- UPDATE: So I returned the system back to Costco shortly after uploading this video, and used the money to get a Nintendo Switch. Definitely recommend the system, unless online multiplayer is your main form of gaming. All non retro gaming that isn't yet available on the Switch, I ended up just playing on my 360, which I still like and consider a good system.
However, suffering from withdrawals, I ended up giving the system another chance and purchased another console. With permission (persuasion) from my spouse, I ended up getting the Xbox One X since it was on sale at Costco, despite being willing to settle with a cheap holiday bundle of the One S. Definitely having much better experiences with the new console. No random restarts, games loading properly, etc.
I made this decision based off a number of factors:
The lack of new Nintendo Switch games and ports to fill the void have not been released yet, despite LOVING the Doom port.
Spouse kinda hinted that she wanted another Xbox One in the house.
Xbox OG backwards compatibility being added and plays KOTOR really well.
The huge amount of digital Xbox One titles I already own, mainly the free titles from being an Xbox Live member for so long.
My primary console that wasn't the Switch, the 360, the multiplayer community of my favorite games are all dying or full of cheaters.
And finally the deciding factor......... PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds! Played it at a friends house and got hooked on it. My friends started playing it religiously, and unfortunately the PC version doesn't have cross platform multiplayer.
Anyways, I will probably do a video on this. Still not buying too many games, however, cause I am still holding a grudge. Prioritizing Switch versions of games over anything else. Peace out, all!

If the games didn't load while the console was also offline, then probably. Currently on my 360, and it is having no issues.

When this is over, I am calling Xbox and requesting a refund on my Xbox Live account for each day it was down. Not a legal expert, but pretty sure legally they have to compensate you for this, due to being a breach of contract on their part. Works for the cable companies when Internet goes out. Everyone should do the same.

No, after getting disconnected 4 times with their customer support, they said the minimum refund they could give was for 30 days. I told them I just want one, or I was boxing up the console and returning it to console. After expressing much frustration over the Xbox One brand since launch, I ended up boxing up the console and returning it, and used the money to buy a Nintendo Switch.
Despite getting disconnected 4 times for whatever reason, the customer support people were at least professional and friendly, and I still thanked them for giving me the time.
The irony is, I ended up giving the system one final chance, and purchased another console yesterday, with permission (and pressure) from my fiancé. The only system the store had in stock was the One X, so ended up getting that (which I think my fiancé wanted that console more anyways). Friends have been begging me to play PubG with them, and all my favorite 360 games' MP communities are to small to enjoy now, or full of modders.

Y’all I know how to fix it set your main account as your home Xbox and if your okay with not saving data then make a new acc and the game will be downloaded on that account for you to play

A lot of times it's the storage that is the problem. I switched my HDD out with a SSD, never had gaming issues since than. But there are more problems wrong with the Xbox.

I just downloaded Shadow of Mordor, i loaded up the game and as soon as it loads up to the start screen it boots me back to the home screen, even after i followed your steps.

For me it's doing for insider hub and I click on it and it shows the symbol and 2 seconds later I'm back on the home screen. Not even an error message

If I had bought a PS4 at launch, had no internet connection from them to now, would I have had any trouble playing disk games that I had purchased? Also, how long is the mandatory install for the average disk game?
itchyisvegeta install off disc is fast. like you're playing in 20 mins easy then the rest of the disc copies in background. tbh I barely notice the install time

it's way faster 20 mins is for horizon zero dawn. internet don't affect it

Brothers and Sisters if this fails to work. Go to settings-System-console info-reset console-reset and keep my games and apps. If this don’t work, go fuck Microsoft up for a new Xbox. But honestly it worked for me, and thanks for the video still always grateful for any assistance whether it works or not💯
I had a new game disc so i watched a video a guy told me to pick up my xbox and tilt so the disc would load and i pooled a cord and the xbox went off like you did and then i saw it was in my home screen and i left it to load
its been doing this over and over for mk 11 finally i found a vid covering it

This is exactly what happened to my Red Dead Redemption 2 disc edition. I only played it twice b4 shit hits the fan. Other games worked fine digital and disc even Ryse which was the first game I got and have not touched since completing it back in 2016.
It has been doing this with black ops 3 pubg battlefield 1 and rainbow six siege and in 2018!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same problem but my Xbox keeps booting me back to the main menu and I'm not online. Never have been I'm just trying to play straight from the disc and it keeps sending me right back to the main menu. There is no ethernet plugged into my console so I guess I just need to throw this thing in the trash and buy another Xbox yet again or buy another hard drive or something. God Microsoft is junk

I know this is an old video but even years later in 2019 it’s still a problem. Then when we hard power off the Xbox one and power it back on, it takes forever for the controller to sync back up. It’s just a pos system. No wonder PS4 dominates sales in this particular console generation. We should of went with that but after lots of fun with the 360 we wanted to stick with this platform for backwards compatibility.

Mlb the show 21. I'll play a game in my franchise mode and when the game ends and i select return to clubhouse its sends me to m xbox home screen and the game i just finished isn't saved. I've uninstalled amd reinstalled it. Any advice from anyone would be helpful
