth and they ended up at odds, so DLR left. Sammy Hagar didn't bring that to the band, so it worked out well. More recently: Jon Anderson & Steve Howe of Yes. Founding member Jon had been with the band thru nigh every incarnation of Yes since 1968, but had throat/lungs trouble in the late noughties. I saw Mac twice and loved them. Fast forward a few years and Nicks was touring with John Farnham. It was by far, THE WORST performance I have ever seen..EVER. The first show, Farnham went first and was amazing..as usual. Half the crowd left when Nicks came on she was so bad. The next show Nicks went first and was almost booed off stage. I seen many, many concerts in my years but she was THE WORST by far. Suzy Quatro held that position since 1974. Perhaps she was stoned but she sounded nothing like her records! I had a feeling Axl and Slash were gonna be on the list or honorable mentions. I have seen some people talk about their feud with each other on other videos based on them.
I'm not sure if Tom Morello and Zach de la Roacha of Rage Against The Machine had a feud with each other, but that could be the reason on their breakup in 2000 (Glad they are back since 2007 a.k.a the year I was born)
They're just doing it for the money now. Cause the damage has already been done years ago. There was a shit ton of money being involved to have Slash come back and be involved in the reunion. It's obvious lol. They've been touring non stop since their reunion back in 2016 but yet still no album lol

You should do a second list. CCR, Dokken, Hall and Oats, James Hetfield & Dave Mustane, Tony Iommi and Ozzy, Neal Schon and Steve Perry
Not really Neal Schon vs Steve Perry as much as it was Journey vs Steve Perry....
The Fall, lead singer and basically the band Mark E Smith worked with over 40 musicians, and had numerous fist fights with his band mates on and off stage. I saw them 15 years ago and the gig was abandoned after 15 mins because he started a fight with the drummer I think, bless his soul. Great band mind
Also, Jonestown Massacre often had fights during gigs
..and Morrissey and Jonny Marr
I have read Paul Rodgers (Bad Co.); a black belt, used to beat the shit out some band mates for being too drunk or not being sincere in their efforts to give their absolute best. Pete Townshend admits Roger Daltrey bullied and beat him up, saying ‘Roger was a street punk who used his fists to communicate his anger’. I think Sting and Stuart Copeland came to blows after Shea Stadium show…both self absorbed egomaniacs.
I love them, went to see the fall at factory in Manchester and mark was such a character.... But still great music. Still have the tourposter from this gig hanging up in my flat...
Deep Purple should be way higher. Those two DESPISE each other so much that Blackmore couldnt bother to show up to DP’s Rock and Roll HOF induction
As I recall, Blackmore was very specifically not invited to be at the induction by the other band members. He didn't just burn bridges, he vaporized them.

- Ozzy and Tony, Black Sabbath.
Ozzy once sued Tony over the name of Black Sabbath. Ozzy has stated in some interviews that he can't stand Tony.
- Joey and Johnny, The Ramones.
Joey his a liberal, Johnny is a conservative. KKK took my baby away was said to be a dis by Joey to Johnny.
When i was a kid back in the early 80's, i remember being at Showbiz Pizza and one time when the Rock-afire Explosion band took a break i looked under the curtain and saw Fatz ( the vocalist/keyboard playing gorilla) and Billy Bob ( the guitarist bear off to the side) getting ready to exchange blows........I'm serious........😀😀😀

You missed the Knopfler brothers Mark and David in Dire Straits
I didn't know that
I’m sure Steve Perry vs Neal Schon vs Jonathan Cain can be a worthy mention, especially with the lawsuits.
I had a feeling that John Lennon and Paul Mccarthy would be on here
Happily, they made up.
I didn't know that Gilmour and Waters had a feud. Damn, they're good together.
Their feud is one of the longest. Seems like they spent more years apart than together.
Oh yes they've been feuding for a while. And the War in Ukraine has only fueled their feud since davids grandkids are part ukrainian and roger has come out as a putin bootlicker who denys bucha
The feud between Don Dokken and George Lynch are the reason Dokken broke up
I always refer to Jimmy Page and Robert Plant as the 2 evil step brothers ever since the 2 were at a red carpet event together and a reporter asked them, "Where's John Paul Jones?" And one replied, "He's parking the car."
It's like being married, always together, you get on each other's nerves, it would be surprising if they didn't argue or fight.
Johnny vs Joey Ramone. Now THAT’S a feud
Joe Perry and Steven Tyler in the 70's , should have been on the list .
What do you mean in the 70s? They still don’t get along at all. Joe is a family man and Steven is not by any stretch.
I'd have included James Hetfield and Dave Mustaine. But That was a good list.
Sebastian Bach and both guitarists in Skid Row.
Brian Wilson and Mike Love ( Beach Boys ) !!!!
Finally a mention of the Beach Boys. I’d say Mike Love vs the remainder of the band.
Top 10 pop stars whose careers suddenly died
Katy Perry
Justin Timberlake
LMFAO
What about Kevin Cronin and Gary Richrath of REO Speedwagon they had a big feud, I think they might of made amends later on before Gary's death
What about Elton John and Bernie Taupin?
Never argued once !!! 😆
And I must say, I think Pink Floyd is better without Roger Wartass. 😆
David Gilmour and Roger Waters needs to get their shit together man. Pink Floyd is my favorite band of all time. They were untouchable 🔥🔥
That's never gonna happen. Especially when Roger came out and outright denied Russia's war crimes in Ukraine. Remember David Gilmour's grandkids are part Ukrainian so supporting ukraine is important to him
No John Fogarty and CCR??
Fights between singers and guitarists... Still waiting for the segment of the video where David Gilmour fights with himself.
Eddie Van Halen & Sammy Hagar weren't exactly buddies either when they split up
Van Halen is a weird situation. Alex and Eddie ganged up on people. Think Anthony. And yes, Hagar. Hagar was actually fired over the phone. Don’t know about their situation with Gary Cherone but it probably wasn’t the most peachy either.
And the common denominator? Not Dave or Sammy. Eddie didn’t like lead singers.
The brotha would go on to become one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
“Feuds between a vocalist and a singer”… wait, what?
I always thought Valerie Bertinelli (Eddie Van Halen's wife) wasn't happy with how David Lee Roth constantly tried to pull Eddie into wild parties that weren't the best thing for a married guy to be in. It was my understanding Eddie wouldn't party (good man) with Roth and they ended up at odds, so DLR left. Sammy Hagar didn't bring that to the band, so it worked out well. Consider that Eddie and Valerie divorced in 2007 - the same year David Lee Roth rejoined Van Halen. Probably just coincidence...
Actually, if you read Sammy’s book, Eddie was a cheating dog the whole time.
@@joanhoffmann871 I wish that were not true, but it doesn't surprise me. Sometimes you see certain couples and think to yourself - "they just don't seem to fit" - That's how it seemed with them. Same with Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. But after they (V and E) had been together for so long, I thought he stopped doing stuff like that. If he never did, Valerie is an even better person than I already thought she was...
“Any reported beefs between a vocalist and a singer in the same band…”
Does that mean the singers are actually just fighting with themselves?
You know two brothers hate each other when they pronounce their last name differently. Ray Davies and Dave Davis (The Kinks).
Many pictures of John Walsh when they talk about Don Felder 😂
Waters hasn’t been able to sing since the late eighties, it was no loss to Pink Floyd.
Cool music feuds.
More recently: Jon Anderson & Steve Howe of Yes. Founding member Jon had been with the band thru nigh every incarnation of Yes since 1968, but had throat/lungs trouble in the late noughties. Nevertheless, Howe insisted the band continue without him with a few different singers, putting out albums with Benoit David (later re-recorded with Trevor Horn) and Jon Davison. Anderson then got together with Yes alumni Rick Wakeman and Trevor Rabin for a rival band playing much of the same material before they were all inducted into the RRHOF. Regrettably, the two have not been working together since.
I forgot if Glen Frey forbade Fielder from the RR Hall of Fame performance or Glen's funeral. Sad.
Im surprised Anthony Kiedis and Frusciante didnt make it
What was their feud ?
Lindsey Buckingham had an amazing voice
I saw Mac twice and loved them. Fast forward a few years and Nicks was touring with John Farnham. It was by far, THE WORST performance I have ever seen..EVER. The first show, Farnham went first and was amazing..as usual. Half the crowd left when Nicks came on she was so bad. The next show Nicks went first and was almost booed off stage. I seen many, many concerts in my years but she was THE WORST by far. Suzy Quatro held that position since 1974. Perhaps she was stoned but she sounded nothing like her records! I wouldn't go and see Stevie Nicks again if I was given the flight, accommodation and free tickets!!
@@suzyfarnham3165 well you must have been very unlucky as she has given some amazing live performances. It was probably at the height of her drug use. Just search TH-cam for Fleetwood Mac live and you will see that she's given some great live shows
He's an excellent guitarist too. F. Mac was, of course, a guitar orientated band for some year more to being a vocal band. I personally would of much rather seen Nicks get the boot instead of him, he is much more talented. I always thought she was a real flake and a half, but at least half the audience that shows up to their concerts are Stevie Nicks fans, she sells seats.
The Smiths Marr and Morrissey should also on this list!
More than a few of these musicians should also be nominated to the Gigantic Egoes of the World Hall of Ignominy.
Chris and Rich Robinson. The Black Crowes seems to split up every time they tour for a few years before they can bury the hatchet to play again
What side did I take? Always Van Halen regardless of singer. Except for Cherone personally but that was decent too.
Good video
What about Uriah Heep, singer David Byrne and guitarist Ken Hensley, also CCR among other notable and influential bands not mentioned in your segment
Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart, CCR come to mind
Vivian Campbell is the best metal player !! The work he did with Dio was nothing short of a 1 man chamber orchestra!!!!!
I'm surprised John and Tom Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival aren't on here.
I think Dave Mustaine & James Hetfield should be in this list..
They kicked David Mustaine out for drinking too much ..... The end
Here’s a theory for why David Gilmour and Roger Waters haven’t been getting along; it could be multitude of reasons, but maybe it’s deep seeded regrets about letting Syd Barrett go that’s troubling them, especially since he was both childhood friends of theirs
Think it’s more political motivated
@@Stacedog Well partly. With Gilmours grandkids being part ukrainian he came out in support of ukraine and its fight to reclaim its 1991 borders however rodger has come out in favor of appeasing putin and ignores russias war crimes

Dennis DeYoung vs Tommy Shaw - Styx?? Steve Perry vs Journey?? Paul and Gene vs Ace and Peter - Kiss? Geoff Tate vs Queensryche?? CCR??
The Gallagher brothers feud is above the Davies brothers? That’s surprising
I would have had them equal top.
Since 2005 Roger Waters and DG have played together. DG and Nick both played with Roger on his Wall Tour. ;-) Google is your friend.
I can think of three that should have made this list: John and Tom Fogerty of CCR, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith (although theirs was likely fueled by drugs, hence their old nickname of the "toxic twins") and Don Dokken and George Lynch of Dokken.
What about Levon helm and Robbie Robertson?
I thought for sure you'd say McCartney vs Harrison!
McCartney and Harrison were friends since childhood. Shepherd and Harrison didn't get along, though.
Blackmore and Gillan had the longest conflict. which repeated after 20 years! 1971-1973 (Gillan left) 1991-1993 (Blackmore left)
David Lee Roth created V.H. he is the best lead singer front man of is time
Saw Pink Floyd many times, with and without Waters. He wasn't missed. Yes he wrote some words but David Gilmour and Rick Wright were without a doubt the musical geniuses behind this band and IMO made PF what it is today. IMO
What, no Paul Stanley and Ace Freshley from KISS? those two are always at each other's throats.
ritchie blackmore & ian gillan? i wouldn't have thought it!
Great video, but was disappointed to see Marr/Morrissey didn't get a mention.
Listen- The list says Feuds between guitars and singers- but david gilmour is arguably the voice of pink floyd AND the guitar player.
Roger did take over from the Floyd’s original singer/guitarist Syd Barrett after his departure in 1968 when David joined so he was still the main lead singer and Gilmour was co-lead vocals
@@andrewpappas9311 David was already in the band when Sid left, AND was hired to take over as front man and guitarist. Waters was never much of singer, which is why David sang the majority of songs.
@@deanadewall8400 He sang a lot of Dark Side and Wish You Were Here, yeah, but Roger sang on the entirety of Animals and The Wall (with the exception of a few songs with Gilmour), both of which were written by Roger.
