Today I'll try the GooLoo GP4000 Jump Pack for jump starting cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, ATV's, side by sides, and more. Do jump packs really work? Watch and see as I test it on my 2019 Kubota B2601 compact tractor and my 2004 Jeep Liberty.

Hi Ed. I though for years they would not work either. One came on sale for $ 90..00 so I bough it. I have helped several people with it over the years. I have it in my truck and after testing it over a year it was still at full charge. I recommend every vehicle should have one. Makes a good gift also.

The smart jumper cable has an Over-start Protection function. If you start the vehicle continuously for more than 4 times within 2 minutes, the jumper cable will turn into Over-start Protection (Green and Red light on the jumper cable will blink alternately), meanwhile, there will be no output of battery clamps. you can disconnect the jumper cable plug from the jumper starter, the Over-start Protection will be removed.
Iv got one and so far iv used 6times and each time it start right away and no boost needed, and I am still on 4 light on battery indicator, I really impressed with it and my car is a 2012 1.6 liter diesel engine, so far so good

Great video Ed.. I have had a few offers to collaborate with companies selling battery boosters as well but none of them were interesting to me. This one is quite different. It's compact and it seems to work really well. We were camping this summer and one of the kids left my truck door open for several hours killing the battery. I have jumper cables and asked someone for a jump start. He pulled out one of these units (different brand) and it started right up. Very impressive.

Great review Ed. I have a similar unit (NOCO GB40) and I love it. These things are very impressive for their size. I really like that flashing green "boost indicator" light on the GooLoo...that's a great feature.
Also, I expect there's a Best Actor nomination in your future...

Nice review Ed! Just a tidbit advice for good practice. When connecting jumper cables, positive first, negative second. When disconnecting its reverse..negative first, positive second. This was more so in days of old where the negative jumper would be connected to a ground source AWAY from the battery…such as the engine block or frame. If a spark was to occur when “completing” the circuit, the spark would occur away from the battery. Something instilled into me way back in my high school auto class. Thumbs up everyone 👍👍

Well, the Ferry system in Washington State uses them. And they can’t fool around, with tight schedules...
I've looked at a jump pack several times. I keep going back and telling myself that I can use jumper cables or battery charger. One of these days I'm going to be in a spot where neither will reach. Great video.

You were a BRAVER man than me to connect that charger to your Jeep BACKWARDS, reversing the polarity!
With all of today's computer technology and the chips that are installed in vehicles, the risk is just too great.

I'm glad you have good luck with your unit. The one I have bought from Amazon is 3 months old and it has not even started a lawnmower but I have been trying to get it fixed or replaced or something and have been told every single word from my warranty is expired so 6months is a warranty, to I have not charged it for a long 😢
That’s unfortunate. I’ve been really happy with this one and have heard great things from others who bought one.
These things are pretty useful. Gotta be careful storing them in a cold vehicle but otherwise they are awesome. Mine recently died so I need to replace it.

I have a big booster, but thought it would be handy to have a glove box size one. Well it didn't start my 2019 Hybrid ford fusion. Returned it to the store. I'm now skeptical of these little things, might give one a try again some day. Looks like you had good luck with it.
Then in no way it was this jump starter. Even the 1500 can jump start your car even without his own 12v battery.
Additionally to your review, it should be noted that not only did you get a red light when cross connected, but an extremely high pitched tone to ensure you were aware of the error! Great detail!
My question is, how long will it hold a charge if unused? Does temperatures impact performance?

According the instructions, they recommend charging it after 2 months. Not bad.
Mine was junk from the beginning and I have been trying for some time to get in touch with the company. Not so much of a help but the excuses are full of bull and I don't know what to do to.... laugh or cry
The light was solid green, when you jumped the tractor.... you did not need the boost button. Why would Gooloo have someone who does not read the directions test their product?
Does draining your battery (leaving lights on) damage the battery?
All in the name of science (and content)! I think if you did this often and for long time it could damage the battery. But I don't think this short test will affect it. I hope!

So yea, it’s going in my wife’s car. I keep a fully charged truck battery in a sealed box in the bed of my truck and my cables easily reach so, if something goes awry, I just jump myself! ( that doesn’t sound right does it?😎🤦🏻♂️)

You don't need to press any button.....
Unless the voltage in your battery is too low to be detected by the gooloo, then you need to press the boost button.
This guy has a jeep liberty.......... you are really going to trust his review?
a jeep liberty does not count for jump starting. that pos could be jump started from a triple A battery...... I bet the dealership was laughing you out the door when you bought that wreck.
Thanks for watching the video. We bought the Liberty from a neighbor dirt cheap and used it for several years. Then we gave it to a friend who needed a car. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, LOL.
