Just to clarify, we did in fact have a defective Gooloo GT4000 with the preheat technology Not activating in below freezing temps in a few different videos. We ordered a new Gooloo GT4000 to verify if we had a defective unit or not, and the new Gooloo GT4000 works perfectly with the preheat technology activating properly. We had a few other viewers mention that their GT4000 was acting the same as our defective unit with the preheat technology Not activating. I was thinking we either have defective units, or is it possible that the Gooloo team put the Gooloo GT4000 outer coverings on the GT4000S models accidentally and sold them like that not knowing, just a thought. That would explain why my unit as well as a few others had issues with the preheat technology never activating. Also, just to clarify, I am not one to bad mouth another company, I just post and review what I experience. Gooloo is an outstanding company who make great portable jump starters, unfortunately a few defective units slip through the cracks every now and then and get shipped out. Happy Holidays
@bigbob7062 We extended the cables on many of our jump starters to show it could be extended. Those short cables are hard to maneuver in those hard to reach batteries. We have a few videos explaining and showing how to extend your short cable wires. This way, you have longer leads. That's why you are seeing longer cables and joints. Appreciate your comment
Please watch some of our older videos where we show most of these same portable jump starters jumping a Caddy V8 in below freezing weather. We weren't testing the preheat technology in those videos, we were just testing the actual portable jump starters to see which ones could jump start a freezing vehicle with a dead battery. So the results would basically be the same on a freezing car. Thanks for the comment. Happy Holiday
So with all your testing which jump starter is overall the best? I've been trying to make up my mind for weeks. I'm leaning towards gooloo gt4000s or lokithor j401x . Have you ever heard of the Yaberauto ya60? It must be fairly new because I could only find reviews on Amazon and I think 200 reviews with all 5 stars which is somewhat suspicious.
@@HM_RELOADED I'm not sure it must be fairly new can't find much info on it other than the 5 star reviews on Amazon. Maybe you could do alittle research on it you know way more about those kind of things than I do? Like I was saying all 200 reviews had 5 stars but again I'm not educated on the specs and so on.
That's a good one, but in the freezing weather I wouldn't want to go grab a heat lamp or any other heating gadget to heat up the jump starter and hope the insides heat up quickly. I would rather use the preheat technology on the jump starter that takes about 15 seconds and be on my way. Appreciate the comment
@@HM_RELOADED smal missunderstud ! .....i mean the lamp in the device to turn on to heat it up ?! .... if a device dont have that function !! ....... my edit dont work :( :D
@SteppingR Gotcha. Not sure if the light on the unit would be strong enough to heat the inside of the unit up in a timely manner. But that was a great thought
GOOLOO GT4000 you have mybe defective. My GOOLOO GT4000A display shows the pre-heat temperture goes into a heat cycle, the battery pre-heating turns on. The pre-heat temperture display goes up in temperture. You can feel the battery warm up.
We are ordering a new one to see if we have the same issue. We love our Gooloo GT4000 it's just a shame it looks like ours is defective of pre heat technology. It works perfectly, except preheat technology
Definitely a defective unit. I just got mine. Put it in the freezer for a few hours. Took the unit out and press the power button and you can see the snowflake icon but that does not mean the pre-heat is active. After holding the boost button for about 2 seconds, you see this 3 waves icon next to the snowflake and a temperature display below. The temperature will start to increase as the pre-heating is active.
@@zuffy8778 Yes, you are correct, our new Gooloo GT4000 works great with the preheat technology. I had a few other viewers tell me that there Gooloo GT4000 is acting just like my defective unit with the preheat technology not activating. I told them to call Gooloo, but their warranty has expired, so naturally nothing could be done. Obviously, there are some defective units out there (like with all products), but the company should do a deep freeze test and make certain that the preheat technology works in Every single GT4000 they ship out, otherwise some people are going to get defective units and post videos showing their product is not working correctly. And I am never one to bad mouth any company, I just post what I see and experience. A viewer mentioned that it's possible that Gooloo actually may have put the Gooloo GT4000 (preheat technology) outer cover on the GT4000S (No preheat technology) model accidentally, that would explain why my GT4000 preheat technology doesn't work correctly in my defective unit. I guess it's very possible that the team at Gooloo may have switched a shipment of GT4000 outer coverings and put them on the GT4000S models. Who knows...Just going by what a viewer mentioned. Happy Holidays
@@HM_RELOADED It would be nice if during power on or a reset, it will display everything in the LED screen, similar to a car. If the pre-heat and temperature never display, then it's obvious that is a GT4000S in a GT4000 case. I guess the real option is open the unit to confirm if the pre-heat plate exist. That will definitely validate if the unit is truly a GT4000S in a GT4000 case.
I will tell you what, get me a plane ticket to Canada, and I will test all the portable jump starters at your choosing in Canada. Lol Thanks for the comment Happy New Year
Actually its AW401. And its Very Good I purchased for winter because it’s getting cold here in Canada and sometimes battery discharge by its self. But unfortunately AW401 doesn’t comes with Heating technology. Thats why i was asking about how it’s performed in extreme cold??
@deargill6137 Luckily, our Lokithor J401X has the low temp technology up to -40 degrees, and it works very well as our videos show. The AW401 looks and works great according to the videos I have watched. It's a shame it doesn't have the low temp technology. Most portable jump starters without preheat technology will work in up to -4 degrees, but I am not sure what the specs are on your AW401. I wouldn't be surprised if yours could work in -4 degrees. But for the money and how well they are made, my money was spent very well on the Lokithor J401X & Hulkman 10.0. Both those units seem to be on a different level than the competition for whatever reason. I have seen countless videos out there showing how well made the Lokithor J401X and Hulkman 10.0 are made. They may be a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for, most times.
@@HM_RELOADED I already Purchased AW401 which doesn’t have Low Temperature technology because in Canada they didn’t launch J401X which is totally unfortunate because we have extreme temperatures in Canada specifically in Alberta and they Launched a product which doesn’t have Low temp technology and have car wash technology which is good but completely useless in Winter time almost 6 months. There are some private sellers who are selling J401X in Canada from USA in 3x time price Lokithor is doing something wrong 😑
not sure u r using the gooloo properly. another video showed holding down the boost button until a heat symbol shows next to the snow flake. then your 100 seconds. pressing the boost button once is for a car battery too low for the gooloo to recognize (the ready symbol wont start).
Not really true. If you have a frozen unit, it will take a little more than 100 seconds for the unit to heat up and work on its own (with No preheat technology). Many people don't realize, but when these units are frozen from low temps, so are the internal parts of the unit frozen as well. Just by waiting 100 seconds will Not remedy the issue, you would have to wait a good 15 minutes for most units without preheat technology to work as they should. But keep in mind, when you are stuck on the side of the road in the cold weather, the last thing you would want to do is wait for your portable jump starter to heat up, because you don't have preheat technology. And we have tested frozen jump starters without preheat technology to see how long they would take to come out of their frozen state and operate as they should, which is how we know. Most of the cheaper units either took way more than 15 minutes to operate, or some cheaper units didn't even function for hours. And just about all the better units took between 10-20 minutes to fully operate without preheat technology. Preheat technology is a great option in places with very frigid weather. This way, you won't have to wait a lot of time to jump start and go. If you are trying to jump start your vehicle in sub zero temps, obviously, you won't have any heat in your vehicle to assist your frozen jump starter without preheat technology, that's where preheat technology comes in. We appreciate your comment

I was cheering for the Lokithor and it didn't disappoint. It really feels like the top dog in this market.
I would love to see this test done on the regular Hulkman Alpha 85 without the preheat technology.
The Gooloo gt4000 why are there what looks like joints in the battery cables, they also look longer than the leads that are supplied with the unit.

It seems that lokithor’s J401X and hulkman really have hard-core technology
They are made very well
wow, hunkman 10.0 costs $370 compared to the lokithor J401X @ $140 w/ case is kinda a no brainer
If you starts your cold car at -4°F -10°F degrees, the test result would be different.
