Both Beyond ATC and Say Intentions are bringing flight simulation to a new level and we all should appreciate the efforts they are making. May I also complement WingFlex on their CDU which makes a flight in the 737 so much more enjoyable. Having a ‘real’ CDU visiable during the whole flight improves your immersion and in my case my flying !

I have bought BATC primarily so I can use the traffic injector in MSFS 2024 (the default traffic is a massive immersion killer for me). Currently, it's the only way to do it really well, and I must say that the traffic implementation itself is incredibly impressive and the best I've seen, having used both FSLTL and AIG in the previous sim. I'm using the FSLTL models per BATC's recommendation and I think well worth the full cost of BATC. Heck I might even start to learn the ATC aspect too 😂. Just having it playing in the background is very immersive.
Have been 'persuaded' to get the experimental version and yes, there are some bugs, but it's very exciting to hear who's behind or in front of you when taxiing. Just landed at ELLX with clearance to land but in front of me was KLM also cleared to land but I'm sure that will be fixed in the future. I'm impressed with the regular updates in response to daily feedback. Sayintentions might be better but it's not cheaper!
Couple of bugs 😂 almost completely unusable. Maybe in 2030 we will have somethings that resembles atc
@@bradclooney69 I've done 9 flights with traffic and only had one bug that broke things.
I've been playing around with it and it's pretty impressive. Right now the traffic is limited to the airport terminal areas only. I'm guessing eventually they'll implement enroute traffic. But it's an excellent start for sure. I was really surprised to have general aviation airplanes as part of the injected traffic. I was flying out of Tucson heading to Boise and there were a couple of 172s on IFR flight plans and then Learjet also. They modeled correctly since I also have the AIG models installed.
Great review, this is a great functionality. I have a small suggestion for a video idea though, I was thinking maybe 10 most well optimized payware sceneries for MSFS, similar to your videos about sceneries from a few months ago

I mentioned earlier that BATC, since it’s an ATC program, the real goal should be interacting with actual traffic. After all, what’s the point of ATC without traffic, right? That’s why I see this as a big improvement, especially for solo flights.
On networks like VATSIM, it would be a game-changer if BATC could step in when there’s no human controller available. Overall, I thought the review was fair, balanced, and insightful. I don’t quite get why it received negative feedback earlier. Thanks for the thorough review!
Thank you for this video. I'm looking at this ATC as it's a no subscription one time payment choice. Just a couple of months ago I could say I was a casual sim pilot. With add-ons like this it's becoming harder to be casual.
Amazing! Makes it far more realistic
BATC has great potential, but at the moment quite a few bugs. There is still a big problem with starting/requesting initial descent, sometimes if you do not answer perfectly as the program wants it will not understand and stubbornly answers "negative" and you have to select the appropriate item from the list, and this is a classic immersion killer, it most often happens during the taxing instruction.
VR interacting is what I’m most interested in. The latest version says there’s now a VR toolbar support; no one has done any video for that part yet.
You have to download and copy it in community folder separately. But yeah, there not a lot of video about it yet.

I'm so happy to see BATC progression! I mean, I feel this is really a great way of learning than anything else. Keeps things so realistic. Bravo!
I do wish though that they would make the actual pop-up more integrated within the sim like Parrellel42 has. Because to keep having to switch back and forth between desktop and sim is annoying. Or, have a feature to make it transparent when not in use. Because making it small hides features.
I tried this today. Flew into EGPH and on approach i was doing the standard 160kts to 4 DME, but the aircraft that was 1 mile behind me was given 'Cleared to land' and actually landed 'THROUGH' me and landed a 100yards in front of me. Promptly stopped on the runway. i landed and flew through it. I was then told to hold my position whilst the aircraft again taxied through me. Then 2 aircraft spawned on the runway, and i was held on the taxiway for 10 mins waiting for these 2 aircraft to 'CROSS'. I gave up and ignored instructions and taxied to my gate. as i got to my gate i was then given clearance to my stand.
So EARLY days yet, but it has potential.
Make sure you have all ai traffic turned off in msfs. BATC will inject its own traffic
😂😂Ion infiniteflight ATC is operated by real people that have had training and certification & also you fly with other humans, AI all good, but IF is so much more realistic as sometimes errors occur (human element) and you have to adopt to it as a pilot. MSFS is totally overrated, IF is the small jewel most ppl don’t know…
I used BATC fir for about a month and used it to practice as and gain confidence to move to Vatsim about two weeks ago. Haven't looked back since. Human beings with authentic accents and no AI. Best $30 I've spent on this hobby.
It’s awesome. I use AIG injector still set at about 40% just to have some enroute traffic. No ATC comma but nice to see contrails.
Well, I downloaded, but haven't purchased BeyondATC, as it does not have VFR capabilities. I'm legally blind, and have tons of trouble trying to use flight planning software, and services. Thanks for the video. :)
Very nice, look forward to it developing. But, the thing against BATC for me at the moment is taxi instructions. They need to develop that further, similar to SI, and not say it's nothing to do with them, it's the scenery developer. The Scenery developer is not developing for a ATC system, BATC is, they need to take ownership of the issue and ideally work with the community to fix, in the same was as SI are doing. Maybe even talk to SI and collaborate, share taxi info !!
I wish they would use the traffic injector like FSLTL does. There are quite few settings which are really important both for realism and performance. One slider 0-10 does not cut it for me. For me personally it is important to tinker with the traffic injection to maintain stable FPS I look for. This way I have tested numerous settings and set value for everything in fsltl injector.
Btw could you test one scenario please?
This problem happens ONLY when you are doing more legs in the same aircraft. Let me explain.
You spawn at your airport lets say Miami KMIA. You are going to fly to the New York KJFK. You spawn at the gate, start FSLTL injector, it injects traffic everything works fine. Then you fly to NY. AI aircraft is there, AI aircraft is moving, landing, taking off in New York - everything works fine. Problem starts when you decide to continue (no game restart, no going back to menu) from the New York to anywhere. For example you want to fly back to Miami KMIA. At New york it still works fine as it should. Planes are landing, taking off and taxiing. BUT in Miami there is not single aircraft spawned, planes are not taking off and planes are landing only, but 10 seconds after touchdown (according to the fsltl traffic command prompt log) they are removed by MSFS engine (no explanation like for example out of range). Restarting injector does not help neither removing traffic. Only fix is - going back to menu/restarting game and start over from the scratch - spawn again at the gate let the game load again.
TLDR - if you want to fly more than one leg in one game session aircraft wont spawn at the 2nd, 3rd 4th, 5th etc. destination airport no matter what you do.
I'll give this a go tomorrow. I tried sayintentions this week but couldn't get on with it as well as BATC. BATC ease of use is another level. Only downside for BATC is it often rejects my readbacks even though I think I am speaking clearly
Yeah, sometimes I have to ask 3 times for departure cleareance. I not talking to batc, I use button and auto respond so this have nothing to do with your voice lol.
BATC traffic has been amazing so far. I've been using fsltl but batc is next level; no more planes hopping onto the runway whilst i'm on final, for example. its also far more FPS friendly (at least for me)

@@FrostbitexP crank batc traffic to 10 and honestly it's just fine. It's less traffic in the sky at cruising altitude but the airports have been lively and realistic.

There is an airport map available with the little icon bottom right 3rd on left. When you’re on the ground.
The one feature I wish they would bring is the ability to select where the audio comes out from. I would rather have the atc output from my headphones and the aircraft out the speaker.
I take it this will eventually be rolled out to all users?
One fairly recently added function I really like is the taxi map, especially helpful at those larger airports where the taxi routing seems to go on forever.

The voices sound great, but there's no 'radio sim' for the way voices sound through a radio set and the accompanying noises. Also, many of the voices sound like they're about to say something else when they stop - but I guess that's a small downside to a generally great addon.

Does this programme use the correct call signs in Japan for the airlines and not use Air Bosna for ANA/JAL/Skymark etc? Same as using Boeing callsign for Taiwanese airlines etc? Great video as always.
I am flying to relax, not listen to humours of vatsim controllers or other pilots (or calm frequency/no control), so I enjoy BATC widely :)

I think FSHud is going to be the first out the door with voice recognition, traffic, and traffic separation in their latest V2. BATC nice, but currently buggy (it is just an alpha)
Problem with FSHUD that its a FPS killer, they really need to optimize the performance part

fs hud uses more CPU than the sim lol impossible to have traffic without slideshow plus for use fshud you need to pay navigrapth subscription monthly otherwise you will use the data from 2020 and you will have problems with data and your aircraft due their terrible way to implement navigrath where you can even pay just one month and backup that data
The traffic on the airport is not "real time", like it is
when using trafficinjector FSLTL.

Really happy with the AI ATC programs being developed. VATSIM has extremely toxic leadership and using VATSIM with just 50% of the controllers online, or even going offline in flight, is just boring. AI can fix this, but both programs really struggle with realism at this point and have bugs of their own. Traffic injection will not work properly, with traffic standing in the way, on the runway, etc. BATC is far from finished. Hopefully both devs develop further, but don't expect anything too serious at this point. Really curious to see where it stands in a year or 2.

So I've been using beyondATC for a few weeks now, and what happens when the premium voices run out? does the program then start recycling the voices and using old ones? I guess I never seen anything that said for sure. But I do love this update either way, cannot wait for that to hit the main branch... Unless I end up upgrading just because of this lol

The ATC program seems good but it sounds like there is an echo to the transmissions, is this just the video or is it really like that? ATC irl sounds a lot more muffled - not as echoey

Correct. Performance wasn't the best to be honest, but that might be my sim. Needs a refresh.
Beyond Atc always messes up my approach. Brings be in way too early and I'm 8000 feet above the runway
What's the performance impact? I think they said it was going to be much better than VATSIM
Essentially pretty much the same as whether you're on VATSIM or BATC, the traffic levels are always going to be the key factor and you'll be using the same models for both.
You really don't need traffic above 5 atm, lol... it's busy enough you can sometimes barely get a word in edgewise.

hey, i have a question: So I just bought BATC and I have a Winwing Ursa Minor Airbus sidestick and wanted to bind the push to talk to the normal radio communication switch on an airbus sidestick. However I am experiencing some problems when trying to use it. For exapmle the program abruptly stops recording or the recording of the voice just restarts all the time. Do know what I could do by any chance?
That's odd, I have my PTT bound to a button on my flight yoke and haven't had an issue, is their a driver your missing or maybe that button is a bit flakey
I keep getting ‘unable to connect to simulator’ error messages after clicking ‘fly’ on BATC. I tried reinstalling, running as administrator etc but still no luck unfortunately.
Make sure U have an exemption for BATC in yr Firewall for both in & Out.
Also make sure to Run as Admin everytime.

@@GenXpatPaul Find Simconnect.exe in Task manager & End Task. Make sure your Flight Sim is loaded & you are sitting on stand & launch BATC again. When I had an issue once then this worked. Try a reboot as well if that doesnt work.

No real option on this, all of them do a great job and FSLTL & AIG are free.

Say Intenions is very very Expensive its 200 Dollars a Year, that is unacceptable you cant compare that to Beyond Atc

... and those people fly than with premium voices in traffic on batc. Just calculate how much it cost so with about 10 flights a month. Thanks fully easyjet switch over to basic after a usage of 10k characters just out of standsted

Did you notice a significant drop in FPS?
I normally use FSLTL traffic injection, but its been ages since it has had any updates and it has gradually got more and more FPS heavy to a point where it is just no longer any use for me. Even on lower settings im seeing between 5 and 10 fps drop.
fps is better than use fslt i was surprised how light runs. first time i have seen a traffic injector that doesn't tank your fps

Yes, this is still an issue. BATC washes their hands saying that it is the scenery, but I wish BATC would give you directions on what's missing and what to do to address the issue.
It will never work if its scenery developer dependent, they should have gone with navigraph integration

Just a quick question. These flights all seem to have an alphanumeric call sign eg RyanAir 212J. When I use Simbrief it does not give me the alphanumeric part to the call sign. Is this something that you just add by yourself?

@@ByronLina yes I fill in the three letter airline code and the flight number and Simbrief just combines then with no alphanumeric
So there see 2 fields in Simbrief.
Flight number (U2 1723) and Callsign (EZY34AM).
Many callsigns use both letters and number and you can chose to do this as well utilising the callsign field.

It's planes parked there when the satellite took picture of the airport. Sometimes it happend with cloud also.
They should change the ATC voices to adults maybe. We get enough 10 year olds on Vatsim already

none of the programms, BATC and sayintentions hit all the marks yet. It's great to have competition. BATC has no VFR, no emergencies and is lacking flexibility, sayintentions is too expensive, too slow and has no traffic injection. I can hardly decide right now.
"... request taxi to assigned gate". Never heard them say that irl. One would assume that one of the goals of this software would be that it uses realistic phraseology.

It is realistic from the point of view that company assigns the gate, and the info is provided to ground control. In the case of BATC, the assigned gate appears on the app, and then BATC just gives you taxi instructions to the gate.
That first scenery was pretty poor with the ghost planes showing. Good video thanks. I use both BATC and Say Intentions. I think ultimately the realism with SI will be my main go to. Looking at the taxi lights, it looks like you have two airports loaded.

Turn default traffic off. It will get in the way of the injected traffic.
It should work exactly like Vatsim traffic.

Whilst I'm not as salty as the unhappy Dutchman who posted an encyclopedia earlier, I agree that there was no mention of the fact that you're in league with them as one of the premium voice options - should have been at least mentioned.
Does seem good, though. SI for me, however. Not least as the BATC Discord is a fetid swamp of fanboys.
Not strictly true to say I'm 'in league' with them. I gave permission for my voice to be used and have not and will not receive any financial recompense for this now, or in the future of the products or it's sales.

Do not buy, jank ass program. The lag from the traffic is horrendous and cause my game to completely glitch out, throttle to max, can’t control ailerons, fps to a stutter fest. And I’m on a 4090.
If you use vr, the support is jank as well. You have to exit vr mode, hit window key to open the window to start batc, then go back into the sim. For every flight. Not streamlined.
Also there is a hard dependecy to use simbrief otherwise it won’t work.
I regret my purchase.
I was wrong, the issues came from the inibuilds a320neo v2. Switch to the fbw solved all my issues.
Can’t fly without BeyondATC now. It’s pretty damn amazing!

I don’t feel this review is very objective. Why not just put the addon to the test and set traffic to 10? What about performance? And jezus those characters drown quickly. At Amsterdam planes seemingly weren’t moving?
You don't want to use ten at all. I've done and it is impossible to have access to ATC. LOL. It is much more than those 10 aircraft at the airport, but in a busy airport is the max number of aircraft that are in constant contact with ATC at a given time
@@enriqueosuna I understand 10 would be too much under normal circumstances. But what people want to see from a review video like this is how it actually behaves performance wise. It's good that it has the function now, but if it draines twice the FPS that FSTL does for example, i'd like to know because then i'm not interested anymore
@@AG-xq9qg I’ve tested both and there is no performance hit on MSFS or FPS drop. BATC resides in the cloud and the traffic injection hit is the same as just using FSLTL by itself. I’ve not experienced any performance drop with 1 up to 10. Personally I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality, performance and ease of use.
Because the slider to 10 would mean all taxiways would be filled with planes, waiting for instructions. On 5 there's plenty of traffic, and you will likely still have to line up behind other traffic before take-off. Great immersion! Even 3 still gives a lively airport. For me performance is wayyy better than FSLTL injection. Now i can fly again with the Fenix and AI Traffic to/from INI KJFK, FT EHAM, etc. BeyondATC is a game changer for me now. And basic voices are good enough for me.

It's a biased video and the channel is becoming more and more so.
I feel a bit embarrassed to see that your video’s are not that objective. But it is your channel and you can do what you want on it. But people are influenced by what you say, since you have a wide audience. So I am not here to bully or troll but i saw this in more of your video’s. Having said that….the potential of BATC is good, I have it and test it every week to see if it improved. For now I use Say Intentions because it is much better and not on rails. The Accents in the basic voice samples are ridiculous…I am a RL pilot and Dutch and no way Dutch ATC is speaking to you in the way BATC accents are doing…Crying out load…I can not listen to it. But the basis voices are okay. What about FR? I saw quite some stuttering, but it can be that your system is not that powerful, but why don’t you say something about that? There are many more items to light out when you review or speak about BATC but It seems you only want to highlight a more positive side of things while the audience might welcome honest and true information maybe? (Again…not to troll around…hope you take something from it) Thanks for the video.
Glad you have the money to afford the Say Intentions rolling monthly fees. For us less fortunate economically, we are very pleased with BATC.

Because he's probably received early access to the feature from the developer on the basis that his reviews are sugarcoated. After all, traffic injection has been one of the most requested features in the BATC discord. Many people, including myself, have opted out of purchasing it until those features are added. So, after long wait why would it be in the developers best interest to have a bunch of negative marketing on such a highly anticipated addition?
