      But I wouldn't consider them a super group because it was just Rage with a new singer. Before they came up with the name Audioslave they went on the Ozzfest tour as "Rage Against The Machine w/Chris Cornell"

    • @MLG85
      @MLG85 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ComaAlpha it wasn’t just Rage with a new singer at all… Rage Against The Machine was specifically left as it’s own thing. Audioslave has a different sound, mostly due to how Chris sang. They steered away from politically motivated songs, and instead just focused on their music.
      It wasn’t often Audioslave played a Rage song live either… occasionally ‘sleep now in the fire’ but that’s pretty much it.
      They created a very clear divide between those 2 bands to not only respect Zach and Chris as their own artists but to leave Rage in the past and create something new.
      Luckily for us, Rage wasn’t left in the past. I absolutely cannot wait to see them live again!! 🤘👨‍🦳🤘

    • @ComaAlpha
      @ComaAlpha ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MLG85 no, you can tell the difference between the Tom written songs and the Chris written songs. Yeah, Tom took a more melodic approach to writing to accompany Chris's actual singing, but members wise it's just Rage with Chris instead of Zach.

      Same. It was my first concert and an introduction like no other. Me and my buddy were like 16 and got there early enough to get GA spots on the railing, and there were a couple middle aged women with VIP “meet and greet” tickets next to us. The band ended up being hours late arriving so they never got their meet and greet, and instead the venue told them they’d refund some money and give them unlimited drinks and food from the VIP tent. In exchange for holding their spots when they left the pit, the two cougars were funneling us beer and liquor all night and we were eating free bacon wrapped shrimp instead of $10 venue hot dogs. It was friggin great.

It was composed of Dan Donegan (Disturbed), Mike Wengren (Disturbed), Jeremy Jayson (Bellevue Suite), Sean Corcoran (Ra), and Dan Chandler (Evans Blue). Rainbow was an underrated super group from the 70s that was very influential on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. I mean come on, it had Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, future Ozzy Osbourne bassist Bob Daisley, former Jeff Beck drummer and future Whitesnake and Black Sabbath drummer Cozy Powell, and the legend himself Ronnie James Dio on vocals. They at least need an honorable mention.

    Bad Company, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Cream, and Led Zeppelin were all great Supergroups! The rest, except for the aforementioned groups, and a few others should have been labeled the top unknown Supergroups as I had only heard of a few of them, and they weren't very successful despite the huge names attached to the bands. When I think of a Supergroup, I think Queen, The Bee Gees, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, AC DC, The Eagles, Foreigner, The Rolling Stones, Chicago, Santana, Guns & Roses, Journey, U2, Deep Purple, Kiss, Abba, Metallica, Aerosmith, and the number one selling group of all time, and my favorite just ahead of Zeppelin, The Beatles! These are just off the top of my head, and I'm aware I left out some great groups so add your own, I can't think of them all! 😁👍😎✌

    Love the Dirty Mac - but let's get serious, it was ONE song (that Yoko track is almost impossible to listen to). If you're looking for Super Groups, you should've looked no further than Willie & the Poor Boys (the Bill Wymann super group that included Paul Rodgers, Jimmy Page, Charlie Watts and more). Or Superheavy featuring Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Damian Marley. And you completely missed The Firm featuring Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page.
    And if Led Zeppelin is a Super Group, then the Faces deserve to be on this list. But otherwise - no complaints (except I despise Temple of the Dog, but maybe that's just me).
