- Nintendo Fanboy Harman smith is back at it with his infinite wisdom. He claims people on the Steam Deck emulating Nintendo games are a huge problem. In this video, he actively states Nintendo needs to find a way to stop others from emulating their old games. He loses his mind at the thought that people don't have to deal with Nintendo just to play their games. Harman Smith is a fine example of what is wrong with video games. The man has no problem just defending everything Nintendo does, no matter how anti-consumer it is. If he makes a video tomorrow, he's going to defend Nintendo's decision of making Switch games $70, and even probably say Nintendo is doing the right thing by charging games like the new Zelda game at $70. With consoles like the PlayStation and Xbox getting close to the same price as the 3DO (which was priced at $699), what's stopping from the price from reaching $100 for a game? It'll happen because fanboys like Harman Smith keep allowing Corporations to do this, defend it even.
I'm a Sega fan, but if Sega was to decide to make Sonic Adventure 3, I WON'T pay $70. If Capcom finally releases Mega Man Legends 3, I WON'T pay $70. Because by doing so, you're telling them that's okay to sell these games at $70 and eventually raise the price to $80, then $90 and eventually $100.
IF he does make a video on 70$ Nintendo games I will do a response to that for sure.
Emulation is NOT a crime, it's how you acquire the roms that's the issue. If for example you get the roms from backups of games you own then your golden but if you acquire them from a torrent site then THAT is illegal. I've been emulating games on my PC for WELL over a decade and ALL the games I have emulated either I have legit copies of or family and friends have them.
Harman doesn't seem to get that, or he does and is being disingenuous.
Just because of how Nintendo is I gladly pirate, I really dislike their values as a company therefore I do not like to purchase from them, but they still have amazing games which is why I continue to just pirate
i think that threes a market of old nintendo games and theres no other way of playing them so thats why people emulate them.
Yep and I have been itching to play some old DS and GameCube classics, but according to him I shouldn't do that.
I should hope Nintendo re-releases the games again and then buy them that way. Or even go and Pay for an old console and find the game.

I said it before but harman smith think that there is no video games without nintnedo and that any company that is not with nintendo is against them its crazy
I actually initially bought a Steam Deck for emulation but I was caught off guard by just how much Steam has to offer. I have over 200 games in my library and roughly 500 more on my wishlist. Maybe I'll get around to hardcore emulation if I upgrade my SSD. Though, I'll probably use my phone for Switch when Skyline starts to become more usable.
The steam is awesome as both a emulator machine and a steam library. Harmen Smith on the other hand seems to think emulation should be illegal lol.
Those are rookie numbers 😂😂😂, but in all seriousness though Steam does have a ridiculous number of games available and tbh the Steam Deck isman emulation powerhouse.
That feeling when you have 200 Steam games, most of which you'll probably never play.
But at least they're mostly cheaper than on the Switch.

The funniest part of Harman's video is that if Nintendo made emulation illegal, they would be doing _far_ more harm to themselves and the game industry as a whole rather than the pirates. As I understand it, most computers rely on some sort of emulation and to outlaw that would make most things involving computers illegal.
Harman should get outside, touch grass, and do research for these videos.
Nintendo has done enough damage to themselves with their business practices I actually just sold my Switch to get PlayStation and Steam Credit…. I don’t think emulating is a problem especially the way Nintendo shuts their Estores down and you lose games you paid for…..Guess what Harman emulating Nintendo is deserved on them

This aged well as Nintendo is currently suing Yuzu.
I'm sorry, but im not even interested in Nintendo anymore. They only have 2-3 exclusive I might actually play every cycle. Gamcube was the last Nintendo console I loved, but looking back, I mostly played third-party games.
Shame I used to be excited for Nintendo products, but not so much now. at least we still have the GameCube era to enjoy.
